grab it and link up your random musings!

1. milking mama.
and baby. say what?! last week at sage's 2 month doctor visit, we discovered that she is producing milk. the hormones in my milk are causing her to produce milk... if my hormones are strong enough to cause this, its no wonder why i'm a hormonal cyclone on most days.
2. note to self.
dear carissa,
even though hummus beckons you by name at every single grocery store visit, don't let it fool you. i know you love its garbanzo bean goodness, but really, you'll regret it. inevitably, a few hours after eating it, your stomach will turn into a bull riding rodeo. and it's painful. to recap: hummus = gas = painful. don't fall for it's innocent stares.
love, carissa
3. the aliens have landed.
i never realized the outlandish stares our double stroller would afford us... i know what it would feel like to be a mars martian landing on earth and going to target on a saturday. yes we have two babies. yes, we put them both in a double jogging stroller. believe me, there are crazier things in the world.
4. meet your new match.
congratulations to anna at "small things with great love!" you are the winner of the gorgeous necklace from stephanie at bella regali. i'm certain you and the necklace are going to go perfectly together. (the winner was chosen at random... just take my word for it... at the moment i forget how to take isolated screen shots.) anyways, even if you didn't win, you can still have a taste of the pretty... all purchases made from stephanie's shops - bella regali, pearls and petals, it's a 10 - will receive 10% off through next monday, plus have a chance to receive a gift card. go find yourself a new match!

You're so funny! The double stroller one had my giggling :)
For me, it's not hummus. It's onions. And I never get the memo to self!
Happy Monday...I hope you have a very, blessed week enjoying your babies!
Wow...you have very strong hormons...So what did the doctor recommend to do?
I am so sorry that hummus didnt work for you...I hate that feeling...ufff..Hope you are feeling better now, sweetie
Congrats to the lovely winner...that was a great giveaway:)
hugs
Thanks again for Miscellany Monday. I'm hooked!
I remember the looks with a double stroller, but at least I knew where my kids were. It was a little bulky in the aisle of stores, but it's much better than the panic of looking for a toddler in a crowd.
Hi Carissa,
thank you for hosting Miscellany Monday. I just love to be random.
I did not know your hormones could actually be that strong. Is this something to be worried about or did the doctors seem ok about it?
Blessings,
Kate
Poor mama and baby! Hopefully the doctor gave you some tips or meds to get it all straightened out soon.
I have never heard of the hormones causing the baby to produce milk...wow, those are some strong hormones!
Hummus=wonderfulness. So I totally understand that it tempts you so.
Have a great Monday!
Doctor put us on the Mediterranean diet to up our good cholesterol - diet staple is...hummus!
Oh my goodness, that milk thing is crazy! But at the same time, it's so amazing what our bodies are able to do!
Well, I've never had hummus and think that maybe that's a good thing. :o) The name just doesn't sound appealing to me at all. I know, that's crazy but it's also crazy that I don't eat tomatoes because of their seeds and texture. Guess we all have our "quirks." :o)
A most wonderful week is wished for you!
I'm so excited! Thanks for the giveaway, Carissa!
I've never heard of that happening with a baby, but it makes total sense...Sage is taking after her mama already :) ha
And all I can say about the double stroller is be careful where you take it! A family in front of us in line for the empire state building had to wind theirs through the maze of a line for an hour before reaching the top...and the isles were just barely too small to actually fit it. Nobody minded, but it seemed to make their lives hard!
I totally agree with you on the double stroller stares. I wrote a post about it myself!
That is so crazy about Sage producing milk! I want to hear more about that. I'm intrigued!
Also, that explains A LOT about the hummus.... ha apparently I need to stay away, too.
I've not tried hummus...but I sure know that feeling when I eat other things, haha!
I remember the double stroller days...those things are truly a beast to operate, but it was always nice to have both kiddos and everything they come with both packed up for a ride! ;)
I also knew a friend who had a daughter who produced milk as an infant...strange how our bodies work :) And hormones are always a doozy!
Take care! LOVE that necklace, what a lucky winner ;)
Ive read about that in Parenting Mag before....well look at it this way your milk is really healthy :0) Hope your hormones calm down soon!!
LOL about the double stroller...um I do believe there are much more things to look at then that hahhahaha
Never tried hummus before I can't get over the look of it
Yay to the winner
hope you had a great weekend
oh um sorry I linked like 4 times today something was going on with blogger and it went all cooky
xoxo
Summer :0)
Hee hee...you make me laugh! And the double stroller bit was too funny. Have a happy Monday, Carissa! :-)
Oh, geez, your milk producing baby, that's too much! YEa, you think a double stroller gets stares - we have a single stroller and my 3 year old likes to ride in the netting underneath (where you're supposed to store your diaper bag) THAT gets stares!
lol. love your note to self carissa... b/c it is soo soo true! hummus is sooo delish but can lead to painfulness later on in the night eeks!! have a great week sweetie and thanks for the laugh! :)
You crack me up. I've heard of hormones causing milk production in baby girls. I've also heard that baby girls can have periods. My husband about passed out when our pediatrician told us that after Presley was born. Stay clear of the hummus. Enjoy your week!
Wow...well I've never heard of that. You are REALLY good at the breast feeding thing...HA!!!
Gas is bad. Poor thing!
Yay for Anna! (don't forget every purchase will include a gift card as well!!)
I love hummus, I guess I have never eaten it to the point of regret, haha!
Happy Monday and thanks for hosting my giveaway!
Oh Carissa, how you make me laugh. I've never heard of a baby producing milk before. I thought I was hormonal. What's with the stares and the double stroller. I just don't get it. Maybe they are just admiring your beauties! Happy Monday!
hahahah oh hummus, you are so sneaky/stinky.
Hummus is a wonderful and unkind thing!
Oh no I never knew a baby could produce milk, hope she and you are both okay!
Our double stroller has definitely gotten up some attention haha!
You have one talented daughter.
Double strollers are so hard to use. We have one. I love it. Most of the time. It does help part traffic sometimes -- I'm thinking when we go to the Minnesota State Fair. Either people get out of our way OR never, ever, ever, ever let us through. Then I just start moving.
I love hummus as well. And I avoid it just as much.
Finally, I linked up. At almost noon.
Talk soon.
Rachel
I laughed. I did. About the hormone thing, because sister, I'm THERE. Don't have a milk producing baby, but I'm THERE. Roller-coaster-ride. Too bad about the Hummus! It's so good for you, have you ever noticed how so-good-for-you things cause gas? Why does God have to play mean tricks like that?
What kind of double stroller do you have? Do you love it? Do share if you do, I need to look for one...
Your Monday posts are so cute! :-) Love hummus, there are better kinds!
Whoa. That is some major hormonage.
Don't worry about the stares - everyone stares at new babies. They are just admiring a beautiful little family!
Pretty necklace! And...I love hummus. I just don't get it very often. ;-)
Oh wow! You must have some super strong hormones then!
I have been there with people and staring at me when I am with a double stroller. Once I had one that I called a "limo". Let's just say nobody got in my way. Now I have a smaller one. That one lasted a week ;)
Have a fabulous week!

I had no idea a mother could cause her child to produce milk! Does she have a strong prolactin level or something? So strange!!!
My best friend has 3 kids 2 1/2 and under and they have a TRIPLE stroller (basically a double with this fancy seat that goes in the front) and they always get stared at. Whenever we are in public with them it drives ME crazy! Everyone looks at them like...well just like you said...that they're from another planet : )
I found out about the mother's hormones and milk production in this way after having my third son. Three boys. My third son went through the little chubby chest and milk production...NEVER would have thought a boy would experience that, but he did.
About the stroller...they're everywhere here in Vermont. I'm absolutely positive that no one would look at you strangely around here :)
I can't believe people give you weird looks when you push the stroller! that is too funny and my mom totally pushed my sister and I in one of those.
OMGoodness, girl, I feel for ya...I have that same love affair going on with hummus...not good, not good, I fall for that look of innocence every time myself!
I've got to get on the stick and right my miscellany monday fun...I can't believe how this day has just flown by :)))
I am terrified of "driving" a double stroller around. Mercy, I take out walls, corners, displays with the single stroller we have now ;) I can only imagine the "looks" we will get come Feb.
I always got weird looks when I pushed my boys in the double stoller too! And everyone insists on helping me open doors and carry stuff! Which is nice I know, but what did they think I would do when no one is around?!?
What is it exactly that causes people to stare at a double stroller? I've seen them before and just thought, "Hmm, convenient! I'll keep that in mind if I have more than one baby someday." Maybe that's what other people are thinking, too.
I do feel strange any time I go out in public and more than one person gives me the same look. Yesterday I wore this really fun dress and virtually every woman between ages 17 and 40 looked me up and down. It was awkward.
This is kind of off topic, but once when I was at Target, two different women came up and asked me for help finding a certain item. I was not wearing a red shirt nor was I wearing khakis; I was wearing a gray tee shirt and jeans. Odd.
Baby milk production? I've never heard of that in my life!
My husband and I were just talking about double strollers... I know one is in our future someday! :-P
Gorgeous necklace... congratulations to Anna. :)
hhahahaha...hummus= gas. hummus is tasty though, i do agree. poor sage producing milk/ poor you with all the hormone craziness. i think double strollers are so cute... i hope i get to use one some day soon :))
thinking about you and your beautiful family!!
Oh how I love hummus. That is such a bummer that it does that to you...so sorry. The milk thing happened to Jamison too and it freaked Rondell out :) Stares...really...I don't get people.
Hi! I'm Kristen (KM) and your Grandma told me about your blog. I know those stares well. My 3 are 8, 7, & 5 right now and somehow that's more acceptable, but when they were little...oh man.
I'm all smiles after reading this one! Thanks for giving me a giggle this morning :) Laughter is the best medicine!
lol...
Good thing you didn't go for the Phil & Teds. We can't go anywhere without people making comments or coming up to us. You'd think we lived in a big enough city where there was more than one. Haven't seen another one yet! The double does make like easier, though, doesn't it? I can't believe I went 4-5 months without it.
