a fast five dollar fix.

{i must say that i'm oh so very excited about next week's kitchen help post!  you shared such helpful ideas!  thank you times a million.  i hope we all can learn new things... i know i certainly did!  if you still haven't entered the wanna clinch a clutch giveaway, you have until friday morning... so hurry already!}

before:
remember this little {un}beauty {i.e. - the lamp}?!?

i mustered up a tiny bit of brain power and came up with a fast five dollar fix for beautification purposes.

i love to be crafty but no one has ever mistaken me for ms. stewart.  needless to say, i like crafts if they're quick, dirt cheap, and super easy {i.e. - no sewing is allowed to be involved... i can't even sew on a button... hence, if you've noticed as of late, my man certainly didn't marry me for my homemaking skills}.

my materials:
pink ribbon, scissors, glue dots, martha stewart stickers.  yes, i said stickers.  this is my kind of craft.  especially since i spent less than $5.

after... five minutes later:

wa-lah!   i think it turned out halfway decent since my hubby's response was: "hmm... it's better than i expected."

In my world, stickers are totally crafty. Totally. :) Plus, I would have probably just stuck them on...you thought of glue dots. I'm impressed!

I think the lamp is quite charming...great job!!

Now for the clutch, when you random generate I'm praying that the little comment of mine gets close. hee hee hee

Blessings,
Rachel

It's perfect!!! You're my kinda craft girl. Stickers and glue all the way. And those words coming from the Hubs are better than we could hope for, ha! Can't wait to see that sweet baby girl!!!! If I was your neighbor, or even lived in the area I'd be making you some freezer meals and planning suppers for after you have her. I hope someone you know will be making ya'll some meals! That's one of the best parts of bringing home baby...other people bringing you supper. ;)

wow, look at your mrs. martha stewart sidekick!! i LOVE looking at revamp/renovations and ones that i could possibly do myself and are QUICK are even better!!

Abigail Kraft said...

Cute!!!! Oh my word...I totally know what you mean. I have actually taken sewing lessons a couple of times--made my sis a skirt one time too. It was actually really cute....but that's beside the point. The point is, sewing is probably one of my least favorite things to do! Especially when it's something like sewing on a button. Like, what kind of gratification do you get from that??? lol.

But...I'm also a very crafty person. As a matter of fact, when I was about....12 years old, I guess, I had a little scrapbook photo album business. I designed my own business cards, and hand-made these fold out accordion albums. They were pretty next level, if you ask me. Unfortunately, my grandma ended up buying most of them. Ha! Oh, and my "business" was called Abigail Grace Krafts. Hahaha! Isn't that just the awesomest business name you've ever heard?!

Oh, and Martha Stewart was my favorite "non-fiction" (lol) TV show from about 7 to 13. Before that, it was Price is Right. I know....random.

Have a great day! :)

What a difference. Now the lamp pops! So cute.

It's ADORABLE! I love it. SO cute and artsy-fartsy. Martha Stewart...heheheh. I used to be a big fan of hers. I like Rachel Ray better now. Didn't Martha go to jail or something? That was when she lost her biggest fan.

Anywayserz - cooking shows are always funner to watch then sewing shows (is there such a thing?). I love Rachel Ray. Heheheh. I have to have some carrots on hand to snack on because cooking shows make me hungry, and carrots are better than chips.

Now I'm really rambling. Two things: LOVE the lamp, and love your creativity! :-)

Have a lovely Thursday,
Bekah
