i must give credit where credit's due and take no credit for my header. it's all the work of my entirely sweet husband. that's right folks, my husband designed my blog header. {you can hold your applause until the end} umm, can you say, wow, what a husband?!?!
so, as you've noticed... the header is a wide {extra wide... sorry if you don't have a widescreen computer} and full of an assortment of pictures and they all mean something to me.
i know you've been dying to know what they all mean, and guess what? i'm dying to share. this works out perfectly.
1 = our sweet hunter @ 14 months.
2 = a really pretty/cool looking flower. okay, maybe i lied... there's one exception... this doesn't really mean anything to me, i just liked the color.
3 = sorry for the kissy face. if it makes you want to barf then oh well... when two people are in love, it's hard to hide it. this was taken on our honeymoon in hawaii.
4 = aww, the majestic redwoods of california. i'm from california and miss it ever so. the redwoods are such a serene place to visit. they remind you just how small you are and how big our Creator is.
5 = a fish. i caught it. i love fishing with my husband {i mean i get a tan while i'm at it, but i really just do it all for the fish}.
6 = hunter during his smash the cake photo session. there's nothing cuter than a naked baby with cake on their face.
7 = a highway. reminding me that the Lord is directing our path.
8 = i'd love to say that i was praying... but really i was just looking down at my dirty shoes. this was during our free trip to italy last october.
9 = a typewriter. how do you think i write all my blog posts?
10 = visiting my family in california last summer at bodega bay, staring into the sweet chubby face of my little boy.
11 = my two handsome boys at bodega bay. my heart just skips a beat when i see this picture.
12 = december 19, 2004. leaving our wedding, heading to hawaii. can you say, excited?!
13 = the golden gate bridge. my home. i love it there.
14 = my 2nd home... lake tahoe. i miss the mountains and all of their beauty.
15 = the graham's making sweet memories together {before kids} on a vacay in may of 2008.
16 = our sweet baby girl. soon this picture will be replaced with her face as the countdown is on {2 days} to hold her in our arms!

Awww, thanks for sharing the details of all your pictures...I love them! The one that always catches me eye is you looking down at your shoes. I totally thought you were just laughing really hard with your eyes kind of squinty....so cute! lol Oh, and my sister lives in San Fran, and her second home is Tahoe! I'm hoping to get out there sometime this year. It's beautiful there!

I love this! And 2 days?! That kinda blows my mind since Luke had to be induced 12 days early. The suspense would be killing me! Either that or I'd be eating everything in sight, calling each one "my last pregnant meal." ha!
So sweet Carissa. All the things that make you smile. A perfect banner over your blog:) Your honey is cute and handy...great combination;)
Love this Carissa! So sweet. And I like that color too--it's nice to have something super vivid there! This was a lovely post...so sweet to see all that the header stands for. Give a big hug to your hubby from....well, from YOU. :-)
Love you, sweet lady! Thanks for being so kind. :-)

Good morning! I was excited to see that I still hadn't missed the birth of Sweet Sage. :-)
I have always loved your header and I am glad you shared the explanation. It lets people see just a little bit more into "our Carissa". These will always be cherished pics since they mark such important milestones (and long hair!).
Before you know it, you will have to update those sweet baby pics with teenagers. Our "baby" turns 15 today! God's timing... things we want to savor seem to fly by and those we are waiting on seem to take forever. Makes me smile when I think about it.
Praying for you and Sweet Sage today as always. Today would be a really good day to have her! :-)
that was so cool to hear about - as a new reader it let me in to your world...a lot!

Sooooo ironic that you bring this up today...
Just last night I showed my hubby your blog and said "Isn't her header cool?".
Right away he said, "I could do something like that... bet it was her tech savvy husband who did it for her".
Too cute!

LOVE the header:) i do graphic design stuff on the side, and i really enjoy the look of it...also enjoy your super cute little boy:) he is precious!
so sad about the egg allergy! do you ever just feel so clueless with this whole parenting thing? like everyone tells you something different, and "you know your child." and really you just want someone to hand you a manual...a detailed, how-to, directional manual. :)
so until that day happens, i love getting to ask questions to other moms raising babies, who passionately love the Lord :)
thanks for explaining the egg crisis, and thanks for being such an encouragement through your blog!! ... and thanks to blogs for making it perfectly acceptable to converse with total strangers via internet and learn from each other's lives:) lol

I'm sorry I haven't been a very good blog friend this week...I was in Houston for an interview... I will update you as soon as I know more... I hopefully find out Tuesday (but I know you will be busy with sweet Sage).
