{1} i have an iron deficiency. it comes and goes. lately it's been bad. in a strange way i'm sort of glad because it gives me a gigantic excuse to sleep as often as possible. my grandma informed me that the cure for low iron is to saute up some livers. she even said i could stir in a little onion to make it more flavorful. i threw up in my mouth. no thanks. i'll stick to my popeye diet.
{2} i have a confession {one that is sure to embarrass my hubby because he is a musician and only likes the best of music}... my lil' sis was over {she is 9} and was watching nickelodeon. or is it just called nick these days? a song {miranda cosgrove's "kissin u"} by a teeny bopper came on and i fell in love with it. it's stuck in my head. i want to listen to it constantly. oh and dance along, hold up my brush like a mic and pretend i'm 15 again.
{3} this must be too good to be true...
have you ever heard of this instant spray shampoo?!? have you tried it; does it work? apparently you just spray it on and your hair is clean. without water. without messing up your style. which means no blow drying and re-styling. i wonder if i could get away with using this every single day. i can't stand fixing my hair.
{4} attention world: yes, our family vehicle has a major problem with some sort of chain. it will cost more to fix than the car is even worth = no fix. it makes a loud, loud clanging sound... especially when it is stopped, like at a stoplight for instance. yes, it's a loud enough noise for us to clearly know there is a problem. so, the next time you're next to me at a stoplight, you don't need to roll down your window and tell me that something is wrong with my car. i'm fully aware. thanks for your thoughtfulness and concern, though.
{5} tomorrow will be a fun day at lowercase letters. the fun involves winning and jewelry. what more could you want?

Oh goodness, I love that new song too! My kids watch Nick{elodeon?} all day :) I have to admit, I get sucked in sometimes too ;) Too funny! We had a car like that before...it made a loud thundering train or jet noise when I'd get up to 55mph! haha! I didn't get any looks at all! haha! Good luck and take care! Hope you're feeling great!
You really wouldn't go for sauteing some liver for dinner? I mean, mixed with the onion and all...
I have a iron deficiency and have to take iron supplements, the prescription kind! I almost lost my breakfast bar when ya started talking about liver yucko LOL....
I haven't heard of that song but now you have peaked my interest and I am gonna have to listen on you tube hahahaha! Kelcee likes Nick(elodeon?)
Funny about your car! You should get a bumper sticker that says "Thank You for your concern, I am quite aware my car squeaks" LOL....
Ooooh winning and jewelry can't get much better than that
Hope you had a fab weekend
xoxo
Summer
HAHAHAHA! That's so fun! I can just imagine my mom doing that...HAHAHAHA. Don't worry--you're still uber awesome. ;-)
Nick, Nickelodean, same deal. Nickjr is on a lot at our house. In fact, some of the kids I babysat laughed because I recited something that was frequently said on it. It comes with having younger siblings.
Oh. that instant spray shampoo looks great. Tell me if it works--that would be SUCH a time saver. ;-)
Have a great day!

I haven't tried that particular brand of instant shampoo...but I have tried Bumble & Bumble (which is so pricey-ugh) and my newest love is Tre Semme (ooo la la- ha, sorry!) and I really like it. I use it when I want to make my hair look a little nicer after a long day...or on the weekends if I need to run somewhere quickly, but don't want to shower! I'd definitely try the Tre Semme if it peaks interest! :)
Girly I just listened to that song on You Tube and it makes ya all giddy like a teenager! I had to turn it down because I was listening and realized oops that's a little loud it's gonna wake Kelcee....LOL
xoxo
Summe :0)
psssssssssssst is AMAZING! i used it and didnt wash my hair for like 4 days...im not even kidding. i looooove it!
*gag* My Mom had low iron problems with my sister and she wanted liver all the time. Gross, gross, gross. I still remember the smell. I've heard that liquid chlorophyll is one of the best ways to safely supplement iron?!? It's the green pigment in things like spinach. Might be worth asking about.
Hope your vehicle issue resolves. Mine used to do things like that at stoplights and such. Everyone always insists on pointing it out, too. It's like gee, thanks, I didn't notice. ;)
I'm all about jewelry and winning. I'll BE HERE! Have a great Monday!
Coming back tomorrow! did someone mention jewelry?
Just thinking about eating liver makes me want to throw up a little too! I don't know any teen songs, but I can sing almost every theme song to every cartoon on NickJr! I have wondered about the no water shampoos before too, but I figured they wouldn't work very good. All the comments from other people say that they do work though, so I may have to check it out:)
CARISSA, That's hilarious!! I know what you mean. I like that song too and Im in the same boat as you because Carson has been making fun of me for about a month now for liking the new Justin Bieber song and singing it all the time!! He calls him Justin Beaver haha! Oh well. Our TV is constantly on Nick or Disney so you cant help but see that stuff!
And I havent tried that shampoo but Im sure I would love it. I have used the powder shampoo by Bummle & Bummle before and its amazing but its SOOOOO expensive so I just cant buy it. I HAAAAATE "wash my hair day" though! grrrr!
p.s. pumped about jewelry...especially if it has to do with the initials L.L. :-)
Oh that is so gross! I was thinking about some yummy cheerios for breakfast... and then I read about liver...eck! hahahaha
It is always fun to act like a teen without a care in the world sometimes. I know my sister and I have done that on road trips with sing-alongs in the car. :)
I'll stick with normal shampoo.
Hope your car gets fixed soon.... even if that means getting turned into scrap metal. hehe
Have a great day! Looking forward to tomorrow!!
xoxo,
Bonnie
for the longest time i drove a car with an oil leak. this meant every time i stopped somewhere, people would come running to inform me that my car was on fire.
Good morning! I have heard that liver thing too, but it disgusts me also... My mom eats lots of raisins for iron- don't know if you like them, but you might try it. ?
I have been known to sing a song from the Imagination Movers occasionally out of the blue, so I feel your pain. No judgement her!
Happy Monday!
haha! you know i'm inclined to admit that i watch a ton of disney and nickelodeon...and i'm 25 [almost 26] with no kids to blame it on?
what can i say? i love hannah montana, wizards of waverly place and icarly...
yeah i'm a dork :)
Liver & onions...no, no, no...there has to be another way! I have seen that shampoo before, when my step mom was on bed rest...though I'm not quite sure how it works. I do think it is not just Nick...oh, but how I remember the Nickelodeon days. Have fun singing...you'll be that hip mom. Sorry about your car.
HATE liver...gross!
I have some of that instant shampoo. Because I have dark hair you can see it when you spray it in. Makes you look a little gray.
the hair spray shampoo is bizarre! I have to go to target and get it just to try =) and the car situation I can totally relate to. We have what we call the "good car" and the "bad car". The bad car takes about 5 times to start...so we are right there with ya!
=) Ashley
Oh how I love a good shower! I don't think I could give that up for a good hairspray. What I COULD give up is doing my hair. But, I think I would like it better if I knew how to do it better. I feel hair inept at times. Which is why I'm going to try shorter. I USED to have amazing hair, then I left college and it went down hill. hmmmmmmmm.
I totally laughed out loud at the liver story. :) Come on, where's your sense of adventure?! ha ha
i'm intrigued at spray on shampoo. except i have way oily hair. so would it make it more greasy looking? hmm.
winning is always fun. i'll be sure to be back tomorrow. heck even if it wasn't for a giveaway...i'd be back tomorrow. :)
Oh no!! Good luck with the car :( Nick and Teen Nick and Disney are all guilty pleasures of mine and I enjoy the music on occasion too (how embarassing!)
Let me know if you try the instant shampoo and if it works!!
I know what you mean. There is a miley cyrus song that I HATE that I LIKE. lol If you do try that shampoo make sure to blog about it. I'm curious if it works. :)
Instant spray shampoo - WHAT?!?!? That would be awesome if it worked. I love that it's called Pssssssst.
Oh man, if you try that shampoo, you'll have to share. I would give anything if I didn't have to shampoon and dry my hair all the time. That is too funny about the song, I get silly songs in my head all the time, even when I usually don't like the artist. Happy Monday! :)
Found your blog through Grammy Girlfriend. Certainly had me giggling this a.m. I heard on Dr. Oz that you should cook in an iron skillet if you have a deficiency. He says that enough of the iron will be released into your food. Don't know how often you have to use it though.
About the Psssssst... I used it way back in Jr. High. It has been around a LONG time. It worked OK I guess, to use it just once between washes. It did make dark hair look a little gray. And if you use it too much, looks like you are trying to mix up a cake on your head. Ick!
oh my...stinky car! Have you considered naming your car...I called mine Hank The Tank when he was bad?
That instant spray shampoo is very interesting! I wonder if it works??
You should try the shampoo and let us know if it works! I hate washing and styling my hair!
I have Tresemme (sp?) dry shampoo. It's... eh, okay. I mean, for me it doesn't make me feel as good as fresh, clean hair. But in a pinch it's definitely better than not doing anything.
I'm not sure if it's that particular kind of not, though, because I know some people swear by dry shampoo.
spray shampoo? huh?
I am interested in the shampoo and going to buy a bottle....It would sure help on days that are hectic...
spray in your hair shampoo....no water...no rinsing...no drying. hmmm, sounds WAY TOO GOOD to be true ;)
if you purchase, please give us a review!
i love hanging out with my 18 year old sister and acting like i'm 18, it's fun to be a kid.
have a great monday pretty lady!
seriously, spray shampoo... that would rock if it actually works!
If my boys have Nick on I totally get sucked in to the tweeny bopper shows, it is really terrible~ ;)
BTW, Love ur blog, new follower =)
i've heard of that no water shampoo for dogs but not people! you'll have to let us know how it works!!
i can't say i have tried that instant spray shampoo, but for some reason, i just don't trust it.
HAAH! I have a feeling the "spray shampoo" doesn't work too well. Who knows though! I am iron deficient when I'm preggy too. So not fun!! It does make you super sleepy all of the time.
Ahh! I am finally able to comment! Was having trouble for the past few weeks?
Switched blogs... so follow along with our new one!
LOVE the past couple of posts you've posted! I had a bajillion things I wanted to comment and of course can't think of what they are now.
How fun you have a 9 year old sister! I younger siblings as well... love it!
Hope you have a great Monday!
I looove fried liver - and that shampoo is crazy!!
i love winning and i love jewelry!
as for the shampoo...i'm dying to see how has tried it! imagine how much time that would save us momma's sometimes?
as for the song..i know the one! it is too too cute!
Very cute post. I am loving your Monday posts. My friend has a hairstyling blog and she recently posted something about the spay shampoo. I am very intrigued to try this. I am with you on the liver. GROSS! Have a great week.
I saw the freebie offer on that "too good to be true" shampoo and passed it up. I would love to know if it actually works. Also, I can relate to the car thing! We're just praying a transmission doesn't go out in our household. I hate cars...they're nothing but problems. However, on the other hand my hubby LOVES them and points out every little noise that mine makes. Boo--I just tend to ignore the noises. A new car must wait until it's baby season in our home.
Spray on shampoo sounds a little fishy to me. Now really, how can a spray get ON get anything OUT? :)
I've been anemic with pregnancy and I was so weak I couldn't even sing without getting winded!
Hope you end up in a good car situation soon!
Chums,
Lynnette
No spray shampoo? I'm a bit skeptical. I was iron deficient when I was preggers and seriously liver and onions, not too bad. Don't judge me. LOL.
so that spray shampoo, not so much! My sister is a hairstylist and she gave me some. Its like putting baby powder in your hair. It works, for me, as a quick fix if my hair is looking a little oily. The kind I have is that Big Sexy stuff so not sure if its every brand or just the one I have.
That shampoo is hilarious. Looks very questionable. Ha! And I can totally relate about the car situation. Anthony's car makes the most obnoxious squeaking noise when we slow down or turn it off. It's not embarrassing at all when we park in crowded parking lots....
I don't know the song you're talking about, but I can totally relate to the feeling! I was watching a teeny-bopper show this weekend and these girls had a sleepover and prank called people and I was like "when did I stop doing these things??" I can't believe I miss the teen years.
I was total anemic was I was prego- both times. The doctor tried to stuff me with iron... clogged me up, I hated it.
That spray shampoo totally works, I've heard.
That shampoo is the bomb!!
bahahaha... please don't eat liver. if you do, please don't blog about it. haha :) i love fun songs like that too...i have radio disney on my car radio and i love it...Tyson always makes fun of me. i've used bumble and bumble spray shampoo..it honestly made my hair feel kind of gross, but I guess it helped keep it from looking gross hah. i hope you had a great weekend and a good monday!!
I am so intrigued by this shampoo!!
I had an iron deficiency last pregnancy but it has been under control this time around! Good luck with the liver eating haha!
That shampoo for some reason make me nervous!! I have an iron deficiency too. But taking iron pills would often upset my stomach so bad. Can't wait to see tomorrow's post!
Oooh chain problems in cars usually costs a pretty penny or two eh?
Hope you had a great weekend:-)
i was looking for your blog today and couldn't believe i wasn't already a follower... NOW i am!
hope you have a great week!!
is that like "dry" shampoo? I've heard that's amazing and it's great when you don't have time to shower. I haven't tried it yet but I really want to!
Liver?!?!? I hate it.... But if you go have dinner with my mom, she will make it for you and my Hubby (who loves it) ; )
Haha... you are so funny! When I was young I ate a piece of beef. Or so I thought... asked my dad what it was and he said it was beef. I said NO IT'S NOT. I almost threw up. It was actually liver. Eww... not cool dad. Not cool.
I was anemic for all three preggs, and took the prescrip. iron pills and was STILL exhausted...oh well. The liver thing= eeeew, the rest was just adorable! Stop by my site, cute giveaway going on!
WINNING AND JEWELRY!
oh i can't wait!!
and sorry about your iron deficiency and car problems. i hope everything works out!
and instant shampoo.. oh goodness i do not need to know about this. with swimming in the pool and summertime... i may never shower! haha kidding!!
yuck on liver! oh no mam. I'm sad about your car. I want to look up that song. I can't wait to see what you are talking about tomorrow. (today rather I need to get to bed!) I'm not buying that hairspray....I can't see how it could possibly take the grease out or clean hair!?!
That "shampoo" is actually not too bad. Well don't know much about that brand but I have used some similar and it was nice for a ponytail day. Gives you just one more day before having to do the whole wash routine...some days I just need to put that off, you know!
Good luck with the car :( Yuck!
EW! Liver is NASTY!!! I hate it! Your mom is right though...liver is good for anemia. You should get liver supplements--I don't do well with iron sups., but liver is actually gentle and it helps quite a bit (I'm not actually anemic to my knowledge, but I have had some issues that were like that in the past).
That shampoo seems...wrong. I don't even see how it could work. lol. :P Maybe it gives you that non-greasy look, but it couldn't actually make your hair clean, could it? I don't know...but it sure doesn't make sense to me! ha!
Can't wait for tomorrow's post! :)

I'm not a fan of liver, but when I had an iron deficiency it worked. I fried it with onions and ate a ton of mashed potatoes with it. It really wasn't that bad. ..I guess I'm in the minority on the liver thing. ;)
How can there be spray on shampoo??
Ew. Ew. Ew.! That was for the liver :-) That spray shampoo isn't all that great. I haven't used that brand, but used several others in my sister's hair last year when she had surgery and couldn't shower for days and days. Didn't like it... - My condolences on the car.~
i have an iron deficiency too. i've never even considered liver. i'm a vegetarian, so i just don't think i could stomach it. ew! the hair shampoo is hilarious! and i feel you on the car thing. i once had to drive around an 81 monte carlo. it made all kinds of scary noises and stalled at every stop sign. people in our sweet small town thought i was a drug dealer... and i'm not sure if you've seen me, but i'm a very small, non-threatening woman. but apparently that car told some stories of its own. :)
i have an iron deficiency too, but also would rather take the sleep option than the liver option! ew!
xxx
Spray shampoo is pretty much awesome. I use the Salon Graffix brand {got it at Rite Aid}.
I had an iron deficiency, too--- when I was preg. had to take a supplement, and my OB said to take it with Orange Juice- it makes it absorb better?!?!? I think her suggestion was way better than the liver... GROSS! :)
I was badly lacking iron when I was pregnant to, and was allergic to the iron tablets, so i just ate lots of iron foods and drank vitimin c to help absorb it. Hope you improve, thanks for the comments on my blog, sweet.
I just found out that I am iron deficient too Carissa. I just thought I was tired from teaching kindergarten. I haven't heard the song you are referring to. I will have to listen to it. Have a great week.
Blessings
