fail.

a toddler on the verge of the terrible two's
+
 a teething infant
+
trying to get a halfway decent picture for christmas cards
fail.

case in point:

hunter thought his sister looked like a kitty-cat with her hat on; he kept pointing at her and saying "meow!"

and these were the best ones.  oh well, at least the scenery was pretty.  better luck tomorrow.

thinking about christmas cards (and our christmas card tradition) just thrills me; the most wonderful time of the year is upon us!

I love the scowl one. That's the one I'll be looking for in my mailbox come December. I loved all your pics -- there's some beauty in real life, my friend!!

Have a wonderful Friday.

LOL! You found the most beautiful places to take your pictures and you and your hubby look great. The kids are just cute - it doesn't matter that they aren't looking or smiling. I think your Christmas card recipients would enjoy getting any of these pics on a card. :)

Oh Carissa...I so remember those days. It will get better. What gorgeous places you've been...wow!!! I liked number 3. Looks the most natural.

We seriously don't have any pictures of all of us looking at the camera and smiling at the same time! It's such a challenge getting family shots!

I think they are all good :) I love the one with the scowl face...too funny! Listen, at least you attempted, that is better than most. And the scenery is truly beautiful :)

Isn't it so frustrating how they kiddos are so cute, but as soon as that camera comes out they immediately refuse to cooperate!

Still think your pics are adorable, even if they aren't looking at the camera! :)

Ahh the Christmas picture. We decided to just do the kids this year and the day we picked was SO cold outside. I think there are a few that turned out well...good thing we only need one. Your kids are still so adorable, scowl and all :)

Love it, love it, and COMPLETELY get it. I'm not expecting decent Christmas photos for at least 3-4 more years. But you're right, the scenery is gorgeous! :)

Bless your heart! We had our "session" last Sunday afternoon and mine and Hubby's with the Grans really turned out quite well, but they had their Mommies behind the camera and their Daddy's were busy making them look the right direction and smile. It worked! Perhaps you need some help on the next session. But, while these may not be exactly what you are looking for, they are beautiful photos of a precious family.

Blessings to you dear!

Your family is so beautiful! You guys look like you are having a ball, although I understand how stressful taking family pics can be. We had some taken this year and I can hardly wait to see the outcome :)

Oh my...no matter what, the backdrop couldn't be more beautiful! If that's not proof of God's greatness, I'm not sure what is! I'm sure your Christmas card will be adorable!
