over a year ago, i schemed over starting a party paper shop and calling it pretty party papers. (i know, the name is a little too obvious and slightly boring, but i have special affections for alliterations). my shop never grew, in fact, i didn't get to even plant seeds. i did a baby shower, a party for my friend's daughter's 1st birthday and that was that. life got busy (i.e., i was pregnant and had a 7 month old) and anything that wasn't a necessity got thrown out the window! i'm fine with that though... babies are cuter than pretty party papers any day. : ) i still have fun looking for party ideas and creations, so i thought i'd share these gorgeous ideas that i've come across:
{one} cupcake liner garland at a cookies and milk party.
this is one of the cutest parties i've ever seen. with a bakery theme, the girls created their own cookies with mix-in's and enjoyed them with milk. visit cookie monday's to see the rest!
{two} a bunting banner for anything.

visit oh sweetlee me for step-by-step instruction. it's something you can do without having to buy anything. this is my kind of craft!
{three} cupcake on a cupcake.
this doesn't qualify as paper but it's sure pretty cute and all party!
this:
can turn into this!
this is beyond adorable! what a fantastic idea from kristan at confessions of a cookbook queen! i told kristan when i saw her idea it was love at first sight! i mean, seriously. what's cuter than a mini cupcake that's an incognito reese's?
{four} amy atlas anything.
if you need any idea for anything party related, go visit amy atlas. she's a walking wealth of party ideas that we all wish we could have come up with on our own. look at these flower baking hats...
{five} the best for last.
ha ha! just kidding. this may not be the best, but it's my own idea, so i have a special appreciation for it. : )
we did this as a favor for Hunter's 1st birthday(they were less than $1/favor). since our party was made up of family, i figured all the guests wouldn't mind taking home a picture of our little boy. i got pictures printed from our smash the cake session (thanks amy prikazsky photography!), and then bought acrylic frames to frame them. on the back of each picture it said:
dear: "family member's name"
dear: "family member's name"
i enjoyed the cake, and gifts too, but my favorite part was seeing you! thank you!
love, hunter

now it's your turn. if you have an awesome idea, tell me. and then i'll tell everyone else! happy pretty party papers creating to you!

That cupcake picture is the cutest!! What an awesome idea to put a reese's peanut butter cup on top of a cupcake?? Genius! I also love the 1st picture of the cupcake garland! You have inspired me to eat a cupcake today. Thank you!
Fun, cheap, easy ideas - thanks. And I do think you saved the best for last. Smash the cake photo session? LOVE IT!
All of these ideas are so cute! Makes me wish my girls were little again! The neatest idea I ever came up with was to have an indoor picnic party. I put a large red & white checked table cloth on the living room floor, used picnic themed paper goods, and food such as the dirt cups (cupcake with chocolate iciing, crumbled choc. cookie on top & a gummy worm coming out), etc. My favorite part was to hang plastic bugs from the ceiling with fishing line. We had low ceilings at the time and the kids loved them. The party favors were little bug keepers and butterfly nets. Not very girlie but they loved it!
Ok, the cupcake on a cupcake is adorable! And your favor idea is awesome!!
The cupcake on a cupcake? Pure awesomeness!! I totally have to borrow this idea :) Thanks for sharing all of the fun ideas!
I don't have any advice on the paper stuff BUT the first picture made me smile because we are thinking of using the name Camden if it's a boy:) Excited to hang out Monday night!
Our youngest little boy's name is Camden so I LOVED the first picture. And the cupcake on a cupcake idea is so adorable!! I think I may be using that for big brother B's birthday coming up! Thanks for the ideas!!
Kristan at Confessions of a Cookbook Queen if one of my fav blogs to read...she is hilarious and the treats are to die for!!!!
What cute ideas and I actually like the name you were thinking! :-) That one with the double cupcake thing...Yum! I may have to try those.
I love that idea for Hunter's 1st birthday. So cute! I am definitely going to store that in my memory vault for Gavin's 1st birthday party. I have 9 more months to plan. ;)
Rope Bracelet GIVEAWAY!
Love all the cupcake stuff. I really want one now. UGH! Shame on you;)
I love that you gave pictures of Hunter for his party! My family is always hounding me because I never send them pictures-- only in email and they want hard copies. Great idea :)
I saw your picture idea (for Hunter's bday) on one of your previous posts. I'm borrowing it for my son's 1st birthday coming up next month. So excited! I know our family members will love the surprise! Thanks for sharing!
So cute! Great ideas :)
Oh, how I love that cupcake liner garland and the mini cupcakes on a cupcake... So cute! Will definitely try to implement these soon :)
Super awesome ideas!! Love them!
Put "Start Pretty Party Papers" on your to-do list for when the kids are all grown and moved out. :) You'll have quite a file of ideas by then!
For now, I think you really have an eye for creativity -- especially love that cupcake paper garland idea.
For our "birthday season" in the fall - when 5 out of 7 kids have birthdays within several weeks, I get a little overwhelmed, but thank the Lord for giving me creative children. My oldest daughter would see an idea like this and just do it!
Life has been busy and I'm just getting by today to read this adorable entry. I think all women have a "thing" about pretty papers and party supplies. I love, love the cupcake on a cupcake. I bet that you will one day have the chance to do your "Pretty Party Papers." Always brings a smile to my face when I stop by. Blessings my dear!
I love, love all of these ideas!! And who doesn't want to eat a cupcake with a Reese's on top?! Oh my! The party favor idea is precious...may have to use your great idea one day! :)
