... my baby will be one!!! it is slowly sinking in and with each day that passes, hunter is becoming more and more toddler and less and less baby. it is sad. one night while i was rocking him before bedtime i just cried because i couldn't get over the fact that he is now on toddler formula (it's way cheaper than infant formula plus i had $7 off coupons!). in less than a month i will be able to buy him whole milk. i am not sure i'll cry over that one (come on, who am i kidding?!?!) -it will be so good for the budget!
what is my almost 26 pounder up to these days? he is getting into EVERYthing. i know when he's on the move because he starts doing this heavy laugh/excited breathing thing. hunter loves finding banjo's nasty toys (those things are so stinky! yuck!!!) and i freak out when i discover he grabbed one. it is amazing, i will make sure they are no where in sight and he still manages to scout them out. he loves loves loves bathtime and is obsessed with standing up in the tub, running his hand under the running water, and drinking the water. the new christmas toys from all his relatives are keeping him entertained. he no longer likes his saucer or jumper - bummer! they were great at occupying him. hunter enjoys playpen time and everything musical. he is still sleeping 13 hours at night and takes two naps a day. oh, and if you missed the last post, he is allergic to eggs. he says "mama," "dada," and "ba." "ba" for his beloved dog, banjo. he says it constantly. the second we get home he says "ba" and looks around everywhere to find her. the minute he lays eyes on her he giggles and gets so excited. thank goodness he's not allergic to dogs!
i would love to have one of those fabulous, over the top, first birthday parties for him, but i have to remember we have another baby coming in just over four months (can it really be that soon?) and will have two kiddos in diapers. which, by the way, freaks me out... i am so nervous about double diapers - that will be a budget buster. i know that having two kids so close in age will eliminate any chances of either of them being spoiled which is a mighty good thing! anyways, back to the party - i have picked up party cups, plates, napkins, and a tablecloth, here and there at really cheap prices - i mean cheap! they are all primary colors so they ended up matching really well! i am going to make all of the decor from things i already have. we are going to have a small family party and it will be fun.
i am really excited about my friend amy from amy prikazsky photography who is going to take pictures of hunter at a "smash the cake" session. how cool is that?!! it will be so much fun! don't worry, he will have an egg-less cake. and lucky for him, he won't even know the difference! i am making him a party hat to wear along with his diaper for the shoot.
happy 11 months to my little boy!
