this past weekend, my best friend, julie, with the help of my sister-in-law, becky, threw me a shower! they did a beautiful job and i enjoyed every minute of it! here's a glimpse of the sweet celebration:
i should've remembered that black is a preggy lady's best friend {the pic shown above of me in the purple is the only acceptable shot}. besides, you should just focus on the decor anyways... it was beauty-FULL.
now onto sage's nursery. i have a few things to show you... let's just say it's a work in progress. but i'm ever so glad that progress is being made.
the diaper cake is way too cute to take apart. the pom in the middle is going over sage's crib... along with several others {julie made them for the shower and let me keep them!}. my adorable friend, hilary painted the sage and birdies canvas and surprised me with it at my shower! isn't it the most precious thing?! it matches the bedding. hilary rocks. you must go visit her shop and get a tasteful of her gorgeous talent!
now, i need your help {as i often do!}. help me decide. we bought the plain white changing table for $20. i've had the hardest time figuring out what to use for storage on the shelves. the bins are either too too big or a bit too big. i finally lucked out yesterday and found two options. take a look:
{1} liberty of london. {2} plain pink.
so, what say you?!? with all the liberty craze, i think you might just pick #1. let me say that #2 is about $20 cheaper. so, that might give it a bit more weight. either way, i had gift cards so that is good news!!! thanks for your fantastic design opinions... i love them.
okay, i promise... tomorrow's post will be short{er}.

The pink is sweet, but the Liberty prints are so much more fun! And I don't know what you're talking about - you look awesome!
I like the Liberty of London!!! It's so cute and those can be used again in other places of the house someday (bathroom, laundry room, etc) and you aren't limited to one color scheme as you would be with the pink!
I love your pictures- everything is looking great for Miss Sage!!! xoxo
I am kind out of loop with the Liberty of London hype (though I have seen it at target)
But I like the liberty of london ones. If the pink ones are those canvas ones, they lose their shape after a while, and don't look as firm
oh, and the shower looked lovely!
I would have jumped and said the Liberty London ones right away, but $20 difference has got me questioning that haha! they are both cute, but if you are looking for a little spice of color then the 1st one! However sometimes in a nursery simple is the way to go!
Lucky girl to get a second shower! It looks so pretty and lots of delicious stuff to eat!
What a beautiful shower! So, so exciting. I bet it's really beginning to feel close now :-)
Can't wait to see lil' Sage's room. I'm lovin' the Liberty of London bins. Good thing I can't see the rest of the room. I would probably stand there for hours switching them in and out, in and out, in and out until finally asking my hubby, contradicting his opinion, then switch them in and out a few more times until finally making a decision.
I'm sure either one will look great :-)
sorry i missed the shower :(
number 1 without a doubt. forget the $20 and go with the cute ones! :)
LIBERTY! That is my favorite Liberty of London print, and I've been debating on getting these myself for my work in progress sewing/wrapping station/craft room.
I love the Liberty of London... but I am always always for saving money. However, gift cards make spending much easier :)
How stinkin fun! Love that diaper cake! So fab! Looks like you had an amazing time and you look gorg as always! :0)
I can't wait to see Sage's room! I am lovin the Liberty of London bins because they just look so fun and add different pops of color! Ya know I'm all about color LOL....
Soooo movin right along I just love the pom poms....those will be super cute hanging from the ceiling....
have a fab Thursday
xoxo
Summer :)
I say Liberty of London! If you have the gift card then...why not! ;) These baskets compliment the sage walls really well. Hope all our imput helps! Good Luck.
Ashley
The Liberty is just too cute! The nursery is going to be adorable. I just can't wait to "meet" Sage!
You look great in the purple--totally rocking it! And the shower looks super cute. I LOVE the fun colors of number two, they really make it! ;-)
OK, I'm in the minority because I love the simple pink. But that think that's just my taste. I do think they will go with more things in case you change the decor or the Liberty goes out of style. Either choice will be adorable though. Have I told you that I LOVE her name. Perfect.
The shower looks like so much fun! I love the pink pom poms! I say for the changing table, go with a mix and match approach. I would use the two bigger liberty of london boxes on the bottom and three of the solid pink ones in the middle!
Hi girlie,
Great shower. I have that cupcake tower thing:)
I think I'm leaning toward #1. I love color. It adds some interest and punch. #2 would be more practical and you wouldn't get sick of it as easily later on. So it's really a toss up.
Love the shower - everything was so cute. I'm going to have to go with #1, even though they are a bit more expensive, they are so cute!
I like the plain pink!! That way it won't be too much if you want to add other things in there!! You look beautiful & the shower decor was gorgeous!!
pink for sure. i imagine a baby's room being calm... both are cute though. tough choice!!
Everything is so cute! Even you and your sweet purple shirt :) I love all the decorations! I love the liberty bins too...but if you already have lots of other patterns and color in her room, you can't go wrong with simple pink, too cute! The countdown's on! Take care!
Your shower turned out adorable!!! I like the Liberty patterns, too cute!
Your shower looks FABULOUS!!! Glad you got to have some fun!! Purple looks to be a pregnant girl's best friend as well... You look beautiful! I am so excited that you are getting Sage's room ready...We don't want a real "April Fool's Post" any time soon. I think #1 is so cute and different.. It looks like it adds color. Although...#2 is just as cute and cheaper. Either one will look great. Hope you are having a great week...Happy Thursday!! :) xoxox
Ahhhh everything is SO stinkin cute! I love the Liberty London. Definitely! :)
I really like the Liberty of London baskets BUT $20 is $20 and if I hadn't seen the LL baskets I probably would have really liked them :)
Also, looks like you had an amazing shower! It was beautiful!
carissa,
the shower looked oh so lovely.
we are "liberty of london crate twins!!" I have the same crates :) so i will have to choose option #1.
I'm definitely picking #1. The Liberty of London bins are beautiful!! The whole shower looked fabulous. The decorations are gorgeous!!
That shower was decorated so cute! Love the diaper cake, and all those colors are fantastic! That new line Liberty of London is really great!
So, here's the voice of reason...go with #2...think about how many diapers or wipes $20 can buy, or you could get her that adorable Liberty of London dress you like and have some left over for something else! The LOL bins are uber cute though!
Oh my word! The shower decorations are so cute! And I love the stuff you've got going into the nursery. :) I'm a sucker for crazy awesome patterns, so I'd have to say #1, Liberty of London. The plain pink ones are cute too, but if I did those, I'd probably want to tie a cool patterned ribbon around the whole thing and tie it in a bow. Maybe something with brown, green, and pink, since that seems to be your color scheme. I don't know though...I really like the Liberty of London ones. And it looks like the pink ones might be too flimsy for the ribbon idea...I can't really tell though. Ok, now I'm rambling. :P
I'm so excited for you!
Love,
--Abigail
how gorgeous!!!! I like #1 the best because I love the pattern ... but I'm always one to chose the cheaper option, which makes me LOVE #2! haha
Either way it will look beautiful! :)
I love the simple pink!!
You look beautiful! And your shower decorations are just too cute! I love the liberty of london...so fun! :) Hope you have a great Thursday!
I love tissue pom poms. What great decorations and you look GREAT!! I voting for Liberty of London-the flower give more oomph.
Floral for sure. Are those the ones from Target? I thought I saw them there the other day and admired them but in my testosterone filled home they'd never fly :)
And that looks like a truly lovely shower!
i am soooo on the liberty london craze! i love love love that one!!!
your shower was so beautiful! sage is a rockin name! congrats...i can't wait to see pics of you holding your little girl!
Precious shower! Aren't baby showers the best?! And I LOVE how Sage's room is coming along. I know you are loving decorating a little girl's room. I definitely like option 1 best. The extra color is fantastic!
I love the liberty print because it is fun! But I think I would go with the pink because you will be more likely to use them longer and with more things if you change or update her room down the road.
You could always dress them up with cute little tags or labels for what is inside, too. Or you can add silk or felt flowers, or stencil/paint something on them.
I would go with the pink - I think the libery is too busy with too many of them. If it was just one or two, then I would say that. Plus, I bet you use the pink ones later on!
I like the liberty print also! So cute and adds a little pizazz :)
As a Kellie, I agree with 2 other Kellys above. I like the Liberty ones BUT I would have to go with the solid pink. You can always decorate with smaller touches of Liberty. That way when the craze is gone or the mood calls for a change, it will be easier/cheaper to make the adjustment. You could go with a smaller splash of that Liberty pattern such as a throw pillow, picture frame or lampshade. Let us know how it goes!
Cute! I'd go with the pink. If you could mix and match that would be good too. Do maybe pink liberty pink...then liberty pink liberty.
But if you can only do one or the other...do the pink. She can use them a long time that way. I had the canvas bins on E's changing table in pink turquoise and purple. When she out grew the table, I put them in her closet on the top shelve and they are super cute in there and hold so much!
Don't apologize about making your post shorter...because there are readers out there like you and I who actually read the whole thing and care:):) First of all, the shower was beautiful. Are those balls hanging from the ceiling from Lily P? I just got some in the mail to do a review for them.
Secondly, I really like both choices, and usually would go towards the cheaper option...but I really like option 1 the best!
Wow! Flown to Italy to sing in a wedding! Hubby and I sing in weddings as well! But ours have barely taken us outta the state! LOL
BTW I love the Liberty line but in this case I'd prolly go plain pink. Maybe mod podge on some labels made of white/pink polka dot paper or smonething to add a lil punch!
Im sure whatever you do will be fab though! Congrats again on your soon to be bundle!!!
that nursery looks so cute! We have similar styles! ;) I bet sage will be this petite little girl with a big bro to watch out for her! I'd mix liberty and the pink to give a little funk, or you could add some chalk paint labels to the all pink ones to add some variance. Either way, they're both adorable! We have the same changing table and it's great!
What a sweet shower!
I have bookmarked the directions to those pom poms. I want to make some for my daughter's room in our new house.
On the bins, I'd combine the two! Two Liberty of London on the outside, one solid pink in the center.
What a fun shower! I personally am drawn to #1 (and don't care about the "name" that goes with them, ha ha). I like them with with color scheme and think they will transition to a "big girl" room or whatever you would want to do with them later. Be blessed in your preparations to welcome little Sage! I always say since God chose to only give me one, I'm glad (for purely meaningless fashion & decorative reasons) she was a girl. Which is funny, cuz she'll be 18 this year and doesn't care much for fashion, decor or traditionally "girly" things.
Ha ha, Abigail's Aunt is rambling, too.
It'll be great whatever you choose!!
Lisa
Your shower looked so cute and perfect! And you look fantastic!
I'm a fan of the liberty one, although I am a frugal girl so it would be hard for me to not lean towards the pink ones too. I like the fun touch of color with the liberty. They both look really good though. I have seen some with pink, green and brown stripes too that would look cute. Can't wait to see the finished nursery!
I love the liberty ones but you could always buy the cheaper ones and get a good fabric and use it as a little blocker/ drap thing. Okay, I notice that was a terrible description, but I mean something like this :
http://modpeapod.com/catalog/images/Tie%20Top%202%20fabric%20drapes.JPG
but infront of the draws. Just an idea.
What an adorable cake!
I am all for the Liberty of London option! It's more bold, which I love.
Looks like you had an awesome baby shower!
Your shower was SO cute!
I'm so indecisive about tings so I would have a hard time choosing between the two baskets...I like them both :)
I'm terribly in love with the Liberty prints~ I've been drooling over all that stuff at Target! Looks like a wonderful shower!
the liberty prints are adorable (and all over paris right now).
also, they won't show stains as quickly as the pink.
so excited about your precious sage!
Loving the liberty! Love the pops of color!
LOVE the Liberty line at Target, my FAV! You should definitely go with that for the storage bins. Pink is cute, but the other print is FUN :)
And the purple looks great on you, its my current fav color!
Love the name Sage, super adorable!
Have a great day!
what a CUTTTTE shower! how absolutley adorable! i love the pom poms and the cake looks delish!
and you gotta go with liberty of london... insanely cute.
and i love that we both used sage... and i think it means i'm as cool as you!!!!
i'm trying to tell what the sign on the right of sage is? her middle name maybe??
i like the pink ones and them being cheapter is a plus! (the other ones are super cute, too though!)
Oh, what a sweet & beautiful shower! LOVE baby showers! :) And you look great, I dont know what you are talking about! :)
Love the canvas for Sage's room!!! Also love the white Jenny Lind changing table (love classics!)-- I love the Liberty boxes!!!! But the plain pink ones look good, too, if you decide to go for the most cost effective ones... But I LOVE the LOL ones~! :)
I guess I don't know about the liberty craze.. I really like the plain pink. Simple and pretty. :)
What a lovely shower your bff and sissy.in.law threw you!! So SWEET! I love hosting baby showers.. and I'll probably want to host my own when I have a baby! ha ha. I love the Liberty of London bins, so I choose that one. :) and I love your daughter's name! Beautiful.
Hope you're having a lovely day Carissa.
xx Love & Aloha
Everything looks so cute! Looks like your shower was a success!
I love the Liberty of London look :) It's so much fun seeing girl things for a change!
Liberty of London. But both are cute so no matter what you decide the nursery is going to be adorable! ah makes me want to have a girl.
i am IN LOVE with the liberty ones, and i say if they were bought with gift cards, that is one more reason to keep the more expensive ones and give the room a pop of vibrance!
What a fun shower... Love the tissue paper lanterns! I love the Liberty of London look. Fresh and fun!
how did I miss the Liberty of London decorating stuff?! Maybe my Target is slacking! Your pics are so cute!
Looks like such a lovely shower. I love showers they are always such wonderful afternoons.
As for the changing table... could you use the solid pink on one shelf and the print on the second shelf. Maybe if you added tags to the solid pink, that could gussy them up a bit?
Hope this helps.
How fun, getting to decorate a new nursery. I'm so excited for you.
they're the best shower decorations ive ever seen! seriously cute!
Definitely the liberty storage!!!
xxx
hmmm....I love the liberty of london bins...I think it makes that table way way fun! thanks so much for my fabulous bday present!!! You are way too sweet to think of me! I LOVE it! I mean LOVE it. and also...i am totally going to rave tomorrow in search of those pink pants for $16!
I like the pink!! Don't really care for the Liberty of London, maybe I am in the minority for that, but oh well.
Your baby shower was so cute Carissa! I love the decorations, and the way you are setting up the nursery looks incredibly well organized :) those pretty floral boxes add a nice touch. Your blog is adorable!
Looks like the baby shower was so fun! :) I love all the decor. I love Hilary's painting!!! She had mentioned a few days ago she was making something for you, it's exciting to see what it is!
I have to say, totally go for the Liberty storage boxes. Especially if you have gift cards! They are so much cuter! :)
Looks like your shower was so much fun! I am going to be throwing one in September and am so excited about it.
I think you should do both, mix and match! That would be fun!
You look adorable :) And the party was a success, a cute cute success! I say do the pink ones. They are just lovely! xx
i LOVE the poms poms! your party was soo cute! and i vote liberty!!!!!!

I love liberty, if you have the gift card, it's a must!! I would also decide depending on what colors the walls in the nursery are. I like my things to match. =]
those bins are perky & bold, love 'em! I live the canvas as well!! Definitely will check her out!
Your shower looks super pretty!
Friday following you..=]
Okay:
1. You are an adorable preggo momma! But I know what you mean...I hated looking at pictures of my shower after. Why did I have to look the way I felt? You though, it's only that baby getting bigger!
2. CUtest shower ever! You are such a lucky girl!
3. Pink. YOu can do so many other crafty/creative things to add color, go with simple for the big things. Those could be used after the changing table is done too!
liberty of london girl! Also, thanks for the shout out. I think the painting is pretty stinkin adorable and everything else you have picked out for sage! I can't wait to come over and see her room! She is already so stinkin precious and she isn't even out of the womb!!! :)
Oh I looove all the gorgeous decor for the shower! So much fun!!
The liberty storage seems more sturdy and give the room a more vibrant look. The colors really pop and add a playful feeling to the whole space. So if you are going for a more playful, bolder colored look then they are the way to go. Now if you wanted a more subdued, more calming style, then I'd go with the pink.
Personally, just from the tiny preview you've shown us, I'd go with the liberty. They seem to bring out the tones from the paint in the wall and make the cushion on the changing table more rich looking as well. Either way it is going to be one adorable nursery and I can't wait to see all the pics!!
xoxo,
Bonnie
PS Thanks so much for your sweet comment over at my blog. :)
Carissa- I want your friends! What a gorgeous shower, it looks absolutely perfect. I completely love it. I also love liberty of london I think its cute and hip while remaining useful as Sage grows. But either or is very darling. 7 weeks, wow!
Looks like you had a lovely and totally chic baby shower! What fun! Actually, I kinda like the plain pink. Seems like if you go w/ the pattern, you might be limiting yourself on the rest of the room b/c that is such a big statement. You'd have much more flexibility w/ the pink. Besides, you could always jazz them up w/ cute little fabric flowers or stencils or something! Hope you're having a great day. Any fun weekend plans?
Another new way to love Liberty of London. What a fabulous idea... SO cute!
choice #1 is super cute. recently, I purchased a bunch of storage bins for my closet. I was in the same situation, one was patterned, the other was plain brown. I went with the pattern. It just added a little extra spice. :)
What a fun shower! That Sage is one lucky baby girl! Allie has the plain pink, but I'm loving the Liberty of London!
Liberty of London. So incredibly C.U.T.E.
Beautiful shower pictures. You are blessed.
Too many comments to read thru so sorry if this was already suggested. How about 3 pink 3 LoL? You can alternate them. Pink, LoL, Pink for the top and LoL, Pink, LoL for the bottom.
Although I love the Liberty (having bought myself a diaper bag in their print a few weeks ago...), you had me at "$20 cheaper." I'd suggest maybe finding a yard or so for a brightly printed fabric similar to that and using rectangles of that as labels on the front? Or making a ribbon of the fabric and wrapping it around the box?
This way you can use the totes longer, even after you change up the decor. Good luck! Both are adorable options!!
Oh and how sweet of your friends! The diaper cake and decor are absolutely adorable and you look great. And I'm gonna tell you again... I looooove the name Sage!
I love the shower details. And you are looking so great!!!
And about the sun.... I was always red on my teens, nowadays, I run away from the sun ; )
I LOVE the liberty of London. I could only read a few posts up and thought alternating the pink and LoL too. would be cute too.
I vote 2!! :) LOVE LOVE LOVE the blog!
What about a mix? Then you are not spending quite so much, but have a little pizazz and not just plain pink (but I love those fabric bins...I have red ones).
lovin' the floral ones! As if I'm not in Target enough already....it will be so bad when we have kiddos! Love the accent the floral gives to sweet little Sage's changing table! (Either will look great, though!) You could consider the fact that the floral ones may grow with her as she gets older though, too. They would make great accents in her room no matter the age/stage. (Although the pastel pink is precious for little ones, sometimes it might not grown with every gal's room tastes.) Just my two cents, for what it's worth! :)
i am totally a follower! always have been. ;) this giveaway is way too cute. puts mine to shame haha.
xo.
ooops! i just realized i posted in the WRONG post! i meant for that to go on the giveaway one.. can you please enter me in that. thanks. :)
xo.
OH I just love all of the liberty of London. So that is my choice. BUT the pink is great too and if it saves $20 then why not? Riiight? :)
The shower looked fabulous. All the decor was just to cute! AND so were you missy!
AWWWW we have the same changing table...I think. Debi picked it up for me at Once Upon a Child.
