1. i finally saw the help over the weekend. thanks to this girl, we had a starbucks+movie date all on gift cards. i don't have a picture to prove it, but i can tell you that it made me fall in love all over again with the tender and touching story. skeeter was as amazing as i expected her to be, abilene was just as precious as a red ruby, and minny kept a better reign on her tongue than i anticipated.
2. the only problem with reading the above mentioned book so young in life, is that i feel ruined for all other novels. i've started water for elephants and i'm strangely engrossed but hoping it gets much better because i can only read about circus animal manure and similarly gross things for so long.
3. hunter got a two-month overdue hair cut this weekend. when you have to pay $20 to get your lil' man's hairs cut, you tend to stretch it out as long as possible. somehow, though, it never ends up looking quite right. i blame it on his antsyness, his inherited big head from daddy along with a mop of locks that situates itself right on the tip top of his noggin. maybe one day, if he's lucky, he will grow into it all.
4. remember this pretty grey backdropped butterfly dress from months back? - the one i bought in january with an old navy gift card from christmas. i had yet to wear it until yesterday. it's like i dreamt of being napolean, somehow woke up brave as a result, and finally walked out the door with butterflies fluttering all over my stomach as they adorned my dress as well. i'm just not a big bold print person, so i felt way out of my comfort zone. hunter said i looked "perdy" so i half believed my two year old and continued on. my honey loved it so i was happy. i plan on wearing it again without letting it sit in my closet for nine months.
5. our weekend feels most complete with (church, of course - that's a no brainer, and) a visit to the farmer's market. when i go, i sort of morph into a green loving, earth friendly hippie and want to buy everything. i don't really buy anything but some produce and that's okay. the experience is fun while it lasts, especially when you go with this one and her crew.
our friendship shot(s). we didn't settle on any we liked, so here's two that we didn't really.
and our boys below... they have so much fun together getting dirty and being boys.
6. i can officially say that i know what it must feel like to live in the pacific northwest. we've had gloomy skies and soggy days for at least a week straight. the sun better come out soon; i'm begging.
7. evidently, my beloved ener-g egg replacer does not work well for brownies. sadness. i thought i hit the eggless miracle maker baker. just FYI.
8. after feeding my man whole-wheat horror for so long, i made up for it with the help of ree and these bad boy slap jacks. hubby says they were good, but i don't like pancakes so i wouldn't know. i'm pretty certain, though, if you have the best food blog on earth, plus a show on the food network you can call yourself an expert. and in all honesty, my man didn't just say they were good - he said they were the best pancakes he's ever tasted and he now has a crush on the pioneer woman herself. ; )
9. because no post is complete without some sage; with her whispy blond curls and baby brown eyes.

Those pancakes look amazing!!
I put off reading Water for Elephants for a long time because the whole circus thing didn't appeal to me- but I ended up loving it. Hopefully you will too once you get into it!
Oh my goodness those wispy blonde curls are just TOO CUTE!! :-) And those pancakes look great, I might have to try those! Gotta love Pioneer Woamn!!! :-)
I enjoyed Water for Elephants, but I thought that it was pretty disturbing. I loved The Help and am ready to go see the movie now!
Gotta try those pancakes ... they look awesome. I'm not much of a pancake fan, but my grandkids love them, so I am looking for a recipe that will wow the grandkids. Sounds like these might do the trick! ;-)
gooooood mornin'! oh i loved the help movie. have not read the book, but i will when this moving business is done. but water for elephants is one of my favorites. hope you like it! and your dress is Adorable!! love it :)
have a great monday...
Good morning my adorable can wear a cute dress with butterflies and look stunning friend! Lovely post. I will have to read that book.
Love the curls on Sage. Love them even more because you can keep letting them grow. And haircuts? I cut my boys hair. I know. But, they would come back from getting it cut some where and it would be wrong. So, I started cutting their hair. Works okay...most times. :)
It is such a blessing to have a friend like you do -- and that your boys can share "being boys" with each other makes it even sweeter.
My weekend? It was wonderful. We celebrated Samuel's birthday and rejoiced over the life we've been blessed to share with him.
Praying for a wonderful and blessed and lovely day for you.
Love ya!

love this post! My MIL gave me the book "The Help" but I haven't gotten into it much - yet. I'm def. going to see the movie when it comes out to rent! I've wanted to see the movie "Water for Elephants" but was worried it would be too rough...love what you said about "ruined for all others..." I've felt that way about books now and then "Blue Like Jazz" was one of them "Eat Pray Love" was another.
You are adorable...you know that right?? I sincerely hope the sun comes out soon or I can't be held responsible for what may happen! I'm pmsing on top of the gloom. Pray for me!
I want to see The Help, but I'll have to wait for it on dvd.
And that dress? LOVE it.
Give it time girl, you will fall in love with Water for Elephants!
i just love your posts. They are so fun to read and I just smile after I read one. Every time. I might have to try those pancakes for my hubby next weekend. Sounds like a fun weekend.
Look at those cute Sagey curls...I adore them. $20 for a cut would make me stretch it out too...Caleb is due for a cut himself. So glad you liked The Help...I think it did the book well. You is smart... Very cute dress and you and your friend are adorable :) Now I want pancakes.
You two look beautiful, and I love BOTH photos!! :)
I really like you butterfly dress. It so needs to come out of the closet more often.
A movie with coffee on gift cards sounds great!
I just finished The Help on Friday and I loved it. The end had me all weepy. I can't wait to see the movie. I loved Water for Elephants. I read it a million years ago and it's still one of my favorite books. The first time I tried to read it I ended up putting it down for a few months because I couldn't get into it. I am so glad I gave it another shot so hang in there, it gets better.
You don't like pancakes?! Oh they're soooo yummy :) They look awesome! I love the PW! And that dress is awesome, love the butterflies!
1. I love that dress! You should definitely wear it again soon!
2. I know what you mean about going to the farmers market and wanting to buy everything. I suddenly want all the vegetables I don't even look at in the grocery store!
3. I'm checking out that pancake recipe. I made some last night and they were just average.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
i saw you yesterday and thought you looked absolutely cute. i liked the dress.
I DO remember that dress, and it IS pretty!!
I have hidden the complete amazingness of Pioneer Woman herself from my boyfriend for fear of that exact same thing happening.
Your children are simply adorable.
I LOVED The Help. And similarly, I find myself ruined for all other fiction. I started Water for Elephants at the beginning of the summer, got about halfway through it, and haven't touched it since. {This is after it sat on my bookshelf for about eighteen months without getting so much as a cursory glance.}
You look gorgeous in that butterfly dress! I'm too little to wear a print that bold, but it looks just perfect on you.
You definitely rocked the dress, SO CUTE!
As is your sagey sage, but you knew that. :)
Oh I've got to see that movie!!! I've heard nothing but greatness about it.
And that dress... is... gorgeous on you!!! So glad you got the nerves to try it on! :)
Hi!
I'm a newbie to Miscellany Monday. Loved both books, haven't seen the movies yet. Have a great day!

Love the dress....beware of Water for Elephants...quite graphic in some places...and not just animal stuff :( I bought it on my Nook...don't think I'll read it again. Ever.
Cute dress! Hope you have a great Week!
well now I'm hungry for pancakes!! haha those look scrumptious! I can't wait to see the help - I think it will be our first date night since the little man came home! :)
did i read you right about not liking pancakes? (feels ur forehead) haha
my kids beg for pancakes on the weekends and twice during school week...i play the 'good' mom and do it for them. i like being needed....
$20 for a little boy's haircut is crazy! I get all three of mine done for $25! And my boys always come out looking kind of wonky too...mostly because the won't sit still! Eli insist that the trimmers tickle so he moves constantly:) Those pancakes look awesome...I blogged about a PW recipe today too!
Having followed your blog for a while now, I just want to say I admire you and the sacrifices, commitments, and choices you have made in your life. Especially those as a Mom and in service for Him. It is *okay* if you spend money on yourself from time to time - for no reason - and even without a gift card! :)
Do not let the butterfly dress stay hidden in the closet ever again!!!! It is absolutely stunning on you!!!! And you don't like pancakes? Seriously? I think you are the first person I have ever run into like that? Maybe with some different toppings other than syrup??? I still think you are the bomb anyway:-)
Can you believe I saw "The Help" 4 times? Yikes! It was really good. I wanted to pop in and welcome you to the Faith Blogs community. I was excited to see you are there! Have a beautiful day!
Nice Diva Pose. Happy to hear your hubby likes it. Sure plan not to wait 9 months to wear it again, is to "Wear" it for him. (little tid-bit from another wife : )
That dress looks gorgeous on you! Def a keeper. :)
Mmm, pancakes...*sigh*
Love,
~bree
Are those the sour cream pancakes? My sister will only make Ree's ever since she discovered her. We L-O-V-E her and her food. So so yummy!
I'm so happy you wore your butterflies. I'm the exact same way with bold patterns. Not one for them. My little 'blog avatar' w/me in that very very bright bold top was a stretch for me. I was so self conscious that day, like everyone could see me. But got so many complements on it. hhmmm maybe you and I should step out of our comfort zones a little more. =/

Are those PW sour cream pancakes? My husband is in love with them too.
I just finished reading The Help this weekend and cannot wait to go to the movie! Such a great book...I put it right up there with my favorite, Redeeming Love.
Love that butterfly dress! :)
Your butterfly dress, those pancakes, and your baby girl's curls are all perfection. :)
That dress is darling!!
And I'm quickly learning that you can never go wrong with the Pioneer Woman recipes. Try her french breakfast puffs. Oh...my...goodness!
You look so thin in that dress and I don't even like butterflies but you made me not even notice them! Pretty girl! Love it! So healthy after two kids!
Welcome to FaithBlogs!
I love the thought behind your blog. Such a fun title!
+ I love the idea of taking friendship photos!
we have such similar tastes in books & movies it's kinda scary ;) i'm glad you loved the Help; i'll putting in in the Netflix queue soon so i can get it soon, ha! let me know how Water for Elephants turns out because i've wanted to read it for a long time!
i want to eat those pancakes - they look so yummy!
i loved the help so much! i found that the movie was a lot more touching than the book for some reason. i cried & cried! i loved it though.
and that butterfly dress looks amazing on you - definitely wear it again soon :)
Your dress looks adorable on you!! I think you could really wear anything and look fantastic!!! :) And.. I think I just gained a few pounds looking at those pancakes. Yummmy!!!!
That dress is darling! Lovely post. :)
Lovely dress and delicious looking pancakes...two things I wish I could indulge in right now but the dress wouldn't fit and I don't need pancakes my last trimester:) But maybe I'll make some for Justin. He's always a fan!
love your model shot! of course, you look beautiful, as always!!! :) you should totally wear that dress more often, or I might have to come steal it from your closet! :) xoxo, your kiddos are just too precious not to comment on!
First off, your kiddos are getting SO big! Too sweet. And secondly, I enjoyed Water For Elephants but more towards the end. It took a bit to get into it but once I did I really liked it.
x
Oh my gosh, I just finished The Help and ADORED it. Even though I got it from the library I know I need a copy for myself.
Visiting you from Faith's Simplicity blog. Lovely photos and I like your blog format -- very cool. :)
