the rules: keep your miscellany as random as possible.
{1} motherhood: you search everywhere for eggless chicken nuggets {because you've heard that even picky eater kid's will eat chicken nuggets}, you find some {they are organic = major score!}, and then your child will not give even the smallest bite the honor of resting on his tongue for just a mere second. so, what happens? mommy ends up eating egg-free chicken nuggets for dinner. they weren't half bad.
{2} speaking of eggless, or not so eggless...
this is hunter on eggs {at 10 mos}:
bear in mind that all of these symptoms were multiplied over his entire body... he also had some respiratory issues... it was a million times worse than it even looks = super sad.
this is hunter after an ER visit, steroid shot and several hours:
aww, much better. so, from 10 mos on... nothing containing eggs has been allowed!
{3} speaking of eggs... which reminds me of food... i'm about to get back on the diet wagon and lose my baby weight. it will be six weeks before i can exercise {well, i might sneak in a run here or there... shhh... don't tell} but, in the meantime, i can start eating super duper healthy! and thanks to lynette @ dancing barefoot on weathered ground, eating healthy got way easier. i won a champion juicer from her! woo hoo! thanks a million, lynette! oh, she's having another giveaway starting tuesday {as in the day after today}... it's a surprise but will be just as superb as this giveaway!
do you juice?
{4} speaking of baby weight... can you believe that i just peed 5 {f-i-v-e} times in the last hour?!? it must mean sage is coming soon. if she doesn't come before friday {as in june 4; as in just four days away} she will most definitely be here then! my doc is guessing sage will be 6 lbs 15 oz. she guessed right on with hunter. so, as of next monday, i'll be at least that much lighter... yay... my bladder is looking forward to it.
{5} sorry for all of the speaking of's.
{6} as we are enjoying this memorial day, let us be quick to remember the countless sacrifices that our military men, women and families make {and have made} on a daily basis. may we honor them always!

I love chicken nuggets! I just wish they weren't so unhealthy. :) I am glad you won the champion juicer. I just love fresh juice, especially the most random combinations (strawberry, kiwi, orange, ginger).
Have a wonderful Memorial Day!
Hey, Carissa.
I went ahead and put my link in for MM (even though my blog is private) so that way you can at least get one more entry:)
Hahaha! I didn't know chicken nuggets had eggs in them...who would have thought. Poor Hunter...an eggless life. And I don't even like eggs that much! Ha!^_^
Love in Christ,
Brianna
Great post Carissa! :) Awww sorry about Hunter.. that just so sad. :( I hope he can eat eggs one day! I love eggs with a passion! Okay, maybe not a passion.. but they're pretty awesome in my book. I bet you're so excited to meet baby Sage <-- and wow, what a great name! Hope you're having a fabulous day sweetie.
xx Love & Aloha
that's awesome you won a champion juicer...SO nice! Join the CO Charleston ranks on the Hallelujah Diet! ha!
Such sweet, precious days to treasure before baby Sage arrives. Although I always am so incredibly impatient the final days of pregnancy (all 7 of them!), I try to treasure them because I know once baby arrives, family dynamics totally change. Your little guy will never be the baby again! So enjoy this next week! Love your blog...
Happy Monday! I linked up... Loved your post~ your poor sweet little guy. Hopefully he will grow out of it! Enjoy your last few days of pregnancy!
Remember going to the bathroom all the time with GG! Can't believe little Sage will be here so soon...thinking of you and can't wait to see pics of the little sweetheart!
I love this link up. It's my fave.
Sorry about Hunter. When my Chloe was little she was super allergic to paprika (I know, I know...how weird...but it's in everything) and would swell up just like that. She's grown out of it and she's 12 now. I don't think it was a true allergy like your sweet Hunter has, but more of a temporary allergy thing. Scary to see them puffed up and not able to breathe.
You are a good mamma to be researching eggless chicken nuggets. If it's any consolation, my kids have never liked chicken nuggets...even the ones with eggs. Well, actually Hannah told me to tell you that she only likes the really good kind. I think that's the kind where each nugget costs $2 so it's not quite cost effective for an easy lunch. :)
Thanks for still liking me even with my scary 1992 picture on my blog.
When I was pregnant with Chloe, the week before she was born I saw Titanic in the movie theater. Now, I was 39 weeks pregnant, sitting in the middle seats, watching a movie with water sloshing everywhere, and a big super mega gulp of sprite being passed back and forth. And I didn't want to miss anything. So....I really needed to use that bathroom when the movie was done. Todd practically had to carry me there. :)
Enjoy these days. They're sweet memories. Next week when Miscellany Monday comes about (do you want me to do it for you??? would that help you out???) you will be snuggling your Sage. This is the last week! You've done it!
Have a wonderful Monday.
Rachel
yay to winning the juicer!! i love watching infomercials and the juicer one is good. but my all time favorite is the food saver. lol. i'm totally serious!
Why is it that they know when you are giving them something that not every other child is having (like the nuggets)...the food battle is frustrating in my house haha!
Can you believe we are at the end here!!! I hear ya with the break from going to the bathroom every 10 minutes haha!
Ohhh poor little guy....I have a juicer too and its such a help when you try to eat healthier....Kisses and he is such a cutie!
Great job on winning the juicer!!!
Have a lovely Monday sweetie!
Kisses
great post carissa! and i'm glad you still kept up with the miscellany monday on memorial day since i did a post too!! i wasn't sure if you were going to take a holiday break or anything hehe. i can't believe sage will be here SOO SOON!! and that is crazy your dr. was right on about hunter's weight! i am SOOO excited for you girl, hang in there these last few days!!
Yeah!! You won the juicer!!! And Happy Memorial Day to you, too!
Can't wait to see that baby girl!! : ) And I hope Hunter tries some eggless chicken nuggies for you today! We have a picky one, too, and it's so hard to get him to eat anything!!!
I can't wait to see pictures of baby Sage!!!!!!!
Oh no! Poor hunter! It must be hard to find Egg free things.
You must be so happy that she'll be here so soon! Can't wait to see pictures of Sage.
Juicers are AWESOME! I don't have one but we DO have a blender and it has been fabulous. I do enjoy a good smoothie! or a Green Monster. I'm certain you will look fab in no time at all!
I can't wait to see pictures of your sweet baby! Hope you have a great Memorial day Monday!
Aw that is no fun for him!
Hope you're having a good Monday!
We eat a lot more chicken nuggets around here than we did before the baby. I was surprised that they aren't that bad, but they have to be cooked in the oven or toaster oven. Poor little guy with the eggs! Hopefully it will be an allergy that he outgrows.
I am just checking in to see how you are doing and about Baby Sage. We have been out-of-town and unable to use the internet! Glad to know that I haven't missed the birth but I know that you must be more than ready. We have been under attack on this trip BIG TIME and I plan to post about it later today. It has just kind of put us in a whirl wind and I am trying to catch up this a.m.
Many prayers being sent up for my sweet friend!
My husband used to do the juicer thing. As long as it wasn't some odd combination, it was pretty good.
Eggs have to be a tough allergy to deal with. The baby's almost here - good luck!!
Ooo, scary! I hope my future kids/hubby don't have allergies. I babysit for a couple little girls who each have EpiPens. Nasty, scary things. Thankfully, I've never had to use them.
Oh my goodness, poor Hunter! I'm glad yall realized what was causing his hives and swelling.
We are juicers!! We love it... It's so much fun and so good for you.
WOOHOO for Sage!! Hope yall had a great 3 day weekend!!
Carissa,
I feel ya on searching for something you think the kiddos will love and then they don't want any part of it haha!! Everytime we drive by Krispy Kreme Kelcee wants a donut so everytime we stop and everytime she licks it and says yucky....will I ever learn um probably not LOL
Awwww yikes on the egg allergy I betcha that scared ya alot....You are such a great mommy he is lucky to have you and you seem so vigilent with him :0)
Wow girlie you sure are going right up til the day Sage is scheduled aren't ya....I betcha your bladder is ready to explode....
Yay on the juicer I have never juiced but I heard it is amazing too or that is what the infomercials say LOL....Girl you are gonna be right back to your pre-baby size as soon as Sage is born you are so tiny....
Loved the Memorial Day and Soldier Shout Out....Amazing....
Happy Memorial Day Friend
Summer :0)
Have a wonderful Memorial Day!
You'll be in my thoughts this week. Here's to the little munchkin comin' into the world soooon!

Carissa ~
Love your hair. Love Hunter eating the oreos. Love that wedding picture!
You asked a bit ago about my shirt...I bought it at a local store called Something Urban. I love that place!
I'm thinking of you this week! Can't wait to see beautiful Sage. ; )
I've juiced before. Too much expense and trouble for me to do it faithfully though. Too bad about your little ones allergies. That's such a pain for you. I can't imagine having to figure out what's in everything.
Little secret for ya...I probably peed 5 times in the last hour too? What's up with that?:) Praying relief for you soon.
Can't wait to meet that new little girl...SAGE. What a beautiful name:)
congrats on winning the juicer!!! that is so exciting! I can't wait to see how you use it... I've never had one but it would be fun to try! :)
I'm glad Hunter is better! He's so cute! I can't wait to see pictures of Sage!! :)
Oh, I am guessing you are pregnant-yay! Congrats! :) I bet you are sooo ready to meet your little one! I found you from fivewalkers.com. My last post was pretty random, so I think I will go ahead and link up! Nice to meet you!
My kids keep telling me what chicken nuggets are made of. Now we don't eat them. I should try the organic kind. And congrats on the juicer! What an amazing prize! Praying Sage comes soon!
Poor sweet Hunter! I loved the picture of him feeling much better. I don't juice, but I've thought about it. Congrats in winning. I remember all of that peeing and it was not fun. Your bladder will get some relief soon. I can't wait to "meet" Sage...my Jamison was 6lbs 15oz. 6/15 is our anniversary so it was pretty sweet! Have a great Monday!
Love your randoms!
What came first, the chicken or the egg? There's just something about eggless chicken nuggets that makes me laugh and laugh.
So excited to meet your baby girl!
And I'm glad you little man is better, too. That is so sad to see them hurting! Isn't it amazing that there are things to fix it, though?! Have a good week, Carissa!
Ah poor baby. Micah had a similar experience except his was with peanut butter. Now I carry an EPI pen and children's benadryl with me just in case. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. :)
That poor little guy! OHH Can't wait to meet baby Sage!
Still hanging in there, huh? Less than 5 days to go! That's exciting! I check back here often anticipating the big announcement... Yes, I'm a juicer. And I love it. And I'm jealous that you win so many giveaways :-) Must've been born under a lucky star :-) Boo for egg allergies. Hopefully he'll grow out of it, and SOON!
The second favorite part about having a baby (first being the baby) is getting baby off the bladder. That is SO annoying! So excited to hear the news of a new baby in your arms. June 4th is Abigail's birthday! :)
I might have to join you in this Miscellany Monday sometime. I'm about as Misc. as they come - so I might do well with it! :)
I enjoyed my visit - oh, and how sad to see Hunter so allergic! I've looked like that a time or two (or ten). No fun.
Take care Carissa! Let me know when you get your awesome juicer!!!
Love,
Lynnette
When I read that Hunter has an egg allergy, I just kind of thought, "Ah, well, no eggs for him." But then...I thought about all of the stuff that contains egg ingredients -- holy moly! To think of all that you have to eliminate... Wow!
You're such a great mother. You inspire me.
P.S. Not long now, and Miss Sage will be offa that bladder! ;)
Poor Hunter! My daughter had a similar reaction when she was 5 months and reached her hand into my bowl of mac and cheese...so scary! We're almost through all of her food allergies - hope you are too!
How exciting that you'll meet your daughter in a few days!!!! I am praying for her safe delivery. Can't wait to see pics :)
Yay! Love Mondays...although we are just getting in from our typical Memorial Day weekend at the lake, so I'm gonna post about that (eventually, lol)...but I just gotta say: I always love your Monday posts! If Sage doesn't come on Hannah's b-day, Sage can come on my Ally's b-day, June 2nd :)
And YES!!! I juice!! And LOVE it!!!!! I juice EVERYTHING...seriously! Mostly strawberries (makes sorbets soo much more efficiently), but I also juice oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, apples, carrots...omgoodness, I'm a juicin machine...you're gonna lOvE it!!!!
Hunter is SO adorable!
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO YOU!
aw poor hunter! that breaks my heart! and i still can't believe he is allergic to eggs! so sad.
but he is seriously way too cute! glad he is okay!!
Hope she comes soon!! You sound very patient though :) Enjoy the last few days of being prego!
Congrats on winning a juicer! That's great. And peeing 5 times, sorry to hear about that but that just means you're almost there! Yay! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
I cant wait to see little sage! Hope you are hangin in there!
Sorry about your little guy!! That sounds terrible! I forget that he is really close to my little E's age! Hope little Sage comes sooner than later!
I'm sad I missed MM this week! I can't believe Sage will be here so soon! Can't wait to read about her arrival!
i know you must be itching to run...but don't do it! i have a friend who was WAY too active right after she gave birth and she's still suffering the consequences.
Of course, I say this never haven given birth..so I know it's easier said than done ;)
So sad I missed out on this miscellany! I had a crazy busy weekend. Hope Sage gets here soon soon soon!!
I forgot to link up yesterday! :( But i did join in on the fun!
Poor little Hunter. You're such a good mom, working so hard to find eggless goodies for your little man! Good luck on your last few days of this pregnancy!!! :) I can't wait to meet the new addition to your fam!
june 4th....is my mom's bday. she's the greatest woman i know...
june 4th is also the 5 yr anniversary of hubs and mine first date! rock on!
i keep logging on to see if you aren't posting...b/c we all know what that means!
praying for a terrific birth for you!
congrats on the juicer, glad to see you're still doing well! come on Sage, mommy's ready for you!
wouldn't it be so cool if we had our babies the same day, lol? my doctor was predicting this past weekend judging by how far along I had progressed on Thursday, but I was holding out for after memorial day. keeping you in my prayers, can't wait to hear that you've gone in! :)
Poor Hunter, it doesn't even look like him. I feel so bad!
Aw...poor sweet little guy :( Alex has allergies, not food, but seasonal and dust and things like that. He gets shots every week...it's no fun, but it helps! Glad he's doing better!
Can't believe your little baby girl will be here in a matter of days now! I know you are ready to meet her and relieve your bladder :)
Best wishes and take care! She will be a little peanut :) Alex was 6lbs 4oz, he's still a little guy!
you must let us know how your juicing goes! i don't do it but i've heard great things. your little one is too cute though i had no idea eggs could do that to a little one! the poor thing.
Hey carissa,
I saw this and wanted to share... I don't know if you or Kelly has an iphone, but it's an app that helps readjust recipes for food allergies... i.e. eggs for Hunter.
http://www.simple-momreviews.com/2010/06/food-allergies-theres-app-for-that.html
Just wanted to say you are in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow!! Can't wait to see pictures of your beauty!
I just have to say that I heart my champion juicer!! And my parents have one and juicing has quite literally been a life-saver for my dad and his fight with lymphoma!
