i would love to be crafty every. single. day. but let's face it, michael's doesn't take monopoly money. maybe by the time i'm 70 i'll have a plethora of craft items to choose from in my (nonexistant, only in my dreams) craft room. until then, i will settle for making crafts when i actually need them and have the excuse of a nursery to decorate.
i'm preparing to make the cutest thing ever for sage's nursery. a mobile like thing... like this:
(picture from jagged ideal)
only mine will (hopefully) be much much cuter. i'll keep you posted... literally... and post a sort a, kind a type of tutorial.in the meantime, i wanted to let you in on a cute and cheap craft that i made for hunter's nursery. it literally cost me $8. here's what you need:
1.
(image from design*sponge)
alphabet flash cards. i bought the martha stewart kind.
2.
(image from a stranded yarn)
twine. it's cheap. you probably have some lying around.
3.
also needed:
scissors
hole punch
a few nails and hammer
here's what you do:
-hole punch each alphabet flash card in the center on top.
-thread the twine through the holes.
-cut the extra twine off the ends (be sure to leave enough to hang it with).
-hang it on the wall with a nails and a hammer (obviously).
so cheap and it's easy peasy.
here's what it will look like:
yes, that is a rhino head on the wall. it's fake. hunter adores it. yes, he has a safari room and his name is hunter. this was not planned purposefully.
happy cute and cheap crafting to you!
if you have an absolutely amazing cheap craft that's easy, tell us about it! if you wrote a post on it... post your posts address. thanks much. i want to hear about your craftiness.

FABULOUS!!! I had no idea you had such craftiness in you! I Love it, Love it. I don't know if you've made your way around Design Dazzle yet, but ever since you posted that gorgeous tree and bird mobile for a girls nursery, I've been wanting to send you a couple of links...
For the tree:

It's always SO much rewarding when you can duplicate something and it comes out totally fab. I LOVE the alphabet cards.
Umm, can I come over to play?
I right in the middle of making a "lost socks" sign. Its will have clothes pins on it so you can hang those single socks when the mate has gone missing. So cute. I will post once Im finished!

Hey gal! Nice to 'meet' you through blog world! Love your crafts and your family is beautiful! So neat your husband is worship director. I LOVE to worship...can get lost in it..never feel like the time allowed in church is enough :) Let's keep in touch!
I love his room. You are really crafty and you seem like an awesome decorator!!
awww thank you so much for your sweet sweet comment!! i love your blog, and you are so pretty & what an adorable family :)
Great idea! I am itching to get to work on Allie Claire a playroom, and I love the idea of hanging the flashcards on string. Goodness knows it's cheaper than framing the cards ala Pottery Barn Kids. Speaking of needing pretend money :)
that is such a cute idea!! i love the paper airplanes! and that alphabet garland is creative!! i love it!!
that looks GREAT!!
Oooh, can't wait to see how your mobile turns out! Hunters room is TOO cute, and I love, love, love the flash card idea! I'll have to see if I can find some farm animal flash cards to go with our farm animal themed nursery/room. Great ideas!!! I don't have a post for it, but for my sons name, I painted large wooden letters and framed them, painted the frames and then glued the frames together. It made a big, but really cute wall grouping!
What an adorable project...and such a fabulous room!
Both ideas are so cute! I can't wait to see how the mobile turns out.
I came across your blog after reading a post by the busy budgeting mamma. Your ideas are adorable, I can't wait to read more. I will definately become a follower so I can read future posts!
Hi, Carissa! I know this is a long shot ~ I’m currently working on a project for a dear friend and came across your blog. If by any chance you still have the Martha Stewart Animal Flashcards and were willing to sell them ~ please please please email me your price. I’d love to buy them from you! Thanks!
