no, this isn't a cute way of telling you i'm pregnant again.
a good blogger doesn't write an entire post (a novel like post, at that) about a recipe she found on a food blog. but lets be real... as a mother to a 5 month old and a 21 month old, you better take what you get.
and much to my husband's sadness, i haven't gone julia child on you. i know with two recipe posts in two weeks i totally had you fooled. what i'm going to tell you about is in honor of all the preggy ladies out there. girls, i know how hard it is to go 9 months without consuming raw cookie dough. wait, do i really need to use the word raw there? if it's dough then it's clearly raw. ahem. so, yeah, it's hard going 9 months without cookie dough. so hard that with my 1st babe i couldn't do it. i did sneak a few bites of dough. and then felt like i would be dead by the morning or arrested by the FDA. much to my surprise, neither happened. although, now my son has a severe severe SEVERE egg allergy to which i feel responsible. dang eggs, why do you have to be in almost every baked or unbaked good?!
well, i have news for you. cookies don't need eggs. so there. thanks to my new friend, joy i've been made aware of this. okay, she doesn't know i exist so maybe i can't be qualified as her friend. but she's like the popular girl that everyone wants to know and be. so i'm telling you that she's my friend so you'll think i'm cool too. she is brilliant and came up with a piece of pure divinity... frozen chocolate chip cookie dough balls dipped in chocolate. have you died and gone to heaven yet??? with one bite, you will.
wait, do you hear that? It's a choir of pregnant women uniting with one voice proclaiming hallelujah and r.i.p. to no cookie dough for 9 months.
before getting to the recipe, i have a few matters of book-keeping to attend to. to further my case and emphasize the point that i'm so not going julia child on you, let me remind you that it is quite important to make sure you have all the ingredients necessary before you start a recipe. i know, i know, you're thinking, duh. of course. you learned that in kitchen 101. well, i didn't take kitchen 101. as a consequence of this reality, after creaming my butter and sugar i noticed i was fresh out of vanilla and also out of my "go to" vanilla substitute (maple syrup). instead i used water. which, i'm pretty sure if i had taken the previously mentioned class i would've known better. soon after, i realized i did not have the necessary1/2 cup of peanut butter. i really only had 1/4 cup. but there was no turning back now. i continued on with my lacking peanut butter and figured it would somehow still taste good. and guess what? it did. lucky us. but, the good news is, i know it will taste exceptionally good if made with all of the ingredients in their proper amounts.
another matter of book-keeping - i was really excited about this recipe because i wanted hunter (my egg allergy boy) to get his first taste of chocolate chip cookies. it was going to be monumental. well, it would've been a better experience if the dough wasn't rock hard frozen. just saying.
and now i'm going to quit babbling lest you think that i'm not only a bad blogger, but also a bad baker, and mother.
but seriously, if you want to be tempted with every post, go visit joy the baker. (thanks manda, for introducing me to joy. i owe all my extra calories to you.) and now i must go work out.
mine don't look as good as joy's...
but she doesn't have a cute sous chef like i do. : )

I NEARLY WEPT W/JOY WHEN READING THIS....maintenance spaintenance! i want these nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
ur sous chef is precious! makes baking all the more fun
I love Joy the Baker too! Does eating raw eggs when pregnant really cause allergies? I didn't know that and I am pretty sure I consumed some. yikes...glad none of my kids are allergic now. Eggs are in almost everything. Your little sous chef is precious:-)
I always had Ellie in her Bumbo on the counter like that! Who cares if they were recalled for that very reason?!
made no-bake cookies last night because i had no eggs and waited until 11pm last night to make cookies for our cookie exchange at work today. came to your website because you had the recipe done up all cute as i recall and i wanted to print it out to share... and lookie here! another egg-free recipe! i must try this :) thanks for sharing!!
I have a delish eggless chocolate cake recipe!
First of all there is no way in all the land that you caused Hunter's egg allergy by eating cookie dough preggie. They only don't want you to bc of salmonella. You clearly didn't get that so you are so fine! God wanted for some reason or another for Hunter to have an egg allergy, your due dilligence or neglect has nothing to do with it I promise, He is in control.
Second of all, this post was clearly not for this prego bc she is allergic to peanut butter! But I happen to not be as tempted to eat cookie dough as you...I prefer them cooked...I know I am prolly the only one of my kind.
This looks like a great recipe!!! I need to try it. (Although, I have already suffered throw 9 months without cookie dough ... only a few more days left as a preggo to go, haha.)
I love cookie dough better than baked cookies. I never really think about there being raw eggs in the batter...ew thanks for that;) Could you little sweetie be any cuter?! I love that she's just hangin' out with you while you cook. They didn't have that seat when my girls where that size.
I have to try this recipe very soon...Yum those looks so good:) Have a great day, sweetie
Kisses
Yum! I love cookie dough:)
My goodness! Sage is growing quickly, what an adorable picture! :)
My husband LOVES cookie dough...this would be just for him. I love your disclaimers...they made me laugh. You do have one of the cutest sous chefs around :)
Soo, this is pure evil. Just as I was full determined to go all healthy during the remainder of this pregnancy, with nasty V-8 juice, kale and all, you post this. Sigh. Now I have no choice but to make it....
Oh, my goodness, I'm copying this for my daughter. She LOVES raw cookie dough! I think I'll have these on hand for our family Christmas and I'll be the "Bomb Mom" for doing so. Thanks for sharing, good stuff like this isn't made to keep to yourself. Share! Share and let us all get fluffy together. :o)
my momma NEVER let me eat raw cookie dough. Is it weird that it may be considered an eating "sin" from my childhood? She was positive that my brother and I would die from consuming raw eggs. Just wait until I share this with her. Not preggers...but definitely cookie dough deprived. PERFECT! Thank you for opening my world up, Miss Carissa!!
Yay - not that I'm pregnant or going to ever be agaain... but still "yay"!
Those look yummy! ph and I follow joy the baker too. Shes great!
Mmm, they look delicious! I will have to try that. My friend's little sister is allergic to eggs, so this will be very useful. :)
Merry Christmas!

Oh wow, you don't even KNOW what this does to me!! & that sounds both odd & creepy, but it's true.
P.S. Sage's little face is just as cayuuuuuute as can be! : )
OH girl! I can't remember how many times I had to turn away from the cookie dough when I was pregnant with pure pain in my heart! Lol! This recipe is absolutely wonderful regardless of whether or not they turn out good for just that reason!! I must try it soon though!
I still think Titus' iron problem at 1 was because I didn't eat enough veggies when I was pregnant!
Yay for recipes and Oh My, Sage is just adorable!!!
ps...made these today for when the kids came home from school....they loved them!!!! mommy did too! and i was good...only ate 1. granted it's only 5:23pm my time!
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much! I may just have to make this right NOW! hahaha...
I'm gonna have to try to make those!!
These look AMAZING! I'm not pregnant...but I'm making them anyway ;]
What a darling little chef you have. Why not teach them early in life to bake?
Oh my..thank you for posting this recipe!!! They look and sound delish! And I love your little sous chef..adorable! :-) I can't wait for my little one to be in the kitchen with me!
Great recipe!!! I might like cookie dough. Just maybe.
And Sage? A.d.o.r.a.b.l.e. Completely. Love those Bumbo chairs -- they make cooking and life easier. :)
Did I tell you this week how much I appreciate you? Cause I do. Your comments are always so sweet and kind. Thank you dear friend.
Have an excellent Friday.
Rachel
I don't think I've made a recipe and actually had ALL the ingredients!
It must be another fun effect of mama brain.
Thanks for the great recipe.

I LOVE raw cookie dough but it makes my Hubs want to puke that I eat it! Is it really that bad????
This post is too cute! Thank you for sharing such an awesome recipe. I, too, ate a smidge of cookie dough while preggers. I didn't think a little would hurt. We shall see!
Also, I meant to comment a long time and inform you of how I tackle the dilemma of pricey highlights. I LOVE some glow and light to my tresses and used to get my hair highlighted all the time. Now that I am trying to save money and have a baby to tag along, I just do it at home. I use Clairol Frost & Tip Original for around $10 a box.
http://www.amazon.com/Clairol-Nice-Easy-Frost-Original/dp/B001E95F9M/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=beauty&qid=1291434415&sr=1-4
Make sure it's the Original, as it is designed for light blonde to dark brown hair. Just be sure to keep it on plenty long enough. You can always have a friend help you. This product has been a life saver for my vanity:) I have tried many hair coloring products and this is my fav!
Feel free to ask any me questions.
I'm pregnant and have been DYING for some cookie dough, and chocolate. I'm making them right now! yummm!!!
I've just found your blog and I'm excited and devastated at the same time! YOU CAN'T EAT COOKIE DOUGH?! I don't even believe in cooked cookies! Oh man, I can't even imagine! It's like 1 step forward 2 steps back when it comes to thinking about being pregnant (which I'm not.)
What a doll baby!!!!
She's a PERFECT sous chef!! Goodness she's gotten big!!! WHAT A DOLL!!!These sound delicious! My husband loves cookie dough. I myself do not like it, but I love making things for my man so I will try this with the kiddos this week. Thanks for sharing!

OH! can't believe you just heard of Joy! :) (LIke I know her!! ha) she has some amazing recipes... the chocolate frosting on my "can cakes" is her buttercream frosting - made with OVALTINE!!! amazing! :)
What an adorable sous chef :) I love your little chair for her - how handy! I've seen them before but never used one.
I just had to pipe up that you shouldn't feel responsible for your son's food allergy - I read an article lately about this and you really can't give your child a food allergy while you're pregnant :)
I want those cookies...and now! :) lol thanks for sharing :)
Im saying YAY and Im DEFINITELY not Preggers;);)
youre adorable
