1. haircut success. phew. i am so relieved... after 18 months of no cuts, my ends are refreshed. i visited a new hair dresser named alicia. alicia works wonders. i love her. my hair is hers to cut for life.
2. this is the beginning to the downfall of my waistline. at christmas and easter time when these perfectly coated chocolate candies hit the shelves, i lose every ounce of self-control and exchange it for a few pounds. good thing it's marathon season.
3. my little brother just turned into a teenager.
he opted for unconventional and went with donuts to celebrate.
i am so happy for him... he is a sailor and is going to the US Olympic Sailing team training next month. he is even going to be on the cover of a sailing magazine. how cool is that?!
(this is my bro sailing. photo by us snipe sailing)
4. i counted how many different gallons of various types of milk my family of four uses. FIVE. what in the world. i calculated out how much per month we spend on milk: $75 ish. our varieties include: chocolate silk, lactaid milk, skim milk, organic vanilla soy, organic chocolate soy. (ps. i've done my research, talked to our pediatrician and believe soy is a-ok! when your peeps have a lactose intolerance you do what you have to do.)
5. i'm always a fool for a good love story. and everything ree puts her hands to is golden. win-win.
6. it's blurry but i like it. if you knew the task it was to get them to walk toward me holding hands, you'd like it too. : )
7. do not attempt this at home. we did the unthinkable... borrowed a tri-pod and hit my favorite spot for an attempt at some family photos. we tried once and failed. we tried again and the shots will suffice. maybe third time will be a charm? or maybe we'll grow a brain and not try it ourselves with a one and two year old.
8. bring on the color and the cute kid lovin!

You did a fab job with the tripod and those family pictures are so sweet and natural! I sat right in front of Ree Drummond flying to Blogher and was too shy to say Hello! (and even went to her workshop, and still didn't say hello!)
Thrilled to get it together to link up today! Thank you xxx
I think they turned out great! I am thinking of doing this for our Christmas photos.

2. You were beautiful before, and the haircut only makes you more so. :-D
Thanks for sharing!
Yes, the hair is great! I'd keep her for life too. A good hairdresser is a woman's best friend for sure.
I could have picker your brother out of a line up and known he belonged to you.
The "hand holding" picture should go on a magazine. So precious!
I think the tripod worked extremely well. Your pictures bring a smile to my face this Monday morning. Blessings for a wonderful week!

cute hair, super cute fam pic, & i love that book! happy monday!
Your hair looks great! :)
I love the holding hands shot :)
Also... (I hope you don't mind this random question) is it your kids who have the lactose/milk intolerance? If so, did you switch them right to lactose-free milk around a year? (My son has a milk and soy intolerance... which he was supposed to grow out of by a year but I don't think he has...)
I love your hair!! So pretty!! and Your family photo turned out lovely!! You look like such a happy little family!! :)
Cute photos! I totally agree and am with you on the Cadbury Candy, they are just soo good! I'm not sure if they have World Markets out there, but if so they import Cadbury from England instead of it being made at the Hersey plant in the states, it may cost more but it tastes soo much better!!
I think your tripod pics turned out pretty great!! I did those with my baby girl, but first got an inexpensive remote shutter release, and loved them! Much easier than trying to do it with the self timer.

And congrats on snagging a hairdresser that you like! Your cut looks great!
LOVE that family picture with a tripod! I just assumed that you had someone take it until I read closely. They turned out great!
I think your family shot is adorable! And I love the one of them walking toward you...I tried this with my boys for our Christmas cards last year and it was hard to do!
What? Cadbury Christmas mini eggs??? I need to find these, I love mini eggs!
I love your haircut. So beautiful. I really love your family photo too. I think when you step back a few years, you will too. What great news about your little brother too. So sweet. I so enjoyed looking over your pictures, it makes me feel like you've just had me over to your home and shared your family photos. Just lovely.
Thank you for hosting this linky.
Blessings,

You are seriously so cute!! And your family is just beautiful!
This time of year is terrible for my waistline, too. First it's the candy corn and the halloween candy and then it's the chocolate covered cherries and Christmas desserts! Eeesh, I don't know how I'll survive. lol
You're so pretty!! And that haircut just makes you all the more!! :)
Way to attempt the family photos, so brave. So so brave.
Good job little brother! That's really neat.

FINALLY I remembered to link up to this. YAY!
lovely, lovely, lovely. all around just lovely.
my husband has suggested using a tripod and doing it ourselves but i keep telling him he's nuts. but maybe he's on to something, because yours turned out cute!
The shot of your littles holding hands... precious. We use three types of milk at our house and I think it's just bananas.
I love the haircut and your family pic is PRECIOUS!
My first time linking up! I love the haircut, i have been trying to figure out what to do with mine.. you did a great job with the tripod, I think the photos turned out great!
absolutely beautiful pictures :) you have a lovely blog, came over from Finding Joy. Have a blessed week!
Bree
I adore your blog! I am very behind on blogging and commenting. I haven't posted a MM in a while, which means I haven't stopped by in a couple of weeks. It's funny how our posts have some similarities today--haircuts, donuts, birthdays and family photos. I titled my post "Everything In Between", and I didn't know you'd added something similar to your blog title. Over a year ago when I was trying to decide on a blog title, I almost chose "Somewhere In Between" because I felt like life happened in the moments in between loads of laundry, washing dishes, cooking dinner, etc. Anyways, just wanted to say I always appreciate your perspective and encouraging words. Have a great week!
Happy birthday to that sweet brother of yours. He looks like such a great kiddo :-)
And your family? Gorgeousness! I'm so impressed that you were able to get those tripod pics with not one but TWO kiddos. Not to mention the husband. For me the last one would be harder than the kids.
I am not the only one obsessed with Cadbury? I already bought some at Target last week. Guess what - they are gone. :\
New here. Linking up for the first time ever. Hopefully to link up again.
I think the pics turned out great. As a Mom of 4 I understand the difficulty in getting kids to "do" pictures....=)
Also, wanted to say that you live in one of my favorite places on all the earth.
I got engaged there. LOVE Charleston!
Blessings! Mindy
A few thoughts:
1. Yay for your little bro! How awesome!
2. You could never grow your waistline even if you tried...well, unless you got preggy again....:)
3. Love the family shot! Hunter has the cutest look on his face
4. love you. miss you.
Love your haircut! I too, have not cut my hair in about 18 months. The last time I went I asked for a trim and after they were done I looked like Dora the Explorer..My hair is finally long again and Im scared to get it cut again!

Are you kidding me??? That tripod shot is amazing!!!! Love the sun flare and vintage wash... and everyone is looking and smiling!! It is Christmas card worthy for sure!
That is so cool about your brother! You have to be over the moon proud of him!
That book is on my must read list...actually it is on my Christmas list:-)

I love your hair, think your pictures look fantastic, and I am avoiding the grocery store and those mini cadbury eggs like the plague! ;)
Carissa,
You are so beautiful and young! 26 passed me 4 years ago. Ha! Love the haircut and I think the family photo shoot turned out just great.
I also read the time management post. I too mostly let go of the to do list, but love being a semi-professional mom. Maybe I am in the minor leagues. :) Thanksf for sharing your life so beautifully and with entertaining flair. :)
Brooke
