miscellany monday. grab the NEW button and join in!

grab the button and link up below!  i'd love to have you!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

yes, miscellany monday has a new and wayyyy better look... all thanks to the extremely talented hannah at vivid design studio!

{1}  i never fully realized how big double strollers are until we put ours in the back of our car.  goodness gracious... talk about massive.  i'm not quite sure where the groceries are going to go.  hmmm... good excuse to go grocery shopping alone!  : )

{2} adoption... taking orphans out of this world and bringing them into a family to be cherished and treasured.  i have three stunningly beautiful nieces that were adopted {one is still in the adoption process} so adoption is near and dear to my heart.  click to enter a giveaway to win a love is not a color t-shirt that is bringing attention to adoption over at charisa's for such as these.  also, visit lauren's living by faith to check out her block party blog sale to help raise funds to bring her baby boy home from ethiopia!

"learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless..." - isaiah 1:17

{3} angel soft is neither soft nor angelic {which is a real bummer since it costs just as much as the good stuff}.  they should be fined for false advertising.  devil hard would suit it much better.  this goes on the don't buy list right along with scott tissue.

{4} ice, ice baby.  all my life i've been drinking water luke warm or room temperature.  just as of two weeks ago, i've become quite acquainted with ice.  i can't get enough of it.  i eat it plain {gasp!  it's so bad for your teeth and i'm ocd about teeth... that goes to show just how much i love it} and fill up my water glasses full of ice.  the husband said that after years of trying to convince me of the goodness of ice, he's glad i'm "humbly accepting the maturation of my tastebuds."

{5} you should know that if i disappear off the face of my blog it's likely that i've gone into labor.  i'm 11 days away from the d-date and my first was 17 days early.  so, any second now, i'll be meeting my precious babe.  oh, and last but not least, {although this will be the last one} here's a belly shot: {in an effort to let sage know that her mama loves her just as much as her big brother... even though he got his very own pregnancy journal and she didn't... }

You look uber cute, as always! I'll be praying for a fast and easy labor, too. I imagine you are d-o-n-e. :)

You make pregnant look so adorable :)

So glad that you like the button! I loved making it for you. :-)

Strollers are very big. It's practically an invitation for no room. "C'mon kids, climb in...somewhere." That being said, I love our strollers. It makes it soooo much easier to walk around somewhere.

I love adoption, and truthfully, I'd like to adopt kiddos (as well as have my own) when I'm older. Adoption is so precious and so sweet. :-)

Angel soft, eh? I'll remember that. And I'm glad your tastebuds have matured too. I'll sometimes eat ice plain (used to more when we had an ice/water thing on the fridge). It's so good...plus it has 0 calories! ;-)

OooH! So excited for, Carissa! I can't wait! If you disappear, we'll know why. And if you come back and your inbox is filled with comments, you'll know why as well. :-)

Lots of love on this lovely Monday,
--Hannah

PS, your belly shot is uber cute. :-)

How cute are you! Adoption is dear to my heart too...my sister is adopted. Such a beautiful thing. So glad you discovered ice. I really only love it in my water, but I fill the cup with mostly ice and add some water. Ahhh! I'll have to remember not to buy Angel Soft, ouch! Hope you're getting rest and can't wait to "meet" Miss Sage!

First of all...super cute belly :) you look gorgeous! I'm sure you're ready to meet that sweet little girl ;)

And I agree with the toilet paper! I use charmin...it might cost more, but it's worth it to me! take care...and I remember having a double stroller with Alex and Emily...definitely takes up LOTS of room! they still seem to take over every other space in our house still, too! ;)

You look adorable and so tiny for a second child. Yes, Sage will be here soon. My little boy was also two weeks early.

Kelli @ RTSM said...

You do not look big enough to only have 11 days left! I know you are so ready for Sage to be here though:) We had a side by side double stroller that really wasn't too big. What kind do you have?!?

You are such a beautiful preggo mommy!! I love the name you have chosen for the baby!! How exciting!! <333

You look so precious!

Love the adoption shirts! I have two cousins that are adopted, so it is also near and dear to my heart. I will be entering that giveaway :)

You are glowing in that picture! I love it!

Happy Monday, Carissa! :)

I hope I look this good when I get pregnant again ; )

As for the icy water.... My husband has this (weid ) rule: at his (our) house it will only be served icy drinks, since his mom never let him drink cold drinks as a child ; )

Summer said...

You are so precious girl! Love that top and you are rockin' your new hair style!! I am getting super excited that Sage is almost here! eeeeek!!

I want to be pregnant when I see cute photos like this! But I know some waiting is still in the picture :)

Hope your little lady comes soon!

Shelby Bukhenik said...

Ugh thats why I have held off on buying the double stroller, they are so huge and expensive!!

I love me some icy cold water!! haha!

That baby belly is adorable and we are sooooo close, 8 days for me. But you may be earlier than that, so good luck!

Farmgirl Paints said...

I ate ice when I was pregnant too. It's actually a physiological thing... I think:) You are adorable and I'm keeping you in my prayers girl.

Alely L. said...

you are just too cute girl! funny, the first child always gets the most pictures, the complete baby book, etc...the 2nd not so much...the 3rd even less and so on... well, that's the way it was with me. i know, shame on me!

Mrs. Jennifer said...

Babies are so tiny, but baby accessories - massive. Hmmmm.
Also, I think ice cravings have something to do with low iron. Not sure, but that's in my head for some reason. You should check it out.

Kimberly said...

You look stunning!! My two girls were two weeks early!!

Mrs. Hesson said...

My husband gives me a hard time because I love ice so much. Anything I drink has to be full of ice. When he gets me a refill he puts SO much ice in it. Ha!

And you look absolutely presh. Soo soon! :)

Your hair is beautiful!!! And you are glowing... :) Just linked up for my first time today!! Happy Monday!

Kristin said...

I was wondering that very thing (if you had gone into labor) when we didn't hear from you over the weekend! Cute top btw. Oh, and YES! I love the "Devil's Hard" idea. The ONLY tp that will ever enter this house is Cottonelle - on sale or twice the price of everything else, it doesn't matter. Anything else is rubbish. Just my humble opinion.

Jennifer said...

Hi..first time to ur blog..sooo cute.
Love the whole "Miscellany Monday." I will be sure to join in next Monday :)

U look amazing for 9 mos preggers. Wishing u a safe and easy delivery. Looking forward to pics of ur new little one.

Courtney said...

Gosh, you look great for being 9 weeks pregnant. Keeping you and Miss Sage in my thoughts and prayers. BTW, I had an issue with crunching on ice with Presley. Wonder if it's a girl thing?

Kelley said...

bethanyt said...

yes, double strollers are huge! i had twins so we had no options :) i also have a stroller 'thing' so i had like 5 different strollers. the front back ones are easier to push but the side by sides usually fold up tighter. praying for a healthy delivery & baby!

Katie said...

Hey Carissa! I love your miscellany monday posts! I crack up everytime I read them and love your honesty and humor. Hope you have a great start to the week!

Super cute picture :) How exciting that in less then two weeks, you will have another little one to hold.

Beki - TheRustedChain said...

You are hilarious and adorable.

I've always been a No Ice kind of person too. My entire life, I've never wanted it.
Until my last pregnancy when I craved it insanely. Sometimes I'd even chop up ice and a splash of water in the blender. Wacky. And ever since then, I'm hooked! My baby isn't a baby anymore, and I still loooove ice.

Heather said...

1) Thank you so much for posting about the sale!
2) Amen on the Scott tissue-that stupid whispering commercial is enough to make me boycott them anyway:-)
3) You are the cutest pregnant lady ever!
4) I think you just gave me the inspiration I needed to just go ahead and cut my hair! I've really been scared and putting it off!

I hope the labor goes well for you! Congrats. I think it's hilarious you were blogging while in labor-that's dedication:-)

Much Love,
Heather

Jessica Hilton said...

You look so tiny for being nearly due! :-) love your hair cut! I hope you have a smooth and speedy delivery!

I agree with you on the devil tp! Seriously though they should change the name -false advertising ;)

I live in Texas so everything I drink has to have a lot of ice!

Barbie said...

Happy Monday! I remember the days of the double stroller, which is why I sold mine and only would venture out with one little one. You have got to be the cutest pregnant woman on this plant! Can't wait to see Sage!

Liz Kinsfather said...

You look fantastic! I'm a tent when I'm as far as you are...always a week late, too, that doesn't help the bigness factor. And yes, the only thing bigger than me with my second was the double stroller I got at my shower :) Will be praying for a safe, easy delivery!

Diana Mieczan said...

You look so good and the belly is adorable:) You must be so excited for the baby...I know I am ....Have a wonderful day try to take it easy:)

I love ice. The best is that soft crushed ice that some resturants have. So tasty!

And you look adorable! I'm so excitied for yall to have Sage coming any day now! :)

Love the new button!!!

Strollers are big, we only had a double one for a few years... but it was always a hassle for road trips of have to take a stroller... we never took the double one though. It was a pain. Thanks goodness the stroller days are over! lol (I actually kind of miss having stroller races with my siblings lol. They loved it.)

Oh my word yes Angle Soft is Devil Hard. Its definitely miss-advertised!

Water with ice is.... amazing. I hate room temp. water. It is not refreshing. :) and as hot as its been here is Iowa the past few days refreshing is good.

Love the belly shot. Its uber cute :) BTW LOVE the new hair cut. I was kinda busy this week and didn't have time to comment on your last post. But I love it.

K, I so thought i was going to be able to get in a random thought today, but I've been shopping with my college boy (which is a rarity, of course!) and my day's only halfway through...I'll try for some randomness, but if not...I'm enjoying checking out others!!

so happy to link up again! makes Mondays a little more exciting. ;) You are just so pretty!! Any day...how exciting! I HAVE to have ice in my drinks...we went to the Bahamas on a mission trip a few summers ago and ice was so expensive we only had lukewarm water...I had to get used to it then...only then did I realize how precious ice was. :) Enjoy the rest of your week!

Kristin said...

OK...WOW. You look amazing. I can't believe you're so close to the end. I was SO large and in charge at the point! Oh, and we're blog rolling you pretty girl!

Mandy said...

Goodness, you are still the most lovely preggo girl! I can't wait to see that sweet girl of yours! As for the ice, I always heard that people who crunch on it have too much sexual tension... don't know how true it is, but I thought it was funny! =) have a great day!

Mandy said...

Scott Tissue is horrible! DH calls it "Clint Eastwood" toilet paper because it is rough, tough and won't take any crap off of anyone! :/

What is your favorite drive thru place to get ice from? I am a Sonic-aholic! Did you know that they will sell you a BAG of their ice (like, a 5 pound bag!) for $3? GAH! Thinking about it makes me want to drive all the way there for just a cup of it!

Carrie said...

You are so cute pregnant! I cannot believe you are just days away. Gracious, you look like you feel amzaing. Loving the short haircut. I wish you the best of luck on an easy, safe delivery (saying it now, just in case it's tonight ;)

Agree 100 percent on the toliet paper and the huge-ness of a double stroller. How do you get those big ol things through a door is my question?!

Mandy said...

Carissa, I am having the hardest time picking up the button and making it work in my blog post! Am I doing something wrong? I'm basically just copying the stuff and pasting it. I don't see much margin for error. Help! I'm such a noob!

Tamara Nicole said...

OMG look at you and your adorable baby!!!! Congrats:-O

Mandy said...

I did it! It was just as you suspected. I was in "HTML" and not the other. Thanks!

Karisa Tells All said...

Lookin' good! And how nice of you to warn your readers about your impending blogosphere absence. I skipped out for the past week and half without a peep. Oops!

Linds said...

I laughed so hard at your angel soft comment! I couldn't agree more! I actually get the members mark (Sam's club brand) ultra soft, which is the knock off of Charmin. It's cheaper, just as soft, and thankfully doesn't clog up the potty (since DH has issues with using a bit TOO much TP!).

Laura@Cowboy Boots said...

haha i had a thought yesterday that since i didn't see ur monday post that you went into labor...i realized i didn't scroll far enough down the list! haha

Anne said...

You look amazing! So beautiful. Can't wait to see a picture of your sweet girl.

when we went to NYC last year we bought a side by side stroller from graco. it's way nice. and not as huge as our back/front one was. it worked great in NYC too.

you look great. and i think i'm as big as you and have WEEKS not DAYS to go! can't wait to 'meet' her!!

Jasara said...

Very cute pregnancy pic! Not many can pull off the cute happy look that close to term! I couldnt!!!

and the craving of ice is actually a form of Pica. They have linked anemia or low iron to women craving non nutritional things such as ice but its still not difinitive. Although most who started suppliments after the cravings, noticed they went away! I loved ice with my last two pregnancies esp the air ice like sonic has!!!

Praying for a healthy Sage and a quick recovery for you!
