dinner for real cheap.

so, hamburger helper was on sale this week and i had coupons. i got it for literally pennies. i normally don't buy it because it isn't healthy, but considering it was so cheap...i just bought it and was going to make it healthier somehow. i used extra lean ground beef and added an entire red and green bell pepper. i added the chopped peppers to the meat after it was cooked. i let them cook for about 7 minutes before adding the pasta and hamburger helper mix. it was really good and made it somewhat healthy. i served it with corn. the total cost of this four serving meal was $3.70 which equals about $0.93/serving. we had it for dinner and will have it for lunch tomorrow.

(seriously, it was way more appetizing than it actually looks in this picture. i am no food photographer.)

i figure, if we have 1-2 really cheap meals per week, we can save a ton of money on a yearly basis.

if you have a favorite real cheap dinner, please share. : )
