learning through little wonders.

our days this week have been full of park going and nature exploring.

little things like pine cones intrigue the minds of my little ones.

learning about sunshine peering through tall trees is suddenly brand-new.

discovering moss and creating a bird's nest out of it, is super cool stuff for a two year old boy.

miss sis had to get in on the bird nest making action as Hunter shouted to the sky, "birdies, i have nest fo you!"

then there was the single beautiful crimson leaf  he had to take with him on every slide ride to let the "weef haf fun, too!"

Sage, a typical girl, was intrigued by pretty baby wildflowers.

and with my eyes glued to discovering things anew i spotted a bright green gumball in the midst of dark branches.

i remembered that i want my life to be like that.  set-apart.  like a city on a hill.  shining bright for Jesus in the midst of dark.  so i taught my kiddos Matthew 5:14 right then and there.  even though they're just one and two year's old, the tangible picture brought the story to life.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden." - Matthew 5:14 ESV

ps. today, after 18 months of no cuts i am getting my hair cut.  only i'd call it more of a trim.  i hope this story has a good ending.  i'll let you know!  {i'm slightly freaked out.}

Seeing things through their eyes and stopping to actually enjoy it all is the best!

Those special times are the best...where you are just going about your daily routine and God reveals himself to you in a special way.

Gotta love a long overdue haircut! My family goes thru tons of milk too!! I buy hormone free which costs more, so I started buying whole milk and watering it down to 2% taste (what we can all agree on). You should try it-it tastes the same and its like we get a free gallon for every two we buy! Also I have never asked my doctor about soy for my little boy. I love soymilk but quit buying it because I didnt want my him to drink it. It is good to know its not that bad if i buy every now and then!
