miscellany monday

happy Thanksgiving week, lovelies!  write your randoms and link-up below.

1. trader joe's chalks up 17 more awesome points in my book.  have you seen their Christmas bags?  the paper ones, can double wonderfully as gift wrap or gift tags.  this is what all of my presents will look like without buying any wrap ~

2a. on friday night i ate 2 slices of papa john's pizza.  which never happens.

2b. on saturday night i ate a mexican dinner.

2c. on sunday i was miserably sick and throwing up.  connect the dots, much?

2d.  which is why this gall-bladder-less girl has to stick to eating rabbit food.

3. younger siblings make the best (free) babysitters.  can i get an amen!

4. last week our toilet bowl scrubber went missing.  hubby and i knew who to blame... but the question was which little took it and what did they do with it?  a week later, i found it in Hunter's long-sleeve shirt drawer.  i think we lucked out. this could've turned out way worse.

5. this morning i caught my daughter trying to unwrap and eat a tampon.  my kids have grossed me out way too much in the last week.

6. i think all of womendom have an obsession with target.  well get this.  i had a $5 off coupon and the gal at the cashier doubled it just because.  she had to have been an angel and knew i was crying all morning over finances.  God bless her.

7. if you live near me in Charleston, Riverfront Park is the best place to take pictures.

8. i am the resident family picture taker and i can't say that i mind.  it's fun stuff.  i hauled my mom, step-dad, and siblings out to Riverfront to get their Christmas card pictures taken.  mom, here is your preview.

my bro and his girl ~

9. my grandmother and aunt flew in yesterday evening from California for Thanksgiving.  it's bound to be a good week around here!  hope yours is too.

now it's your turn.  grab the button ~

We don't have a Trader Joe's around here. I love the pictures you took of your family. You could really do this for a living and get paid for it. Lovely.

Ack, no Trader Joe's here ... but love the wrap idea. I did a post recently on wrap for the the Homeschool Post, it will go up again in December ... my kids helped with the ideas ... I will remind you to look ;)
and I have a tampon story ... maybe i will write a post about it.

Your photos are beautiful and when we were in Charleston last year, my girls commented regularly on how lovely the people were there - a little different to Boca!

Have a great week and thank you for hosting!

You have a beautiful family and you did a great job capturing them!!

#4 - Reminds me of when I found our oldest daughter licking the toilet brush. Ewww....what can you possibly do at that point??? However, now she's turned out to be this beautifully poised, paranoid about germs 11 year old - who grosses out when she has to hold her brothers' hands during prayer. :)

Btw, thanks for your recent encouraging comments...sweet blogging friends like you have made this bedrest thing more bearable! ;)

Man, I WISH there was a Trader Joes by me! What fun packaging!! And the pictures look great! I'm the family photographer for us too. I have thought, on more than one occasion, I don't want someone else to take our family pictures, I want to take them! :) The remote has helped with that a little, but obviously I've still had to enlist some others. Great job, they're lucky to have you. :)

Ughhh I hate horrible this weekend too and was definitely feeling it this morning. Had to force myself to work out in hopes to feel a little better. I think it worked...at least for now!

I love your Target story. I always find something like that happens after I have a major meltdown about money. I like to think of it as God trying to tell me He has it under control :)

We don't have Trader Joe's anywhere in this vacinity, but I do love those bags. We do have Target about 25 miles from here but I never seem to get there.

The picture of Sage and your sister is just too cute.

Glad it's your Mom that has to pick the picture for her card, too many good ones to have to pick.

Blessings for a wonderful Thanksgiving week with your family.

What a sweet cashier at Target! God def answers prayers :)

And, one time my mother was playing piano for our church and left my young sister unattended. She pulled a tampon out of her purse and began directing the choir with it! ha! kids :)

Wow, I need to go look at the Trader Joes bag I came home with today. Love the idea of using it as wrapping paper! Okay, Sage and the tampoon, I laughed so hard! Yay for favor at Target. And you have a Beautiful family!

Emily w/Amazing Grapes said...

I'm pretty sure I'd be grossed out by all that too. Kids are weird. haha

Love the trader joes wrappings. Sooo creative. When we were little and super poor it became our family's 'thing' to 'wrap' all presents in plastic grocery bags. haha We still do it to this day. haha

i am a gall bladder less girl too so i completely understand your comments around that. non greasy food is the way to go without feeling miserable!

Annie said...

number five made me laugh out loud, when you said your kids had grossed you out too much in the last week. and i'd like to think that younger cousins make good babysitters, too, because in my family, i am the younger cousin in question. ;] unfortunately, i live too far away from my cousins to babysit, so my duties are reduced to keeping the kids occupied, and on thanksgiving, out of the kitchen. :]

Angee @ Sunshine in my life said...

What a marvelous idea. Oh, I wish we had a Trader Joe's. I had my gall bladder remove in the spring and even though my doctor said I wouldn't have any diet changes there are many foods I avoid. All kids have their gross moments. Mine seem to have a lot of them.
