1. the boy who cried wolf. hunter's new favorite word is "ouch." he's noticed that it's a great way to get our attention. boo boo or not, ouch is the word. we've taught him to say "please" if he wants something so now he says "please" constantly and thinks it's a one-way ticket to get any and everything he wants. oh boy, he's cute.
2. a friend of fonts. i could spend hours looking at free fonts. dafont.com is pretty fab, right along with fonts by kevin and amanda. happy fonting to you. if there's a fantastic font that i need to know about, do tell. by the way, can papyrus do us a favor and fall off the face of the earth?
3. diet diary. so, i've lost 15 lbs in the last 10 weeks and i want to lose 10 more to be where i was before babies. i'm notoriously unrealistic when it comes to my weight loss goals. so in an effort to be more reasonable and less hard on myself, i'm writing a few notes for the future (like when baby #3 arrives which will be many many years from now).
- note #1: slow and steady wins the race.
- note #2: when people say that breastfeeding makes the weight fall off, they don't mean that you'll drop 10 lbs/week.
- note #3: as tired as you may be, working out always gives you more energy.
- note #4: not eating doesn't work. eating a variety of foods is always best... everything is fine in moderation.
4. freshberry. my friend introduced me to it's creamy goodness and i'm hooked. freshberry serves the best froyo (that's trendytalk for frozen yogurt, i learned) and you can choose three toppings to go with it. it's low cal, full of the health benefits of normal yogurt and it actually tastes like a dessert instead of diet food. it's become my guilty pleasure. i can only hope there's a freshberry near you.
5. i fell for fall... a long, long time ago. the colors of autumn, the changing leaves, the cooling temperatures, the feeling of holiday's just around the corner are all so lovely to me. and although the temps have been in the 70's here in the south, it's fall enough. the lessening humidity does wonders for my hair and the pumpkin spiced lattes are good, too. oh, and not to mention cute little kiddies in costumes. last year we took a dinosaur to our church's fall festival... this year we get to take a giraffe and a "mommy still hasn't decided what else yet."

Hahah..that is one adorable photo:)
Kids are so smart...Hunter knows exactly what he is doing ...hahah...I love that!
Have a lovely Autumn Monday,sweetie
and congrats on loosing 15 lbs...Well done!
Kisses
Almost there with your weight loss goal! I think that's pretty spectacular! Wish we had a Freshberry around here. Sounds divine :-) Isn't Fall glorious?! I love for this season! Happy deciding what Sage will be!
Congrats on the weight loss! That's a big accomplishment and you're being really smart about how you do it :)
Papyrus? Ick. No thanks. When there are so many other good fonts, IT has to exist... :)
Mmm, that Freshberry looks good! I'll have to look it up and see if we have one near us!.
I fell for fall yesterday when, out of the blue, (mind you, two weeks ago, the temperature was in the 90's) the temperature dropped to the 50's. Still, I think it makes it feel all the more "fall-ish," because, like you, we live in the south, and 70's is our typical "fall" weather.
Love,
Elizabeth Rose
Isn't it amazing how young kids figure out those things?!! Such an adorable little dinosaur!
Awwww! Kids are so smart and funny - Hunter is definitely no exception! I am addicted to fonts too! My favorite just so happens to be Kelly Jelly from kevin and amanda :) I once did an entire report at work it in and aggravated a bunch of our international folks because they said they couldn't read it. Oh well, I thought it was cute. Regarding the weight loss, remember that it is MUCH harder the second time around. You are doing a fab job - keep it up and you'll hit that goal without a problem. I was finally below my goal weight from all the running I was doing but now I'm bedridden for at least the next few months so we'll see what that does for my weight :( Hopefully, it won't do much! I'm trying soooo hard to be disciplined with my eating...Oh my word! Hunter makes one ADORABLE dinosaur! If she wants to be a pumpkin, I'd be happy to send you Noelle's 0-12 month costume :) (it's kind of a one size fits all babies size!) Have a fabulous week ahead!!
LOL Slow and steady wins the race. This is a quote Zeke uses all the time. He constantly says it. But I am so proud of you! That is awesome. It took me a while to loose my weight but I did. Slowly but surely.
I love fall too! It's my favorite season. And those freshberry looks delicious.
Thanks for sharing your randomness! Have a blessed week!

I love the fact that Hunter has realized how he can manipulate :) They all do it and it amazes me that they are so smart at such a young age. Too funny. I am feeling the same way with the changing of the seasons. Fall is such a pretty, not to mention fun, time of the year. And your little dinosaur is adorable. Can't wait to see this years pics :)
Haha, we're experiencing the "Owwwwwwweeee" phenomena right now. That and anytime he wants his diaper off he says it's "Shewie", which leads to some interesting predicaments. Silly boys! We have several frozen yogurt places around here, I love them! Hope you guys have a great week!
That froyo looks WONDERFUL! But alas, there is no FreshBerry near me. :( Perhaps you could express mail some to me? ;) PLEASE! (I mean hey, if it works for Hunter...)
Your little dinosaur is adorable. :)
I think you have a very realistic outlook regarding weight loss. Just remember, the more slowly you lose it, the more likely it is to stay off.
LOVE Froyo! And I too love fonts! I will def have to take a look at that website! <333
You should check out fontspace.com...it's great too. :)
OMGoodness...the whole ouch thing? I'm afraid to tell ya...in doesn't go away (well, store that up for Sage...it doesn't go away for girls, at least)...I have to say "raindrops" every time my daughter says, "ouch", bc one time she said it when a raindrop hit her and I've called her on it ever since...and she's a TEENAGER!!
fonts...can't wait to play around with them!
freshberry? YUM! I can be down with the froyo lingo if it tastes as good as it looks! I'll have to check that place out, hope there's one near me! Don't worry, it'll all come off in time...for the next pregnancy, that is ;)
Love the fall, too!!! We're already decorated out with pumpkins and planning a party for daughter's friends the last weekend of October...it's been in the 80's every day here for the last week (that's a cool front round these parts!) Ohhh, I took my little dinosaur to church one year, too...um...15 years ago maybe...but oh, those dinos are soo awfully cute! (esp when they say "please" for everything, teehee!)
Great post...had to comment on everything :)))
My daughter (3 y.o.) walked over while I was reading your post and asked me, "why is the dinosaur eating that baby?!"
"Sweetie, it's a costume."
"Does it have bottom teeth, too?"
Well, at least she's not alarmed anymore. I can't ever predict what will come out of her mouth!
She's finally through the please is the perfect I get anything word. Thank goodness!
oooops...looks like I signed in on the wrong lines when I linked up...I'll read it next time, what da ya say, lol!?
Kids are so smart and funny! Kelcee has also learned awhile back that ouch will soooo get your attention and now she always has a boo boo even when she doesn't so invisi-boo's and band-aids are the new trend in our house LOL
I have fallen for fall too! Love it...what a cute dinosaur you have I can't wait to see your giraffe this year and what you decide to dress Sage as!! How fun :)
Thanks for your sweet notes to me, it really cheers me up!
Ooooh I wish we had one of those yogurt places nearby LOL...oh and thanks for the FroYO trendy talk update LOL you are so funny
love ya
Summer
Freshberry sounds wonderful - but our town of 1000 does not merit one of those, it appears.
Cute, cute, cute pic of you two.
Last fall, our church did a missionary/Bible character costume night as part of our missions conference - it was such fun, but nothing this year, so I'm not sure what we're doing. Our kids dress up all the time and do plays at our house so we don't necessarily need an excuse!
Way to go on losing weight and way to go on having a great attitude about it! :) :)
I love that font site - thanks for reminding me I had some of their fonts downloaded on my computer!
How did you lose all of that weight?! That's incredible! Was it really just watching what you eat and exercising? I would love it if you would type a post about what you've done. :)
Please+cute child= always a yes. He is so sweet. I love the fonts on Kevin & Amanda too...LOVE. I haven't had that frozen yogurt or heard about the cool name, but now I will be hip because of you. Note # 3&4 are so true!!!! Love the dinosaur. I will have chefs this year.
Loving the cooler temps here as well. It's very mild for Memphis weather and I'm going to soak it up as much as possible. I'm also a font junkie. Kevin & Amanda are probably sick of me lurking on their site waiting for the next slew of freebies. I've never heard of Freshberry and I doubt they are anywhere close but I'm really hoping i'm wrong. Please let me be wrong! I haven' figured out what I'm dressing the kids up as yet. Guess I better get on it. Have a great week, Carissa!
Oh...I'm worried about losing weight after this baby and hitting my 35th birthday tomorrow...3rd child + mid thirties = sloooooow metabolism, haha! I love Fall...I need to make Alex into a candy bar this year...how? not sure yet! Little kiddies dressed up are too cute...can't wait to see your little giraffe...and whatever else, heehee! It will be too cute!
happy Monday!
ohhhhhh! Really want to go to freshberry now! I've never been there but I have heard some good things! Thanks for reminding me about it! Plus, your little dinosaur, I just want to squeeze! He is so stinking cute! I can't wait to see the pictures from this year! I already have MC's costume picked out!!!
Hey Carissa! I am loving the cute no-sew cupcake costume on Lemon Tree Creations' blog - thought you might like to check it out for the "mommy hasn't decided yet" costume. :) http://lemontreecreations.blogspot.com/2010/09/no-sew-cupcake-costume-and-winner.html
I can't wait to see your cute little giraffe!
Hunter is just the cutest little thing ever!!! I need to find a Fresh Berry - looks delicious!!!! I am so with you on the Papyrus thing... ugghhh.
that Fresh Berry looks so yummy. There is not a froyo place anywhere near me and I wish there was. Not sure if you knew or not, but the linky is not up...but I participated. Hope you and your kiddos have a great Monday!
I would love to know how to put up different fonts in my posts. Does anyone know of a good tutorial that someone who has no clue of coding can access? Congrats on the weight loss. That's fantastic! I am a firm believer that slow and steady wins the race. You have me wanting to run out and get yogurt and it's only 9:45a. Happy Monday!
PS - I can't seem to find the linky?
I can't find the linky?!
haha Oh my, Emma loves to say boo boo to anything and get a kiss and attention because of it! I will have to stay away from the word ouch or we r really in for it!
I agree about the dieting notes!!! I go without food sometimes and then I'm like ahhhh give me the fridge! Working out=better sleep at night=more energy during the day!! I set unrrealistic goals for my self as well, what do you mean I can't lose all of my extra baby weight in a week (before the wedding I have to go to)!!
Your baby dinosoar is so cute! This year I will have a fairy "abby cadaby" and a strawberry...I went with what my mom so graciously got the girls!
I love how you said about breastfeeding and weight loss lol. That was my mentality lol
Oh I wish there was a freshberry near me!
You go girl!!! Losing that weight!! That's fabulous.
I've wanted to lose 10 pounds since Samuel's birth. Sigh. I think I just need to do it. And not talk about it. :)
Freshberry. Sounds good.
SOrry for the LATE entry.
Rach
my favorite froyo place is pinkberry!!!! however, there are a bunch of other ones in kansas city but none that i like all too much!!
btw, i just found a cool font called sunday morning garage sale, here's a link on how to get it - http://lydia-distracted.deviantart.com/art/Sunday-Morning-Garage-Sale-94083171
CONGRATS on the weight loss! Your notes are exactly what we need to hear as women - it's so easy to be hard on ourselves when we don't see instant results.
And I LOVE Kevin and Amanda's site. I still haven't gotten around to sending in my handwriting for a font, and your post reminded me that I should do it!
I know, losing 10 pounds a week is a total myth! Blech. You always look fantastic!
yay that dinosaur is the cutest little thing i've ever seen and i know baby giraffe and whatever else "mommy decides" will be precious as well! oh my goodness, frozen yogurt is delicious...we don't have a freshberry here but we have a red mango and taste-lite which are both sooo good!! holy guacamole! you've lost so much weight!! way to go (not that you needed it)!! tell everyone hello!! miss you friend!!
I love looking for fonts as well...too fun!
Liesl :)
Hmmm... I must be doing it wrong because Please sure does not work for the BF. Maybe I should try Ouch instead ;-)
Carissa,
There is an award waiting for you over at my blog.I know the little ones keep you busy, so participate as much or as little as you wish to, but enjoy the award!
