miscellany monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1.  leaving the nest. we've sponsored a precious boy from indonesia for seven years.  a few days ago we received a letter saying that he is now at the age of independence and no longer will receive support.  my heart is sad.  it's been a joy and privilege being a part of his life and watching him grow from boy to young man.  i now have a slight glimpse of what it will be like when our kids leave the house.  lord, help me.  if you want to know how to help support a child's schooling, clothing, medical needs, etc., all while giving them a chance to hear the Gospel, check out compassion international.  be a blessing.

2.  pie is the new cupcake?!  - i saw an ad that proclaimed this atrocity...  i don't care how good pie may be, it could never compare to the tiny goodness of a cupcake.

attention sc peeps:  we are missing out if we haven't tried a cupcake from sugar bakeshop in downtown charleston.  my friend bekah, says they are the best ever (and she knows what she is talking about... she bakes the most amazing goodies!).  i can't wait to taste some sugar!

3.  apparently, this is how daddy sings.  (ignore the fact that this video was awkwardly taken while changing his diaper.)  daddy needs to learn how to pronounce his words better. ; )

I might have to debate with you on the pie…I had one that was sooo creamy and delicious. Oh! My! It was right next to a cupcake;-)
Loving the video. He's sooo cute!

Yea, I'm with Dorcas on the cupcake. I do love me some pie! It's just my favorite of all desserts. But, I must admit the picture of the cupcake looks so delis!

Hunter is so cute and who knows, he may be a worship leader just like his Dad one day. :o)

Blessings to you for a beautiful week!

Thanks for hosting.

I've been sponsoring a little boy from Latin America for what seems like forever - about ten years, i guess - and last year I found out he could no longer attend school. I've missed it. It's a wonderful blessing.

What a precious video! :) That starts my day with a smile, thank you!

And just for the record...I'm a bit of a pie fanatic myself. How about a compromise and we agree that tarts (just miniature pies, right?) and cupcakes are comparable in their deliciosity? (Yes, deliciosity...that's my new word!) ;)

I don't know about the whole pie thing...I am still partial to cupcakes! Your little guy is the cutest ever!!!!!

OH MY CUTENESS!!! That video is great!

That is sad to be a part of a child's life and then they are "independent" and own their own. Are there still ways for you to stay in touch with how he is doing? I have to say...I love pie...anyday!!!

Hunter is precious!

I agree! Pie does not even compare to cupcakes. I love them. If I had to do my wedding over again, I would have serve cupcakes! Love the video of Hunter singing. Too cute! Happy Monday!

He's sooo cute. Fun to hear your voice on the video too. Love that.

Now you'll just need to sponsor another child that needs you. That's so cool!

Why did you have to show pumpkin pie. I'm still going through my sugar withdrawal;)

That video was too cute LOL! I love pie but you are so right, it could never replace a cupcake! They are just too different to even be compared! At least I think. Happy Monday!

Loved hearing Hunter sing. Sweet! I love a good cupcake and we must try "Sugar."

Aw, I hope the boy you guys took care of will be ok out in the world!

Okay. Seriously. It depends on the pie and the cupcake. Strawberry-rhubarb pie, slightly warmed trumps any cupcake any day. If a cupcake, let's say pumpkin with a cream cheese frosting is up against a cherry pie. Hands down win for the cupcake. See?

Oh my. Too much time on my hands tonight.

Love Compassion International as well.

And loved, loved, loved your sweet Hunter.

You are the best. Even though you're letting pie win and not remaining neutral like I am. :)

I agree. Pie will never, ever beat the goodness of a little cupcake. :]

Haha! Too cute!!

And I never thought about when our sponsor child will no longer need our support :( I know it must be sad! We'll always be praying for them, though!

p.s. the app for my phone is called the hipstamatic and you can get different lenses and film for it! it's soooo much fun!
