a shortcut.

in an attempt to find ways to get ready faster - especially in light of our newborn's upcoming arrival and well, we have a 15 month old - i hopefully found a shortcut.

now, my real life friends might gasp... i've been talking about doing this for months upon months... and now that i finally did, i didn't tell anyone {besides, of course, the husband, my mom and my bff}. so, yes, surprise, surprise....

i got a short cut. {all thanks to my uber talented hair stylist friend, annie.}

12 inches off to be more specific...

i hope you like.  i am lovin' it.

i would've loved to have highlights too, i think it would trendify the cut even more so, but it's more important for my baby's butts to be diapered than for my hair to look terrificly trendy. {spoken like a true mom}

and it turns out that i'm a hero too... all of my hair is being sent somewhere to be stuffed in a pantyhose and sent out into the ocean to absorb the oil from the oil spill.  no joke.

and, on to much more important things, my sister-in-law, cindy, and niece, libby, just returned from haiti.  thank you so much for your prayers for them!  she met her beautiful daughter, keemberlie, that they are in the process of adopting.  click to read more about their trip... the Lord is so good!

Happy Friday! Your haircut looks so cute! I have never had long hair, because especially with littles, it's just too easy to be short. Love it! And your nieces are adorable!

Love the haircut!! It looks so cute on you! Perfect with your face shape. :) I've actually been growing my hair out for about a year now. I used to constantly have short hair--when I was 11, I actually got it cut into a short "pixie cut". (I suppose that's what it would have been, had I been able to take care of it--which I didn't. lol) It's right below my shoulder blades and layered right now. I've never had my hair long and layered before, but I'm really liking the direction it's going. :)

Aw! Keemberlie is so adorable! I'm so excited for your sis in law!

Have a lovely day, Carissa!

Carissa, you are too darn cute! I love your hair--it falls perfectly around your face. Super cute (in a trendy Momma way, of course). And highlights? You look great as it is! You definitely spoke like a true momma there. I cut my hair at my shoulders about...two years ago, I think it was, and it's grown out to below my shoulder-blades and close to mid-back now! I gotta say...I like short hair, but it doesn't work on me. You my friend, however, look AMAZING with that short cut! (or long, as well.)

Keemberlie is so cute! How exciting for your sister-in-law and your whole family! :-)

Here's to hoping you have a lovely day!

It looks so cute! Have you tried wearing it curly yet? That was the biggest shock for me when I had 11 inches chopped off {about 10 yrs ago}. It seemed SO much shorter when it was curly!

Taylor-Made Wife said...

I love it!! I think I will be chopping mine all off soon too-as an anniversary surprise for my hubby.

LOVE the hair!! Looks great and I'm sure it will be so much easier than longer hair....I did the same thing recently..but you were much more bolder than me. I didn't go as short.
