dear chocolate,
why do you have to be so darn addictive? why is it that my day is not complete without you? why is it that you taste extra tasty over a gigantic, calorie ridden bowl of ice cream?
love, your painstakingly devoted fan
dear extra poundage that needs to be lost,
go away.
love, your worst enemy
dear herbal essence hair mousse,
why must you be so inconsistent? one day you make my hair look like eva longoria's and the next it looks like it has been sent through a meat grinder several times. why must we have a love-hate relationship?
love, your hopeful to have a good hair day today friend
dear coupons,
you are so cheap yet i spend hours finding you, organizing you, and using you. just to save some quarters. i wish i could forget about you. but then i'd feel guilty and my wallet would hate me.
love, your centsible companion
dear vanity,
you're ugly. no i don't look like i did back in highschool, but hips can be a good thing. after all, i did just have two babies in a matter of 16 months. get out of town. i'm tired of dealing with you. besides, haven't you ever read proverbs 31:30? - "charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."
love, your used-to-be friend

Chocolate is WAY too addictive! I was just thinking yesterday {after a very stressful day out with all 3 of my wild boys} that chocolate makes me feel so much better....and I really wish it had no calories:) Coupons kind of drive me crazy too. I love the idea of saving money, but sometimes it doesn't seem worth the quarter!
Too cute, Carissa!
Chocolate is AMAZING... isn't it awful?
Oh, and yes, hips ARE a good thing!
Coupons... coupons... don't even get me started about those little slips of paper... :)
I love this post - do you mind if I copy? :)
In Christ,
Lizzy Rose
Awww...I love those :)
Chocolate is sooooo addictive and perfect for mood boost :) I used to have a few bars at home but I ended up eating them all at once...LOL...
I have a bed hair day today...( very bad)...LOL...My hair product does not love me today...That's how they are sometimes....hahahah
Kisses sweetie and wish you a fantastic day...Hips are a good thing :)
Muah
Too funny Carissa, I am with you on all of them! and girl you look great, I loved that picture in the last post with your hair curly and those killer sunglasses, how do you get your hair to do that. Dont get me started on coupons, I use to be a devoted organized couponer, but now I am lucky if I use 6 a transaction. My problem was I was buying junk that I didnt need just because it was a great deal. Plus it takes up so much time.
all day long I am running that verse through my head...when I am tempted to care about what I look. To be dissatisfied with my body or appearance or even compare myself to my former self (I do that too!) I am constantly having to hear (the version I know)- "Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting but a women who fears the Lord is to be praised" I keep almost writing more and then it is going to end up being a book and I don't want to bore you with a book and I don't have the time to write a book so I have to be done...
These are great letters:-)
Cupcakes were the addiction for me after I had Christian-I think that might be a bit worse than the chocolate!
Extra poundage-yes, I'm sending hate mail too.
I also have a love/hate relationship with most of my hair products...sometimes it seems like if I alternate them or go a day or two without using it that it seems to work again. weird...glad I'm not alone!
Coupons-I cut them and pull them out at the grocery, sometimes buying items I wouldn't have if not for the coupon. Sometimes I'll put them in my wallet "where I can see them" and I forget to use them at the register. It's also a love/hate thing.
Vanity-We're all cursed by this come and go relationship...it's hard. Let me be the first to say, you're beautiful:-}
So funny. I can relate, girl.
loved this! funny and true!
You're so funny! Ditto on all your letters!
You're so cute. Oh, how we can all relate :)
love this carissa! i am on day 2 of going without chocolate and i can't believe it. i might break down today but i have to be strong!
Carissa you are too funny. I heart chocolate as well, but Ive just come to exceptance that it is apart of my day to day diet. eat the dark chocolate, its better for you. ;) oh and try suave mousse. i love it.
Excellent letters, Carissa.
Ditto on every single one. Especially the hips and chocolate. ;)
Have a wonderful day!
Baaahahaha, when they right back, can you get me their addresses too =)
Can I forward that on to the chocolate in my house too please? Oh, and I don't think it's the herbal essence that letter should be addressed to, but maybe the heat and humidity levels??? I know that can take me from fab to drab in 5.1 seconds of being outside! Happy Thursday to you!
love EVERYTHING about that:)
you're a hoot!
I don't have a big thing for chocolate, but I do have a serious love on for ice cream...so much so that I don't even buy it...if I do, it will disappear... When we want to go for ice cream, we actually go to the ice cream shop and buy a cone... LOL!
Youa re not alone, honey!
lol, you are hilarious girl!! ditto on that letter to extra poundage.. i seem to always have that!!
I'm addicted to chocolate too...not a good thing!
oh my goodness, I totally feel for you! I have totally written letters like this before. ha. :)
I just read this outloud to two of my girlfriends. Thank you for the laughs!
i tell myself that nutella is not chocolate and that it is very healthy...and that my coffee won't taste good w/o it...so i eat! ugh!
i agree about the coupons..sometimes the $.75 doesn't seem worth the time spent clipping
We could pass this around like a petition!
Let me tell you the best invention ever - individually wrapped Dove dark chocolates!! One a day is good for you and eat it slowly. It's all you need to satisfy the choco craving. Save it for when you need that afternoon pick-me-up! Some days I live for it!
i feel the same way about herbal essences mousse. my hair never loooks the same with it!!
love this! How I missed you girlie!
Love your letters! Why does chocolate have to be so addicting....mmmmm I am having a love/hate relationship with it every evening drizzled over a bowl of ice cream myself LOL....
I think you hair looks fab but I totally feel ya on hair products....one minute sucess and one minute you want to throw it in the waste basket LOL
Oh and the coupons ugggg it takes forever to clip them, sort them, use them, but if we didn't we would feel guilty....LOL
xoxo
Summer ;0)
Carissa you are too funny!!! love your letters!
Loved this whole post! :)
XoXo

So cute! I agree with you on letter #1 :)
I love chocolate. I totally know what you are talking about! :) Same with the hips! :)
These letters are so great! I loved reading them this morning! Thank you!! :)
Your chocolate letter was so funny. I'm actually off sugar for a month for that very reason! Also, I have a horrible love/hate relationship with coupons, and I hate what pregnancy does to your body image. You are beautiful!
Absolutely loved this post!
I am with your on all of those letters. I hope you get some answers :)I need some answers too ;)
HUGS
Chocolate is glorious.
Baby weight is the devil.
Hair is fickle.
Money is stressful.
And self-image is exhausting. :)
LOL! Loved the letters today! Such a fun post!
i think "random letters" should be a weekly link up... there are always things i want to write a short letter to. just a thought. a musing, perhaps.
Love your letters! I could write a love/hate relationship letter to Diet Coke...the same thing I'm addicted to can also be used to get rid of corrosion on motors? Yuck! And the hip letter....I have those hips and haven't had two kiddos....that doesn't give me much hope for down the road. ;) And finally, I'm having the same issues with coupons. Mainly because we're trying our hardest to eat more healthy and more organic. Those silly coupons keep trying to convince me to buy the "junk" just b/c it's cheaper. Grrr.
Enjoy your day!
oh my goodness, seriously - you should write for a magazine. These are too funny. I haven't kicked my addiction to chocolate either (wasn't addicted UNTIL baby #2!)
xx
oh and i totally second teamus614's suggestion!! ;)
I love these little letter things!! I am definitely going to do it one day!
Thanks for bringing up chocolate. I want some now!!! I feel the same way about coupons too!
ahhh ha ha ha!! Seriously you make my day!! LOVE this! Especially Dear Vanity;) Way to punch him in the face with Proverbs!
Oh no! I just bought a bottle of herbal essences mousse because I had a COUPON! Wish I'd have read this before my shopping trip, lol! :)
I HATE that hair products never work the same the next day!
I just did a devotion on that verse! Love :)
I am completely addicted to chocolate right now.
I loved these letters! They are funny and true!
I just ate some chocolate- couldn't resist... :)
Great post.
Fabulous letters and ones I could write...along with a few other addictions
Blog hopping tonight...Be sure and stop by ...I have a great giveaway this week...Have a great weekend.
Teresa
Girl you are too funny! Love the letter to chocolate and your hips...Could the two be related? They are for me!!! And two babies in less than two years, you look tremendous!!! Be proud!
So good to be back in the land-of-the-living and able to enjoy your wit. I have missed you so! I am afraid I would have too many letters to write if I did this. I did do some "If only" blogging today though, and it is pretty similar now that I think about it. :-)
I am looking forward to catching up with sweet Baby Sage in the next few days and seeing how she has grown. Hope you are sleeping!
Hello friend! Remember me? Haha! I don't know how the heck you are able to be such a good blogger with two precious little ones! I have been SO behind, but am loving catching up! I totally have intentions to play your Monday meme too! I love it and always think to myself that I will play and then there is always something that I blame that gets in my way :(
Sage is so stinkin cute!
Awesome post!! I am so with you on all accounts (except that my babies are 35 months apart so I have less of an excuse...).
Blessings!
I'm postpartum from June 10th. It's not only chocolate that gets me, but little powdered donuts. And chips. Bread, too. Oreos. Rice krispie treats. Oh, and bite-size candy bars in my grandma's candy dish.
The hair? Yeah. Babies will do that to you, but it's probably better to blame the hair product like you are. My kids wouldn't have a complex, then.
Happy Friday. I'm blog hopping over from Julie's Scribbles at 3:30am waiting to give my little asthmatic another treatment.
"dear vanity" was especially good - I'd much rather have my seven children than skinny hips....
This is amazing, I need to write some of my own letters too :) I do love the vanity and chocolate one thou, hope you are well lady and your adorable little family is doing amazing xo
LOVE these :) Chocolate - sometimes that felt like a sanity saver!
The baby fat - ugh! But don't worry too much about it. You've got enough on your plate to worry about being skinny too.
too cute!! love them. I often write those letters in my head too!
my friends used to have a blog for just that.. not sure they keep it up any more, but check it out..
unsortedmail.blogspot.com
