write your randoms and link-up below.
1. annnd, we're off! welcome to the busiest two weeks of our entire lives. i'm not complaining though, i certainly love the Christmas festivities and cheer and getting out of the house. (if i'm especially peppy around here, you'll know why.) bless my dear mama, she's watching our kiddos nine times in the next thirteen days, no bribery needed.
2. your hips are going to hate me:
3. you should know that my favorite word girl in existence is shannan. if there's ever a writer i want to be, it's her. shannan is headed for big things, which is why she has her own folder in my inbox and i'm saving every email i ever get from her. it's creepy and weird and has stalker written all over it. but she knows i do this. so that makes it less weird. (maybe?)
4. last night our Church's worship ministry performed their annual Christmas concert in downtown Charleston. it was amazing and i'm not just saying that because i'm the worship leader's wife. by the way, there's something so entirely attractive about seeing my man belt out praises in front of 2,000 plus people. there were times when i wanted to get up and shout, "that's my husband!" and i'm an introvert. my heart just swelled up with so much thankfulness and joy and praise over Christ's birth, i left that auditorium with more hope than i have had in a long time. i should ALWAYS live this way.
5. since we're on the topic of music, my honey and our worship band's cd is going to be released on December 18. i'm so proud of all their hard work. this has been a labor of LOVE. i couldn't be more excited for him. it will be on iTunes!
6. our tree is up. my kids liked it better before i put the ornaments on it. imagine that. gotta love 'em for loving the simple. ignore the fact that my child is wearing a girl's apron with no shirt underneath. we ate chili for dinner that night, which meant his shirt headed straight for the shout after he was finished, then we made egg-free sugar cookies (that actually tasted good). there was something strange about baking with his shirt off; i put him in a girl's apron. logical.
7. i have been known to crush a time or two on George W. Bush. i'm a political junkie, or i was, now i'm kind of over politics and jaded and wondering why i got my degree in political science. well, Kelly says it's so i can indoctirnate our kids. ; ) evidently it's working... Sage saw a picture of George Dubya and called him Jesus. hahahahaha. (disclaimer: this does not mean i think Jesus would be a republican.)

I love to hear about the admiration you have for your husband and how you are so proud of him :). And I will have to try your milk-nutella mix!
I always love reading your randomness on Monday's. I'm jealous you are already decorated. I'm shooting to have that done in the next few days. Oh so true - that kids appreciate the simple. Maybe I'll go simple this year??? Blessings.
Oh you made me laugh today! Love it.
If I would have been there at that concert (which, maybe someday I'll aim to do) I would have stood up and said, "that's my sweet friend's hubby!!!" I get it -- and it's so sweet the love and good pride that you have for him.
Bless you in the next 14 days -- in the midst of the crazy schedule and moving I know that you will many moments of His peace.
And, sigh, my kids love the tree without all the stuff as well. And ours only stays decorated "correctly" for about one day. The kids rearrange those ornaments.
Blessings friend!
love ya.

hahahahah! oh, sage's comment is awesome.
nutella = danger!! haha, I will have to try though, it will be hard since my favorite hot chocolate to drink is mexican hot chocolate... will the cd be release nationwide?
It's great that you still get butterflies from your hubby. I'm sure you're very proud of him. I'll be trying your nutella hot chocolate today. I think it's just what my cold needs.
Do you know how much I would have loved to have been at the presentation last evening. And, I know what you mean by wanting to stand up and shout. I've been so close to doing that over christian musical presentations. And, Hubby being the Director is just "icing on the cake." Love it!
Will have to try the Nutella drink. I love me some Nutella!
So glad your Mom is nearby to assist with the kiddos during this busy time. We Mom's love doing that for our children!

Oh that capture of your kiddos is adorable! Love the editing.
Nutella hot chocolate...no way, that's awesome! I pinned it on Pinterest, I hope that's okay. :-)
Oh, I can't wait to check out the worship cd! I thought you'd forgotten all about it, and that I was going to have to hunt you down and ask. Yeah, right! ;)
Enjoy your busy two weeks ahead, and have fun! I'm guessing there will be much dressing up in your future.
Also, your last miscellaney cracked me up. Coming from the wife of a man who had a framed picture of the Bushes in his office for YEARS. Not to mention, when I first met him he was still wearing a t-shirt from the 04 campaign. That's love, you know. ;)
Have a great week!!
I love how you save all of Shannan's emails. Confession: I would too! :)
lolllllllllllllll@ the dub random!!!!!
as for the nutella...did you not read my blog where i said 1 sweet a month now? does a drink w/the sweet count? i think not...i'll save this drink with my christmas cookies towards the end of the month...holla!
You make my Mondays! Thank you and love the sweet pics as always. Grace to you!
uh what about ME?? i thought you were stalking and crushing on ME!!! HA;) now i'm going to have to take shan down. seriously jealous. oh and thanks for that nutella recipe. love nutella!
Like the political comment! I feel the same way, got a degree in PS and yet I'm not using it. Pretty sure I'll end up in ministry beside my husband as a Youth Pastor's wife at some point. Too funny how things line up! My husband says it's so I can help him navigate the politics in church. LOL
Nutella Hot Chocolate?? Are you kidding me?? Doing this! There's lots of calcium in that recipe ;)
And I will definitely be checking out the music on iTunes! How exciting!
mmmm nutella hot chocolate. i've been wanting to make that!
Nutella hot chocolate? I think I just died and went to heaven. :)
Aww, he looks so cute in a girl's apron! Maybe that's a good thing...? :)
Love,
~bree
The George W. story made me laugh out loud. Thank you. :)
Oooooh, this post made me laugh. The apron on your little boy musta been super cute!
Congrats on your hubs' band getting a CD made! I hope it blesses lots and lots of people! And I totally know what you mean on those "proud of hubby" moments.

Like always I adore your pictures! Especially the one of your soon and the Christmas tree.. totally looks like something out of a magazine! I can only imagine how proud you are of your hubby :)!!
How exciting about your husbands bands cd! What an accomplishment! Don't you love this time of year? Busyness always makes me happy:)

Adorable! I love GW too :)
And I can't wait to check out the cd!
I bet the concert was wonderful! How exciting to have the CD coming out soon!
I love that picture of your kiddos. So sweet!
But Jesus is a Republican. I was raised on it. :)
This maade me smile today, thanks for that! Lucky girl to get out and have some hot dates with your man, hope you have lots of fun! And man, that nutella hot chocolate sounds delish. Good thing i'm still nursing my babe and get 500 extra calories per day...although i'm sure they're not meant to be spent on Nutella. What's a girl to do? Hugs!
you are just too cute!
love your sweet little guys comment!
so funny!
i happen to like george, too!
and...nutella! :)
Oh goodness, I married in so I am "stuck!" I LOVE being in on politics and hearing what is about to happen before it does! I'm glad that you can be peppy and fabulous! Christmas music makes me happy!!! Go husband!
bahaha, that's hilarious calling him Jesus. uh oh!!
I think him in that apron with the tree is a great picture!!
Oh and I know you haven't told me yet that you're doing it...but you have a folder holding all my eloquent emails too, don't you??? You can be honest...
Emily at Amazing Grapes
Ha, gotta love that Nutella recipe... sounds perfect this time of year.
that nutella hot chocolate sounds so good!
Bless your mama is right...what a sweet lady to be there when you need her. I'm sure snuggling on those babies is totally worth it :) Being at the concert had to have been AMAZING...go Kelly! I love the story about Sage...that's priceless.
Gee Dub PUT HIS ARM AROUND ME once. In a photo. He commented on how tall I was. I need to dig it out. (Is your head about to explode? Mine, too!)
Why do I not remember knowing about your political science degree? I'm a reform(ed?)(ing?) junkie, too.
Unite!
Oh crap. Now I have Becky on my tail....
ha ha.
This is most def. the busiest time of year for me too. It get's a bit overwhelming, even though it's fun once it's all done :-)
Oh, and Nutella and I are best friends for sure! That's the European pb, so I've been eating it for ages now. LOVE that stuff, for ever and ever. Can eat it out of the can with a big spoon every day of my life
I think Shannan has a way of drawing out the inner stalker in most. Seriously, sometimes I'm scared for her.
Also, GW....Girl, nice taste! My husband attended a very promising debate here in the heartland a few weeks back. It was held at a church, each canidate dicussed their faith along side of politics & ALL showed except for Mitt R. who declined the invite. Sorry to get all rambly from my lil phone, but this stuff excites me just a TEENY bit!
Ummmm yes I love my nutella with my lattes! mmmm.

i love that your kids loved the tree without ornaments. i prefer a simpler tree, too.
that's really exciting about your husband's cd! i will definitely have to look it up when it comes out!
nutella hot chocolate?! i'm contemplating whether i should suggest to my brother that we try this idea. we are both suckers for hot chocolate and for nutella.
