two years ago i traded in the desk job...
went from this chair
to these chairs
and lots of these
these too
and piles of this, which i'm learning, unfortunately, does not fold itself.
and i'd never trade it for anything.
no job, no fancy title, no paycheck, but never so much joy.
toys, bottles, clothes, and highchairs are all some of my favorite things because it means i'm a mom!
the little hineys that sit in those chairs, the chubby knuckles that grasp those toys, the mouths that those bottles nourish, the bodies that those clothes dress... all are worth far more than gold.
the little hineys that sit in those chairs, the chubby knuckles that grasp those toys, the mouths that those bottles nourish, the bodies that those clothes dress... all are worth far more than gold.
and although the world might say otherwise, that this isn't enough, that women have to do more... i know that worshipping God and making disciples of Jesus are the greatest calling in life. so i'm more than thankful to be making disciples out of my littles right here in my home. : )

LOVE this post! I needed that today...just a little reminder that what I do is important too! :-) You're such a beautiful sister in Christ to me!
Great post. Sometimes we all need to be reminded what a awesome job we have.
What a great post Carissa! I too wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! Recently I actually had a comment from my not nice neighbor about me being a SAHM and I was taken a back. When you wrote that some of society still thinks otherwise, it is true yet I never experienced it until a few mths ago and I was the bigger person about it and thought later how funny it was and how um not smart she sounded saying it LOL...I love my job as being a SAHM to Kelcee just like you love yours and we wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!
PS you have some really cutie patooties...they are growing up so fast!
xoxo

Great post! And your children are so cutee.
i had just finished college getting ready to start my new career when i got pregnant with big chick. i never got the chance to experience that career feeling. there was a sense of loss at first, but never in a million years did i want to lose a minute with my babes. so blessed i had the chance to stay home with them. it's a decision you will never regret.
Amen, sister. Amen!
What a sweet sweet reminder...
Amen sister! I LOVE this post!!!! I thank you for the reminder you give, that we are worshiping our LORD, and making disciples with our kiddos! At times to remember that, gets lost in the laundry piles and diapers to change! Thank you!!!!!
Thank you for posting this... I agree with every word. Being a mother is a very high calling and huge responsibility. It MATTERS!
Absolutely wonderful post!
A wonderful post!! I needed that today.
This is so, so sweet. Making disciples of Jesus. Beautiful!
And you do it sooo well my dear! :)
God Bless,
Bleah
You always inspire me. I will admit though, I cringed a little when I saw the pumping equipment. (I hated pumping!)
Beautiful post! Being a mom is seriously the best job ever..paid in smiles :)
Love this post!
what a lovely post! your children are adorable : )
Being home with our kiddies is the best! Beautiful post!
Love your post. My husband and I are praying about me staying at home full time instead of teaching next year. It's a tough decision looking at our financial situation, but it's a no brainer when I acknowledge that Jesus' call to make disciples begins in my home.
I'll become a mommy in late May and my husband and I are trying to figure out how to make it work so I can stay home. I trust God will provide.

You are building cathedrals for God!
Carissa,
this is the sweetest post ever!!!!! I agree and I am doing the same job..praise God for that opportunity!
Carissa...this is such a sweet post, and so, so true. :)
You are truly blessed to have this privilege and I was too. Neither my daughter or DIL have that privilege but they are blessed with the most awesome Christian lady to keep my precious Grans. She keeps them both at our son and DIL's house. It's the next best thing and I'm so grateful they were able to work out such great arrangements.
I can't get over how much your wee ones have grown since I've been following your blog. WOW!
Blessings to you and your sweet family!
You are such a blessing to me. I love following your blog because it encourages me that someday I could maybe be a SAHM. That would be such a blessing.
I love that verse...adding it to my verseminder app
You are truly blessed. I admire those women who have the privilege of raising their children full time.
You are so right! I was telling my friend about potty training and honestly, there is no where else I would rather be! You are such a good Mom!
wow, what a sweet post!! i can't wait to become a mommy in the future! :)
those first 2 pics were precious
meant to say also...great career choice now! haha
yes, yes, yes!! love it =)
I love everything about this post. I especially love what you said about making disciples out of your sweet little ones. I couldn't agree with you more!
such a beautiful post!!!
This is one of the most beautiful posts that I've ever read. Your words and pictures are priceless.
I love the verse from Galatians as well. So perfect.
Thanks, my sweet friend, for linking up with this friday favorite thing. I'm grateful for you!
Blessings,
Rachel
very sweet.
Beautiful. I can't wait to be a mommy!!
i did the same thing and it was and still is the best decision and sacrifice we've made as a couple and for our family!
So wonderful!
What a wonderful "chair" to be in. Cherish every moment...every...it will soon fade. There are many fun stages in raising children but those first years are so very precious. You don't really see how precious till they fade out from under you.

LOVE it!
I've been "doin' the Mom Thing" for 27 years, and it's the BEST career in the world.
By the time this new one graduates from high school, I'll have been a Mama for 45 years. Wow! Couldn't ask for a better life calling than that.
As far as making disciples of our little ones. Oh my! My Big Kids have done far more for the Lord than I could ever have imagined doing. In the past 8 years, 4 of my Big Kids have served the Lord in ... Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina, Chile, Haiti, Senegal, The Gambia, India, Bangladesh, Germany, The Czech Republic, and Jordan (and I've probably missed a few countries). I can't wait to see what God has in store for the rest of my kids.
Hope your week is BLESSED!
