we are a real life berenstain bear family... with slightly smaller tummies. : ) i refer to hunter as "brother bear," sage as "sister bear," and you guessed it, myself as "mama bear." papa bear my hubby thinks this is weird. i think it's being a mom.

and they didn't pay me to tell you. that's how much i like it. it's way healthy especially with a tasty flax seed crust.
3. glory to the newborn King!
i adore this time of year and the celebration of advent. the house is festive and full of cheer. i feel like a kid again having kids and watching them take in the Christmas season. advent is all about celebrating the Savior's birth. i think a lot about mary, Jesus' mother, during this season. she was so trusting and willing, able, and ready to serve God without questions. when the angel appeared to mary to tell her of the virgin birth, her response was full of humility:
“Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. -Luke 1:38 ESV
this is the best nativity for kids (fisher price's little people nativity)... my aunt bought it for hunter and sage. i highly recommend it.
i love stockings hung on a piano. normally it's the fireplace (of course) but i'm liking this more...

my adorable friend beth opened an etsy. it's so beyond cute and full of tutus and bows. everything is made with the best quality and craftsmanship (and beth is a perfectionist so all the items really are perfect)! go check it out.

I laughed so hard when I read about the Berenstain Bear reference. My SIL used to make fun of us because we always referred to the kids as brother bear and sister bear. Over the last 2+ years, the names have morphed into "brover" and "sycee" - I love how nicknames form! Beautiful words about the Savior's birth - couldn't have said it better myself! I am in love with everything about this season...Christmas is such a happy season! That Little People nativity really is the best. It was Noelle's favorite toy last year. I brought it for my brother and his wife this year even though they don't have kids. My SIL sent me a link when it was on sale at Family Christian Stores and said she wanted to buy it but that my brother said it was too soon seeing that she wasn't pregnant yet. So, he's getting it wrapped under the tree this year :) Love the stockings on the piano - so clever! That hair bow (and little one!) is too cute...going to check her out now! I love your willow tree angel nativity it is presh! Loving the FP nativity I am gonna have to get Kelcee one! Did you see the Hallmark Ornament for Kids? It is a nativity ornament and it has a book and you press the buttons and the ornament tells the story of baby Jesus Kelcee looooves it!
I love the stockings hung on the piano....I don't have a piano or a fireplace LOL....mine are hung on our Armouir that works huh....

We love the FP Nativity scene in our house too...it's just perfect for little hands! Your Willow Tree nativity is also wonderful. My mother loves loves loves the Willow Tree collection. I agree with Daphne, you should swing by tomorrow and play along with us on Home Tour Tuesday!
Very neat that y'all are like the Berenstein Bears, so much better than many of the other TV families you could compare yourselves too!

My parents just got the boys that nativity set over Thanksgiving! The boys love it! I think it's great. Benjamin is finally old enough to understand some of it. He knows its Baby Jesus :)
1.) I refer to my children and brother and sissy bear as well. My husband also thinks it's weird!
2.) I love that Kashi pizza. However. 3 out of the last 4 times I have had it I have ended up vomiting within 12 hours of consumption. Strange, huh?
We have the little people nativity set too and my kiddos love it:) They played with it so much last year that the batteries are dead! I really like your stockings on the piano:) We don't have a mantle, so we hang ours on the stairs!
Mmmmm that pizza looks DELISH! I'm gonna have to try it :) My niece is obsessed with Nativity scenes right now. It's the cutest thing when we go look at lights she is constantly looking for them. :)
Oh, Carissa, I love it all, the Willow Tree (I'm a big fan of them), the Berenstain Bears were the "be all do all" when our kids were little, and I got the FP nativity for our Grans last Christmas and we will use it for our birthday celebration for Jesus this year. What a fun, fun MM! Hugs!

We are totally the Berenstain bears too! We call Add Little Bear - even LB for short, and I am Mama Bear. Love it!

Oh, I just love the stockings hung by the piano with care...whodathunk, too cute! We always loved the Berenstain Bears and Fisher Price Little People, too! I'm with ya on the Mary thoughts...last night that is who our devotional centered on and at my daughter's age, it really hit her for the first time exactly what that meant for Mary and how Mary must have thought, been treated, what Joseph must have thought at first, etc! Good stuff!!
My MIL just told me she is getting my son the nativity for Christmas. I LOVE it!
I giggle when I see someone who uses the ESV of the Bible...I love it! A daughter of a friend of mine used to use Little Bear to refer to herself and her mom and Dad (they were Mama and Papa Bear). I still call her Little Bear! Mary...what a example of complete faith!!

We hang our stockings on the piano as well. :) Though it does make it difficult to play.
Love the Berenstein bears. Especially the early books. The newer ones aren't as good.

We have the same Nativity scene! I couldn't agree more. Advent is such a special time of year, and the peace and joy that comes with it is overwhelming.
