courtesy of these mad skilled photographers...
i'm telling you, i've never seen a boy love a dog quite this much.
they battle over the ball every day.
hunter won today.
2) rent a 10 year old.
3) no thank you disney.
2) rent a 10 year old.
i never knew how awesome 10 year olds were until my 10 year old sister came over last week. she offered a ton of help. an extra set of hands is mighty handy. did i really just say that?! who am i fooling... the pun was most definitely intended. i want a 10 year old to come over every day. i was convinced that we needed to adopt one, but since adopting a child for some extra hands is not a healthy reason, i'll settle for renting one everyday. or having my sister over for free.
on the same day my sister was over, we watched several shows on the disney channel (coincidence none). apparently, every 13 year old is supposed to be a famous singer, making millions, dating, and disrespecting their parents all by the time they're 14. ugh. beyond toy story and mickey mouse, my kids will have nothing to do with the disney channel. instead, we will teach our children to respect authority. imagine that.
4) normally i like coke.
but today i like pepsi. summer told me about pepsi's "refresh project" and i have to tell you about it too. the refresh project donates 250k to a winning charity and one of the charities in the running is juvenile myositis. summer has myositis; a painful debilitating disease, so she knows first hand what children go through with a diagnosis like this. we want your help. click to vote for this charity to make juvenile myositis a memory.
5) i'm fickle.
i cut 12 inches off my hair two months ago. and it's now official... i'm growing it out. i miss pony tails.
6) courtesy of kelly.
kelly is my husband (in case you didn't know). and for the record, kelly used to be a boy name before it was a girl name. anyways, this was his facebook status yesterday after church: "when the drummer in your band tries to start the next song, but you're not ready because you dropped your pick, be sure to remove your face from the mic before you yell, "NO!" Oops..."

Hi Carissa,
thank you for letting me be random today :)
I really love the pictures. They look like they are having so much fun!
I think Disney channel is an odd channel. They should just stick to the original cartoon movies. They are and were perfectly fine and fun. And no one tries to copy cartoon characters ... or at least I hope no one does.
Have a blessed week,
Kate
carissa,
that last one made me laugh out loud! too funny ...
That last one made me laugh right out loud! bahahaha
Thank you so much for the shout out you are the bestest!!
Love those pics...AMAZING!! Hunter is a cutie and I love how much he loves his pup oh and that pic with you and Sage in the background is so pretty love it....
I did the same thing, I cut my hair short after I had Kelcee and then everyday secretly wished it long again....LOL
have a great week girlie
xoxo
Summer :0)
this is your best miscellaneous Monday yet!
I tell people all the time. "We should have had an oldeh kid first."
And I'm giving you a big hearty "amen" on number 3,!
Oh, and great pics!
Visiting from www.imalazymom.com
Aw! I think that Christian is going to be like that with our pups-he already loves to play tug or war with their toys...and ears sometimes (oops).
I so agree about Disney-and Nickalodeon too for that matter...they make kids have unrealistic expectation, and they seem to push the sarcasm envelope just a bit too.
I'm fickle too-although I've never made a drastic change like you. I just haven't had my hair cut in 10 months because I don't have the time and I've been planning on cutting it. Well this weekend I went sans ponytail and curled my hair and my hubs went on and on about how he loves my hair long...so much for cutting it!
Hope you have a fabulous week-I really hope your sister comes over again to help:-)
Heather
Very good points! #6--hilarious! I love the pics. you posted. :)
you bring me back to the beginning mommyhood stages girl! oh, so long ago. my older two are 13 1/2 months apart and boy i was open to renting any help...mom, mil,cousins,friends...just please come over! i highly agree with number 3 but unfortunantly we have disney channel and like you i am fickle...still trying to decide whether to grow out my hair or cut it again! have a loveLee day beautiful momma of adorable munchkins!
I have an 11 year old sister and each time she comes to visit she is an amazing help. Ha! We talked about authority in church just yesterday, I think it is a foreign idea to most. Now THAT is a reason to drink Pepsi...thanks for sharing. Go do through the same thing with my hair, except now I want to put mine short again (this kind of annoys my husband). That Kelly sure is funny :)
those pictures are absolutely adorable! and my husband has done the same thing while leading worship! Too funny!
Those boy and his dog pics are totally precious! What a talented photographer!
That's so great that you have your sister around to help once in a while. I hear you, help like that is always appreciated! I have a 29 year old brother who is much like a 10 year old with Noah but it doesn't make my life easier when he visits! Just the opposite actually because I turn into a referee!
Uh oh on Disney...I haven't paid attention beyond Mickey Mouse Clubhouse :(
Poor Kelly - I bet everyone got a good laugh over it though!
Hope your week ahead is a great and blessed one!
Love what you said about the Disney channel. We don't have cable, so I haven't seen it, but I am sure you are exactly right. It's all over our culture.
Those pictures are so cute! :)
Those pictures of your son and the dog are great! they really capture him and all of his spunk, so sweet! About the disney shows, I have been flipping through and stopped on the "teen" shows, it is amazing some of the things the characters say and do, they have a lot of sugessestive material if you listen. scary! Your husbands status and little incident gave me a good laugh this morning, thanks. Enjoy your littles!
Girl, I totally agree about the Disney channel. Our kids are so bombarded with junk these days! I'm glad we don't have cable, our kids are going to play with sticks and boxes, and their dogs anyway. ;)
Speaking of dogs, I LOVE the pics of Hunter and his pup! Those are just TOO cute!
Yay for sisters! Mine will be coming over a lot when Sprig is born. Praise the Lord for free. ;)
Those pictures are SA-WEET! Amen to #3. I hope Hannah Montanna's career is WAY over before my daughter gets to be a pre-teen.
Have a great week, girl! Blessings to you and the family!
I couldn't agree more about the shows on Disney...the disrespect is unbelievable towards adults. Not cool.
Sweet pictures!
Love the pictures...and I love you in the background getting some awesome shots too! So cute! I usually drink Diet Coke, but I don't really play favorites and drink Pepsi too :) What a great cause! I hope your sister gets to visit often! That is such a great help and I'm sure she loves it too! Hope hubby's okay...it's probably okay to laugh now, right? :) happy monday!
{Oh, and my kids watch Disney...I know what you're saying...But they don't get away with that behavior here! I don't want them to grow up so fast either!}
hunter is adorable...even more adorable when a puppy is around. im so bummed i missed the shot of him hugging pepper with all his might. ahh...did i say.....ADORABLE!
i want to rent mel and i dont even have a baby. she is on check with everything. and pretty cute when doing just dance! :) C.agreed on disney.
i LOLed:) when i saw kelly status last night. it was fab.
basically, it was great seeing yall yesterday(and the day before) brad and i LOVED it!
Isn't it so much fun having a much younger sibling. I have a brother 12 1/2 years younger than me and I've always thought of him as my own and have such a special love for him. He is now 45 years old, but he'll always be my "baby brother." I so agree with you about Disney and their power of influence is so scary. Good for you to make another choice of entertainment for your children. Love, love the photos and love, love Miscelleny Mondays!! Joy abundant to you!
You are lucky you have a 10 year old to borrow for free!! I am sure she enjoys helping and doesn't even realize how much you appreciate it. I love the pics of your son and the dog...he will have another best friend growing up, besides his new sister. And, I too, just chopped my hair like yours and I am really missing my ponytail!
Hi Carissa... I just discovered you blog a few weeks ago and love it! You always post such fun things... thanks for sharing your love for jesus and for being a momma!
You can check out my blog at www.brightredcords.blogspot.com

I am so with you on the Disney channel stuff! I don't get parents letting 3 and 4 year olds watch tv shows about teenagers...it just doesn't make sense! My boys are still watching Dora and Sesame Street:) The boy and his dog pics are too adorable!
I couldn't agree more about Disney! My eight-year-old sister-in-law watches all the shows religiously and she thinks that her life is supposed to be that way. Good luck finding a guy who's ever gonna keep her happy!
lol, funny about your hubs. I TOTALLY agree about the Disney channel. Mickey Mouse and Handy Manny are IT. I'm seriously considering going no-tv and cutting the cable. And I SO understand the short-hair non-ponytail torture. The exact reason why I'll start growing it out myself. But then I always return to my short bob only to begin the cycle again...
One, awesome pictures, you must tell me what camera you use or what editing service:-) Second, I love your post & want to thank you for sharing Random Monday's Love it! Third, 10 yr old's? yep wish I had one too!
The pictures of Hunter and his dog are amazing! Totally frame-worthy. I love your thoughts on Disney and agree 100 percent. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is it for us too.
Hubby's comment cracks me up, love it! I'll have to check out the pepsi project, thanks for the heads up!
My niece is 11 years old and she is great help when she is over. Older kids do definitely help out a whole lot. Love all the pics HUnter. Super cute!!!

i love these mondays...so fun!
thanks for hosting :)
i love the pics of your munchkin and puppy.
Hahhaha...those photos are so cool:) They make such a great friends...Awww:)
From today I will drink Pepsi:)....Thanks for letting me know...:)
I just adore your Mondays....They always bring so much joy to me:)
Kisses,sweetie and see you soon:)
Have a great one:)
This is my first time linking up to your blog! I am soooo excited!
Love the photos of Hunter! He is A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!! I want to come steal him! (Ok, not really...don't call the cops!)
And I cut 13 inches off my hair about a year ago and I want it back, too! It's just past my shoulders now. Thank god!
I love your pictures!
Oh and I am so thankful there is six year gap between my two oldest and two youngest kids. My oldest daughter is like a second mom to my younger two.
I hear you about the Disney Channel. Where did the old Disney go?
Too funny about Kelly. I have a tendancy to forget to pull the mic away when I cough. Ugh!
Happy Monday!
Amen to the Disney channel thing...I loved when The Disney channel was strictly old cartoons and movies? What happened? There's not much of today's tv I would let my kids watch...in fact I'm trying to think of anything...crickets.
I know you probably get sick of hearing it (kidding :) but you have the cutest little boy on this planet! I love the pictures. They're adorable.
And i'm with you, not being able to put your hair in a pony is such a pain!
I really enjoyed my hair short but I am SUPER glad it fits in a pony now. Summer is more pleasurable. I actually liked the stages of my hair growing and will chop it again this fall. :) I want a dog for Gooner...is it incredibly a lot more work? bah. I didn't see any pics of Sage this week and oddly that makes me a little sad. Ah, baby love.
haha oh my goodness...hunter and that puppy just melt my heart. they are such cute best friends!! who would have thought 10 year olds were such great helps?? that's so sweet of her! hm yes, i don't think i'll allow my poor kids to watch much tv at all... oh i will definitely vote for pepsi's juvenile myositis! i'm a little fickle as well...i cute off all of my hair and now i miss just being able to do different things with it. i miss the pony tail as well... kelly cracks me up..oops!! hope yall had a great weekend!!!
I have the respect authority talk with my kids all the time after watching Disney...do they really think that is healthy for our kids to see? I felt the same way after I chopped all my hair off last fall...but I ended up liking it better than my long hair, but I have it just long enough to get a poof pony tail:-)
Oh we women folk...so fickle. I grew my hair out a few years ago and I seriously don't think I'll ever cut it. I just don't look good with short hair. Too bad it took me 30 something years to figure that out. Those were great pics. What a cutie you have.
I really really really love those pictures of Hunter and your darling pooch. ESPECIALLY the one where it looks like the dog is screaming and yawning at the same time. SO precious. Keep those forever. Also, your husband makes silly facebook stati! Hahah. I made that word up.
Anyway, you're so dear. Definitely not even having cable when I have children.
xoxox
My oldest daughter is 10 and is an enormous help. No, she is not available for rental. Don't worry! Your day's coming, Carissa - just keep having babies and pretty soon you'll realize you've got a lot of help around the house!! :) As a mom of 7 you know I'm not kidding!! :)
We watch Playhouse Disney in the morning and its actually really good! Meant for toddlers. Handy Manny is my son's favorite. He is so polite and helpful! But we turn it off as soon as Playhouse Disney is over! Because the cartoons and shows that are on after that, we do NOT like.
My husband and I were just discussing what we really would allow our daughter to watch. Old school disney--like Mickey Mouse, was one of the only things that seemed OK. Fraggle Rock is also an option. It is tough though.
what lovely, lovely photos carrissa!!
My 14 year old is awesome with the kids! Such a great helper! Love, Love, Love the pictures - they are gorgeous!
hahahahahahahaha!!! That's the best facebook status ever!! hahahaha
I love those pictures!!! So cute!
Those pictures are wonderful! I want to see more!
I'm a coke drinker, but I will definitely pick up the Pepsi next time I'm out shopping!
Hi there im a new follower! Your blog is super cute!
hahaha Hunters face is pure happiness! I love how they play with each other! Emma likes to tackle and wrestle with my parents Boston! All in good fun right, anything to entertain the moving babies.
I would like to get in on this renting of 10 year olds! They really do like to chase after the older babies and I am not opposed haha!
Disney channel endorses Miley Cyrus and she is one of the most negative teenagers I have ever seen, so I agree with you completely! I am all about Mickey Mouse playhouse though!!
Totally agree, Carissa! Not only are the disney channel shows trash, but tI agree about the hair to. I cut my hair about 3 months ago, and I am determined to make it grow longer faster. I even researched "How to make your hair grow longer" No results. :) But yess, I do miss ponytails, and I am determined never to cut my hair again. Although, that was what I said last time...
Love the pics...too cute! I know a few guys named Kelly. It's a pretty common guys name down here in the south! Coke & pepsi??? I'm a Dr. Pepper kind of girl!!! Ha! Happy Monday!
Ha ha ha that dog and boy pic is freaking hilarious!!! :-)
happy Monday hun!
those pictures are hands down A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! love them.
i was a coke drinker for 24 years.. i've been pepsi the last two..
happy monday friend! i didn't link up today because i did NOTHING this past weekend (and week for that matter) and it felt GREAT!!
Aw they are both too cute!!
Ugh I hate those disney shows and I seriously I may be 14 years old but even I had rather watch the Backyardigans or the Wonder Pets than I had Hannah Montana or junk like that. But hey, that's just me!
Pepsi has always been better to me! :)
I. Hate. Hair. Cuts. it takes me months to get used to them. I mean I still get it cut but I always hate it for a while. I'm trying to grow it out and all that stuff. But I don't know how long I will last. Haha.
XoXo

amen to number 3! I'm so glad other people want to teach their kiddos that stuff : ) Being a teacher-I know it's definitely few and far between unfortunately!
Wow! people really love your miscellany - you're quite the hit! bra-vo!
I ditched Disney a long time ago. No thanks - I'm not raising a hootchie in training.
P.S. - your friend, Sarah Ann's blog crashes my computer - I don't know if it's others too. Just FYI, it may just be my dinosaur computer!
Those are some of the MOST PRESH pictures! So cute that he loves the dog so much. Instant playmate! Wait till Sage joins in on the action right?!
I totally know what you mean about your hair. I do the SAME thing! I'm trying desperately to just like it on it's way to being long. Not working real well :(
Hey Carissa! I just wanted to ask you if you could guest post on my blog on the 29 of july. I am going to be on vacation from the 27th of july 'till the 11th of august. if you want to do this, do not feel restricted - you can post anything you want. For more info and my password, please email me at

Thanks!!

Oh, my! Sorry to be so late in commenting! We have a dance intensive this week, and I was at the studio from 9:30-3:45. I got home at 4 and have been recuperating since then. Anyhow...
Hunter is one of the most precious little boys I've ever seen! He is such a cutie--those pictures of him and the dog are so sweet. Awww...
An extra set of hands? Tell me about it. We have lots of hands helping. Okay. Cut out about half of those hands. Most of them are just making messes and being kiddos. And Disney? Yeah. It's sad. The disrespect and subtle jabs at the "stupid" parents who just "don't get it" and aren't "fit company" for their teens to hang out with are annoying. Plus the acting is pretty corny.
And believe me, I laughed out loud at Kelly's Miscellany. HA! That's great. Too bad you didn't get a video...:-)
Love the Graham Fam! <3
--Hannah
The pictures are fantastic!
The pictures of Hunter crack me up...it's like he's in his own little world while you all are in the background in a different one. Way too cute! How sweet that he loves his dog so much. How great that your little sis helped out so much! What a blessing! Way to go for going against the grain and vowing to teach your kiddos respect...such a vital lesson. I work so hard on my kiddos at school to teach and model them the importance as well. Happy monday!
bahaha the dog's face in the first picture kills me! Too funny!
The pictures of Hunter and the dog are just precious!
Ugh, I agree about Disney channel...what happened to good old fashion cartoons that taught good values? I'm very unimpressed with child TV these days!
My 8-year-old sis is the BEST babysitter ever...wish I could just bring her home with me until she's a teenager, ha ha!
Those pics are ADORABLE!
hahahaha!!!! SO funny about Kelly at Church!! I know yall probably got such a good laugh out of it. Carson plays in the praise band at our church too and I love the blooper stories that come out of it. I bet that was priceless!hahah!!! and the pics of Hunter and the doggie are SO CUTE!!!!!! I know they are probably BFF's!!! I think we should get Weston a dog too because he just loves them so much. Isnt it so funny how little boys already love puppies and dogs like that? They are such precious boys! Hope you have a great week!
rent a 10 year old is such a great idea! Is there a difference between it being a boy or girl, because my lil bro is not helpful at all! The pictures of Hunter are adorable! You have such a sweet family!
no. 6 made me laugh. and those pictures are precious. :]
oh my gosh carissa... those photos are WONDERFUL! they made my heart melt!!
oh, Carissa..Hunter's facial expressions are PRECIOUS and PRICELESS. I love how we can peep you with baby Sage in the background, too! <3
ok hunter's expressions and the dogs (in photo 1) were awesome!
i know what you mean about 10+ yr olds..i'm never lending mine out! haha
and as for kelly! looooooooove it! wish i had been there to hear that! :o)
These photos are too cute and yes, older kids rock. We'll be visiting with older cousins this week so guess what-free babysitting. Almost. They all just play together and the older kids love taking care of the little ones which takes a load off of moi!
i agree with you... my niece was just here and these Disney shows are terrible... have a nice day!
those pictures are so cute!! love your blog
stop by sometime <3
http://passportglamour.blogspot.com
These pictures totally made my day. I'm a sucker for puppies... LOVE the expression on the pup in that last pic. Thanks so much for sharing!
love love love the pictures.
when i was pregnant (only two weeks and a day ago) i craved coke. loved coke. i had a coke sunday. and had to gag it down. i'm a pepsi girl at heart normally, but couldn't stand it pregnant. yes. totally random. but it sort of fits. :)
you could send your sister here anytime she would like to visit wisconsin. except i don't have disney. but i do have PBS. what a blessing though to have a sister who can come help!
Amen to #3.
