miscellany monday and a pretty paperie giveaway!

grab it, write random and link up below!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. backtalk.  the other day i was feeding hunter dinner (which, by the way, is the day's hardest chore) and i told him to open wide and eat his green beans.  his reply was "no."  i said, did you just tell me "no?"  his reply, "yes."  ugh.  hey, at least he admitted to it.  more proof that no matter how cute they are, they're still little sinners that need to learn obedience.

2.  dmb = dave matthews band.  i had his newest cd on the other day in the car and my mom was with us.  i asked if she knew who he was and she asked if they were a christian group.  oh mama, you are so cute.  i can't laugh too much; kelly just introduced me to dmb a few years back.  ; )

3.  unladylike.  you know you have a really good friend when you're at a restaurant, your daughter has the biggest blowout in the existence of blowouts (very unladylike), and your friend goes to the bathroom with you, wipe in hand, ready to start cleaning.  thank you amy.  by the way, sage only poops once/week (apparently it's common for breastfed babies - weird) so when she poops it smells like everything i've eaten in the last week all rotting together in 120 degree heat.  you get the picture?!

4.  not your average teddy bear.  coming to a store near you... it's a placenta teddy that you get the privilege of sewing together for your child:

5. the best for last... a giveaway!  my blog bud, natalie, from the busy budgeting mama and natalie catherine design has a real surprise in store.  (let me just say that natalie is so stinkin' talented at design that i get jealous.)   natalie has just opened the pretty paperie and wants to give you a chance to win big -

okay, so get to it!  how to enter (each is counted as a separate entry; leave a comment for each):

1. visit the pretty paperie and tell us what you'd pick if you win.
2.  visit the busy budgeting mama and become a follower.
3.  become a follower of lowercase letters.

the giveaway will close sunday, september 19 at 9 pm est and the winner will be announced monday, september 20.  thanks natalie for sharing your pretties with us!

Your mom is so cute ;) I think Alex already knows more about music than I do and he's eight! When do they become little adults and I become uncool {was I ever?} :)

Alex had the best blowouts too...and it was always when I was out! That's a great friend you have :)

And ewwww to the teddy bear. I'm proud to give birth and make life...but I'm not really excited to sew a teddy out of that 'creation'! That is a little wierd!

Happy Monday!!! And how I wish i was creative like that {and the cupcakes are making me hungry this morning!}

Kate said...

Your mom looks like a very kind person. :)

Nursing babies' BM's note -- I've heard constipation is almost impossible for babies who are strictly breastfed. With my 7 kids, I've found that to be TRUE! Several of mine went 2 weeks w/o a BM (I'm not exaggerating - I kept track!) - and when they finally went, it was all perfectly normal. Amazing, huh? God makes breastmilk so it absorbs perfectly in baby's body - yet another reason to nurse!

I love the customized labels - and I agree those cupcakes are making me hungry (but the placenta bear ruins all that!).

Your Mom looks like your sister and you be sure you tell her I said that. I love it when someone tells me that I look like my daughter's sister. :o) What a funny, funny "blowout" story, I think every Mom has one.

Love, love Pretty Paperie! Will bookmark that site for sure.

A happy, happy week to you!

Dave Matthews Band is great! But the PlacentaBear? I've never heard of such. I'm in my OB/Peds semester in nursing school currently, so I'm going to share this piece of info!

On another note, I LOVE the designs from Pretty Paperie! Tooooo stinkin' cute!

Since I'm getting married in JUNE and it will be OUTSIDE in the good ole' Georgia heat.. I am definitely going to have bottled water available for the guests. What better way than to customize the label according to our theme?!

First....that teddy bear simply makes me sick. I can't even repeat to other people that I saw it.

Second, your mama is precious!

I would take ANYTHING from Natalie's store. She is super talented, and I wish she'd come to Alabama and plan Addison's 2nd birthday and the arrival of my second baby. I wonder if she's out for hire???

Lovely pictures. Except the teddy. That just creeps me out. What happened to burying it in the back yard and planting a tree? (not that I did that -- I believe all of mine were disposed of in the hospital) Making a bear, now? Can you imagine when the recipient gets married? "Honey, I've got this teddy bear made out of my mother's placenta...shall we put it on the mantel?"

Okay. I'm done.

Your mother is beautiful -- like you.

Blow-outs. I get that. Enough said.

Have a wonderful Monday. And are you proud of me? I linked up today!!
