1. take that, spin class. i was convinced that spinning was the most intense workout... until i took this beast of a stroller and these beauties out in the 90+ degree heat and ran for an hour. i had to have burned a whole week's worth of calories. running while pushing a stroller (a double one at that) is a whole new kind of exercise.
2. a walking train wreck. getting ready for church on sunday mornings without daddy (he gets to church extra early since it's also his job) tends to reek havoc. example: mommy is in a rush, has hunter on one hip along with his backpack for the nursery, her purse, and sage's diaper bag... oh yeah and then the infant carrier with sage in the other hand along with the keys. the keys drop. what's a mama to do?! i put hunter down for a mere second to grab my keys and in an instant he took a dash for the brick steps and tumbled. of course. these things always happen right before church. his poor face:
3. beggars can't be choosy. i love skymiles, yes i do. i love skymiles, how 'bout you?! they get us to california and back to visit my family... aww, sweet california. i just booked our trip for sage's debut and we are all too excited. i realized they are overnight flights... see, when a flight comes up for the lowest mileage rate you have to jump on it. i did; without even glancing at the the flight info. when it's nearly free you don't really care. so i'll let you know how it all goes down. it could be really good, the kids could be angels and sleep the whole time. or it could be sheer chaos and torture. sorry in advance if you end up on our flights. this sight will totally be worth the plane ride (i used to live there.... yes, it was amazing and awesome):
4. the beauty of the body. i'm thankful for the body of Christ. in the past few days i have had countless emails from many of you just letting me know you're thinking of me and said a prayer for our family. how sweet of you. how beautiful. how thoughtful. i love the body of Christ... caring for each other and encouraging one another. thank you. by the way, sorry for being a bad blogger last week. we are doing just fine. it can be a bit time consuming adjusting to two kiddos (especially a toddler boy who is constantly on the go and a colicky baby girl). : ) no matter how busy it gets, i'm reminding myself to savor these times. one day, when hunter is headed off to college or sage is walking down the aisle, i'm going to wish they were back in diapers.

Go you and your exercise! I'm super impressed. I never did the whole running while pushing a stroller thing but I should have. I'm about to go out for a loooong run now and you've motivated me that I can do this. Afterall, I'm not pushing a stroller!
Aww, poor Hunter! Funny, our Sunday mornings go much like that and I even have my husband to help. We are inevitably late for church every.single.Sunday.
Good luck with the overnight flight. I actually think that will work in your favor. Who cares though - to your point, the trip will be worth it no matter how the kids do on the flights.
Have a blessed week enjoying your babies. The days are long but the years are short :)
So great that you are running...I really should start running as its so great for your body....Love the stroller....Looks very cool...Have a wonderful week, sweetie
and your little guy looks so cute...even with the little scrach...
Kisses
Wow, that running sounds intense! I wish I was remotely interested in running, but I just can't do it!
Good luck on that flight...I'm praying that they're angels and sleep the entire time!
Have a great Monday!
Oh yeah, and P.S.-you two are both totally adorable-shiny forehead, scratches and all!:-)
Whew! I got exhausted just reading about the double stroller jog! You go girl! That's so exciting that you're headed out to Cali - I love Skymiles too! Good luck on the getting ready for church bit...Sunday mornings are just hard. W/o hubby, if you're all getting out the door in one piece, you're great! Happy Labor Day to you!
Oh #2. I sure do know how that goes! Good job pushing that stroller!
I feel you on the Sunday morning thing, fellow worship pastor wife... I've been getting us ready without hubby for seven years now! And that IS when things will inevitably happen. :)
Oh, I think you are "super woman!" Getting ready on Sunday mornings is a challenge at best, without two babies. Satan is always near to cause chaos in any way He can. :o)
I bet the kiddos will do great on the flight and sleep all the way. I'll be praying to that end!
Blessings to you for an extra special week!
Well girl you've inspired me to lace up my running shoes and hit the streets this morning. Running with a stroller is definitely a new kind of workout and mine is only a single! Happy Labor Day!
First off:
Happy Labor Day!
I'll keep praying for you, especially now that poor Hunter has that lil' scratch on his sweet face.
Blessings!

Summer ;0)
I am amazed you are out running with the double stoller!! I see men do it all the time, so my hat goes off to you sweetie! I can only imagine getting three people ready with only two hands before church... bless your heart! Luckily little ones are very resilient!
Hope your labor day is fabulous! Poor Hunter and his little boo boo! Daniel is the one that does the " falling of his face on Sunday mornings" alot. He's so cute but it's so sad. He's got a bump on him every week. Poor baby!
And YES! The body of Christ is such a beautiful thing! Will continue to have you in my prayers. Enjoy your little ones! They grow fast fast fast!

You go, girl! Hey, do you like the Chicco carseat? I was told it doesn't fit well in buggies at the store, but then I got to thinking...when you have a little one still sitting in the seat of the cart (as apposed to walking) you're going to have the carrier in the basket anyway. Thoughts on this? Your stroller made me think of it. Ya'll will have such a blast going back home! I wish we were headed on a plane somewhere gorgeous, but I think I'm run out of travel-far-from-home time. Maybe next spring! Have a great day!
Oh i must have missed something. Hope all is well...now I have to go back!
I love Cali too. I'm curious where you lived. My honey gets job offers there alot and I've always been on the fence if that would be a good thing for us or not.
Oh and sunday mornings are always like that here too. Satan will do anything to keep you from those church pews. Poor baby!
Hi Carissa! {I know, long-time-no-comment} I am back to both writing & reading in blogdom :). I had my own little Sunday adventure yesterday, ha ha...how many times did you have to explain what happened to his little face? {Just shows people love you}.
Hard to realize while you are in the midst of diaper-phase that it is oh-so-brief...I know you are making the most and cherishing every moment.
Have a blessed week! Lisa
your blog just makes me happy- i love seeing the smiling faces and beautiful scenery. You ran for an hour with that double stroller?!!! are you human?! i think i could run for 3 minutes with that thing. very impressed! aww hunter's little booboo... He is soo cute!! i feel like he's growing up so fast! California trip!! woohoo!! i'm so excited for yall... i wish tyson and i could go back to visit! you are such a trooper and you are doing so great as a new mom- praying for you sweet friend!!!!
You are so beautiful! & a great mother! I just love all the smiling faces!!! & that stroller is intense! You go girl! Have a lovely day!
Thank for your sweet words and prayers. They are so appreciated sister.
Wow, I absolutely cannot believe you went out running for an hour with that thing. You must be in stellar shape! The body of Christ is so amazing and beautiful! We are blessed to be a part of it : )
Congrats for running with them! :) That was a feat! I'm training for my first half marathon - I wish I had them to push during the training so that then the half marathon would feel like a breeze! haha.. cause as it stands right now, it's going to stink! :)
When are you guys coming?? We would LOVE to see you! Maybe we can meet up somewhere, and we would LOVE to have you at South Bay of course. I would love to meet Sage! :)
Skymiles are the best. That's how I went back for my aunts funeral in August. We just got the Capitol One Venture card - it's 2 miles for every dollar you spend, and you can use it for other things as well - not just miles. And it's a visa signature card, so there are a gazillion perks for that. we just use it like a debit card, paying off the balance at the end of the month (cause I know you guys are like us for the credit card thing :) ) ANd no, I'm not on the promo team for Visa. haha.
I cannot imagine pushing a double stroller in 90 degree heat. What a work out that must be!
Your Sunday morning sounds like mine, as my hubby is often off before me. Although my kids are much older, we have other issues. Poor Hunter!
You're coming to California? That's where I live! I pray your flights all turn out ok.
Happy Monday!
you are such an amazing mother girl! i don't know how you do it!!!
re the skymiles, i totally do the same thing, just get the trip that uses up the least number of miles, doesn't matter the time!!
haha!
I feel your pain with Sunday mornings being crazy!! My husband also goes off early at times and it is an absolute miracle that we even get there at times!!!
Ha, running with a stroller totally ups your speed! I'd been pushing Gooner and then one day Q ran with me and he was like, WOW you are running fast! Um, I think I was just used to pushing a 15 month old. I can't imagine running for an hour, in 90+ heat pushing TWO. Nope, I won't run unless it is in the 80's.
Wow, lady! How in the world do you run for an hour...let alone with that super stroller! :) That's amazing. And I get dizzy just thinking about getting two little ones ready for Sunday morning. My hubby seems like enough right now. ;)
You go girl...you and your double stroller. I'm sure that was quite the work out...spinning has nothing on you! I hope you have a wonderful time in California and will pray that you have a smooth trip. I love cheap tickets. Poor Hunter...another little boy I saw this weekend had the same injury. The body of Christ is such a blessing and a wonderful gift...what a joy to be a part of!
Oh no! That boo boo does look rough!
That spin class can take a lesson from you! You are NUTS (in a fabulous way of course)! I wish I had the ambition to do that right now!
Poor baby and mama, trying to get out the door without incident how dare you haha! Looks like he is no worse for the ware though!
I just took Emma (22 months) and Izzie (2 months) on a red eye from Boston to Oakland nonstop and it was definitely more interesting than pre babies. We bough Emma a seat, not sure if you guys did, but it helped because she got to lay down. Not to say she was super fabulous, but the baby was a princess (she got to be held while sleeping and for her thats the bees knees!
Good luck, its never easy and I take it one day at a time!
I am with you on one day at a time in this chaos! These are beautiful little babies we have here. Savoring a crying one can be tough though.
Bless your heart, that Sunday morning story sounds like it came straight from my house!!!
Late to the party... hey it was a holiday. Linky closed. Oh well...
http://mischiefandlaughs.blogspot.com/2010/09/miscellany-monday-tuesday-edition.html
Jealous of you and your workout! :-) go girl!
I love your miscellany mondays! I need to jump in one day. I'm glad to see I'm not the only mama whose baby gets bumps and bruises on his/her face! He's still a little doll.
I can't believe you ran an HOUR. I can't even run 100 yards pushing a single stroller. Go you!
I must agree with you, running with a double stroller is very hard work! I've tried it twice, never did it again :)
ohh... and I get those akward reflections thanks to flash sometimes too! haha I'm glad I am not the only person it bothers!
I need to get a stroller like that!! :)
You go girl! Running with two little ones is impressive.
I am inspired.
Hope you are having a wonderful week!
Where in Cali? Is that Tahoe? Almanor?
I had a crazy week, but finally made it over to read your Monday post. Good for you pushing the double stroller!! You must have lost 10 pounds that day :) And I totally have found myself in the same situation. Getting ready, hands full, kids ready and something falls. Someone falls. It happens all the time.
such sweet thoughts, my bloggy friend. i love the way you think about things that can be a frustration or difficulty! thank you for your heart and the way you share it on LL. have a wonderful weekend!
Where in California did you live? I see lovely Lake Tahoe in your post. VERY close to where I live. We can actually see the Sierra Nevada mountains from our back deck. Gorgeous. It is absolutely beautiful here, BUT...you will be taxed to death. You pay for the beauty here. Take my advice, just visit!
