i am sure most of you have heard of operation christmas child. this is a part of our Christmas traditions. i have always enjoyed packing up a shoebox. i am even more excited for hunter to pack a shoebox one day when he understands it. it is amazing knowing that the small shoebox, full of fun toys, toiletries and other necessities, will help share the love of Christ along with the Gospel story to children all over the world. it only costs around $15-25 to make. my favorite part of putting the box together is praying over it...praying for the child who will receive it. - how wonderful it is to be involved in the Lord's workings around the globe! this is a great way to teach your kids about giving, sharing Christ and His love, and also reminding them of the true meaning of Christmas. go here to get more info and to find out how you can pack your shoebox (this year you can even track it to find out where it ended up)! hurry, national collection week is (next week) november 16-23!!!

how cute is this!!! look at the joy and excitement on their precious faces!

I can't wait to do this. Samaritan's Purse is such a great organization.
When I went to Costa Rica 2 summers ago on a missions trip we were able to hand out boxes like these! I guess they get so many during the holidays they are able to give them out all year round. I had always packed up boxes and gave them, but seeing it on the other side when they receive them is the most valuable thing ever. It was so amazing to see the faces glow when they would receive their box!
I need to do one this year! Thanks for reminding me! :)
We took our covered Christmas shoe boxes to church last Sunday. I love to buy children's toys and hope and prayer the children enjoy what I selected.
In Brazil, the churches do this kind of thing and most of the big companies too.
We pick a child or more than one from their list, they give you their clothing and shoes size, as well as preferences with toys. We buy and sometimes we go with them to deliver the gifts at their communities/shelters.
