my honey is getting hearing aids today. and i promise, it's not a minute too soon. he turned only thirty eleven days ago. proof that it does go downhill from here. ; ) also proof, according to my honey, for another reason to long for heaven. where all ailments, sickness, diseases are no longer. i give him mad props for thinking so eternally. with a constant ringing in my ears for the past five years i think i would've gone crazy and bitter. not so with him.
he might finally experience again...
...what it's like to hear silence.
...what it's like to hear nature (being a nature lover himself, the dragonfly above is dedicated to my man)
...what it's like to hear his kids' tiny cries.
...what it's like to really hear what i'm asking him to do. ; )
oh, and get this. since my man is a full-time worship leader/musician, his hearing aids had to be the best of the best kind. the kind that costs as much as a decent car. the kind we could never afford. the kind that we've prayed to somehow get for years upon years. the kind God has provided for us, for free (through the vocational rehabilitation department of South Carolina). yet, another lesson in provision. we're so grateful today.
in other miraculous news of sorts:
:: one of my dearest friends and her husband recently finished their domestic adoption paperwork to adopt their first child and were matched to their newborn daughter this past monday. we thought this would be a years in the making thing. it was more like weeks. what joy!
:: my sister-in-law and her husband finally got the paperwork signed (after waiting 8 months on a court in Haiti) to continue on with their adoption of a beautiful 7 year old girl (they started the adoption process just after the Haiti earthquake in Jan. of 2010). i'm going to be an auntie for the 5th time (Lord willing) soon.
:: our yearly adjusting mortgage went up only $10. this was just after it only went up $4 last year. God knows what we can handle. more provision.
:: and also, my sweet friend, leah, gave me an edition of photoshop elements. she's so cool. i'm excited to learn how to really edit.

Wow, what a list! Your week has been full of amazing things happening! I'm so glad he is able to get those hearing aids, and for free too. What an amazing gift.
Happy weekend.
Those are all really good things! I can only imagine how, especially as a musician, those hearing aids are going to transform things for your husband!
Wow. God is so faithful!
my best friend's husband works for starkey...a hearing aid company and foundation. they only make the best of the best and they are EXPENSIVE...holy cow. so glad to hear you were blessed to get them for free!!! now he will be able to hear you. YAY:) i'm so happy that your heart is full today. happy friday friend.
Found you through Finding Joy...My dad is a musician/voice professor and has severe hearing issues (has all his life). Isn't it amazing how their talent can perservere despite the limitations?? Hope your husband finds a new lease on hearing =)
Celebrating God's provision with you!!!! He is so good...I love hearing all this news ;)
My hubs had to have ear surgery 2 years ago. He had a genetic condition that caused his bones in his ear to fuse together. He had 90% hearing loss in one ear and 50% in the other. Once both surgeries were done it was like a whole new world for him, and for myself as I wasn't have to shout at him to hear me and I no longer had to fill in conversations for him when we were in a group.
Praying that the hearing aids for your honey do the same thing. I truly was amazed at all the things I hear that I take for granted when W was able to hear again. he was asking me all the time what a certain noise was that I never gave it a second thought.
Beautiful favorites! God is good; rejoicing with you. Visiting from Favorite Things @ Finding Joy link-up.
How awesome to see how God provides even physical needs for us if we just trust!!! I am so excited for your SIL and family and there adoption...it is close to my heart right now with our own mission trip to Haiti coming up very soon!!!

Oh, I didn't know he couldn't hear. What a blessing to get the top of the top hearing aids for free!! God is awesome.
Take photoshop in slow doses. Its overwhelming and frustrating when first (or continuing) learning it. Or maybe its just me that has those issues. I know so little, get overwhelmed learning something new and walk away for weeks at a time. haha ..yeah, its probably just me.
Have a great weekend.

Wow! It's great when God blesses us in big ways, but I think I love it even more when He takes time to look at the little things that we want and may not necessarily need.
